Maybe it is worth to ask for the reasons on which a child spends much time playing videogames? If to understand the reason, then it can be possible to solve the prblem with no forcing child to limit his(hers) playing time, but will teach self-discipline and division of pleasure and duties.

there must be a change of mood from the person himself, the latter, being transferred to another activity, such as working or performing social activities
so busy and forget about a video game that makes them addictive

It can be stopped by engaging them is some other things. Give them time table on what to do on daily basis and parents also should not devote much of their time to such

Talk to your child to put his video gaming in perspective – Explain to him that it is an entertainment or a past time, and is not what his life is about. Make him be aware that success in the gaming world is virtual or imaginary, and has nothing to do with real life success.  It is more worthwhile to earn points in real life (by getting good grades, earning real money, learning a real life useful skill) than in fantasy worlds.
Set a time for playing - A good time would be one hour on a school day, and 2 – 3 hours maximum on weekends.
Make your child’s gaming time contingent to his actually fulfilling or failing a goal. For example, you can allow your child to play on school days if he maintains a certain grade, but if not, he can only play on weekends.  Or allow your child to play only if he has done his chores.

I don't think that it is possible. If you forbid them to play games, they will find the way how to do that. For example to play with their friends

You need to discipline them that doesnt make them rebellious, tell them that thats not the life that you want from them, make them a goal so they can teach their selves to a proper way of living without addiction in game, dont compromise their wrong doings.

one of the most concerning things about teenagers addicted to vedio games is the effect it has on their academic performance. To break the addiction parents have to careful. Although the issue of teenagers addicted to vedio games is being taken more seriously they have taken to the therapist. Or parents have to give teenager more time and inspire them for social work, enjoy talking with them.

If that were my son/daughter, I'd tell them to take a break and take a walk or two. If they dom't follow, I'll cut-off the wifi and watch them squirm like worms. Gotta give them tough love so that they'll learn that way.

You can't always control an addiction that way. Someone that is addicted will relentlessly fight back to have what they need. It will only make them hate you.

i think we cannot break teenage video game addiction because we cannot control them or we cannot decide about them because they are have different emotion or how they think so that we cannot bypass it. May be we can develop a game that educational purpose if we concern about their education ^_^

If they are your Kids, you should regulate them of using too much computers and stuff. Always remind them that school education comes first before anything else, we are now in a digital age. Smartphones and new computer designs comes every year so, its nearly impossible to stop them getting hook on those things, let them play but make sure they dont forget their responsibilities as a student for them to have a brighter future. Always give them advice about the consequences of too much using and playing computer games.
And lastly, give them suggestions like focusing on other things such as sports or give them books to read.

We are living in a growing technology world where there are different media platforms in our daily life that we used. The most popular for the teenagers now a days is playing video games like DOTA, DOTA2, CSGO, LEAGUE OF LEGENDS and etc. that catches the interest of teenagers that brings them into addiction. To prevent this things happen to teenagers we must limit ourselves in using gadgets like our desktop or cellphones in playing games. I am not saying that to stop playing games because we cannot remove that habit of playing in us, I just want to imply that you have to know your limitations in playing because there are also negative effects that you can get from it. We can also prevent this by exposing ourselves in outdoor activities, participating in sports events, activities that help in our community or place that can we can also contributes in our society and environment and to lessen the usage or playing video games.

It all boils down to habits. If you want to avoid the video game addiction you need to set some rules to ensure that your kid isn't going to spend all day stuck in the room, like how many hours the kid can spend using the computer, if you allow them to use the computer as much they want, it'll become an habit and change that will demand a lot of patience. So create the habit of playing only for a set time and encourage other activities, this way the video game will only be a hobby and not an addiction.

Don't try to break it. Make sure the player is good at his game and encourage him or her to start going to tournaments. There's a lot of sponsors just waiting to help you with your gaming career. If you're good start streaming, making youtube videos, get high in the ladder, join the pro scene. Maybe one day you and your team will win a lot of money and become famous.

Online gaming is part of teenage growth not necessary to avoid them to join the trend, before they hook into that be sure to educate them,  show them the bad outcome of that vice. Engage them to real sports, school activities, group studies, summer workshops, summer jobs and for us parents to spend quality time for our teenagers.
