Multiple questions,
1) I don't really see a use for a cryptocurrency for this, couldn't this just be a platform stand alone?
2) IF you are hard wired to build a cryptocurrency for this, what is the purpose of the crypto? you say to "incentive" which I think you mean "incentivize" users, but how do you plan on doing that?
3) When is the near future? 1 week? 1 month? 2 months? half a year? 1 year? 2 years?

It could be a stand-alone and I think that would be just fine. But by adding the coin as part of the ecosystem, it allows us to create a social platform like no other. Imagine if Facebook or Linkedin were owned by the community that used it. Rather than just lining the pockets of a few individuals.  Imagine what that community could do or would do to expand it and grow. Our idea is to create a community-owned community. Everyone assisting in making this their community, their investment, and the place where they do their communicating.

To answer the 2nd question. There are several things we can do to incentivize individuals using the platform. Content creating, activity, referring, participating in site events, registering for live events, and many others. The entire idea behind building a social platform for the investment community is to build community involvement. For a lot of people, this can make the introduction to the crypto space a little easier, seeing and talking to individuals, getting a better understanding of requirements of buying and selling, educating themselves. I have been in the investment industry for nearly 20 years and the crypto space is a completely different animal when compared to the stock market and for those interested in this space or is intimidated by it, this could open the crypto community to an enormous community sitting on the fence wanting to get involved.

Near future: we are currently just finishing up some beta testing on the site and once that's completed the blockchain portion will be started on. I wish I could give you an actual date, but its a major part of our focus moving forward. Not only will it allow us to incentivize individuals to participate in building the community, but also assist us in creating real content for the users and it will allow us to continue to build and expand the platform into other areas of the crypto space and much more.
