Bitcoin can not be attacked If you talk about bitcoin wallets answer is yes .unnless you give out your unentrypted wallet.dat file.  If you encrypt your wallet.dat file with a passphrase ( at least one capital letter and a special character), you should be fine. Also, never give out your private keys.  Private keys are for you only and no one else.  Do not fall for email phishing scams that request your private keys.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

In my understanding Blockhain makes bitcoin transaction an open ledger to all. A transaction to be approved all the ledgers must agree. so even f you can hack one ledger when you introduce it to the network it, the network will not approve it because it doesn't agrees with the other ledgers.
In the event that you mean hacking wallets, at that point yes, wallets can be hacked and numerous clients got hacked previously and numerous others will be later on in light of the fact that wallets security relies upon the client himself. However, in the event that you mean hacking the Bitcoin as a running system, I surmise that will be hard if certainly feasible in light of the fact that the idea depends on decentralization and with more clients getting to the system the security winds up more grounded and more grounded.

Hacking bitcoin would require a quantum computer, and we don’t have any of those yet. If you did have a quantum computer, you could not only steal other people’s bitcoins (and those which have been lost forever) but you could also produce blocks super fast to enable double spending attacks.

Any hack would probably involve generating fake transactions, but since they are fake, they wouldn’t generate a solvable hash, so miners would spot them immediately, and plenty of people have tried and failed.

You can hack into a bank, but you can’t hack a blockchain.

There's a wrong concept in your question. The Bitcoin actually can't be hacked, it's too hard and difficult; what hackers do is put a trojan in some junk mail which the user open, steal all the info about the wallet (address, password, etc) and transfer to 2 or 4 accounts in order to lose tracks.

This is something very common and usually the targets are people who have a big amount of BTC in one account.

I love the concept of Bitcoin. I believe the Internet will redefine currency as we know it.  I hope this helps the Bitcoin community to develop a currency that's really resilient to attacks.

But, is it possible?

I am afraid it might not be possible at all. The progress in the online world is a double-edged sword because it does not only mean that the security of sites and other online innovations have developed, it also means the progress of hackers and their capabilities. For all we know, the online world is actually an everlasting battle between hackers and the people who maintain various online systems. But it is unfortunate that there are times when the hackers are ahead a few steps.

bitcoin is safer than any online money has ever made.the technology behind this are really great as it cant be hacked or even get near into blockchain.the only problem which i see is when the coins are transferred into your wallet or storage, this is the time that bitcoin becomes vulnerable to hackers and scammers that if you dont keep it safe it can be took out from you, since more and more computer experts are in this community

Theoretically bitcoin can not be hacked. I don't see how someone could crack it with all this new technology of bitcoin. I am not afraid to be hacked.

Bitcoin can't be hacked, but the BITCOIN WALLET is hackable. You can hack wallets by it's private key. That's why I use hardware wallet to avoid wallet being hacked. You can also use 2FA which is best to privately secure your wallet.

Bitcoin can not be hacked because of its encryption.
It has a great amount of security that is enough for the users of bitcoin to feel safe.
But your wallet can be hacked.

If you mean hacking wallets, then yes, wallets can be hacked and many users got hacked before and many others will be in the future because wallets security depends on the user himself. But if you mean hacking the Bitcoin as a running network, I think that will be hard if not impossible because the concept is based on decentralization and with more users accessing the network the security becomes stronger and stronger.

No bitcoin cannot be hack. Some other people who realy dont know about bitcoin and they saying that bitcoin was hackable them they alwasy wrong about that. Bitcoin itself is not a hackable and no one can hack bitcoin except they are hacking the email who use to log in the wallet that use by the owner of this bitcoin. This is the only way to hack bitcoin but this is not bitcoin itself you hack the email only not bitcoin.

Bitcoin cannot be hacked, but the account or wallet online where all of your bitcoins or other alternative coins are placed is the one that can be hacked. The online world has a a shield to protect all the wallets. The wallet where all our crypto coins are in, are protected by primary keys (composed of random numbers and letters) that only the owner can have it. Imagine, how secured our accounts.

Until now I believe that bitcoin is not easy to hack because blockchain technology is very sophisticated and far more likely to be hacked

Hacking can happen if we are careless in storing our assets. even the exchanger was in my opinion still not entirely safe because many exchangers are also stolen by hackers

there is nothing really safe in the world of the internet. all potentially hacked. as in real life, criminals will never disappear on this earth as long as the opportunity is always there. so you do not have to worry too much, you just need to protect your computer as safe as possible, the rest you let the wallet and exchange developers to protect their servers.

I think Bitcoin can not be attacked because Blockchain technology is now growing and no one knows how Bitcoin was created. Only exchanges are attacked and this really does not affect Bitcoin, and this only happens when you predispose your wallet pvk cause long as they can get access too your gmail/yahoo or any?then they can get intoo your wallet also.just gotta be careful

IMPOSSIBLE, i mean that it is impossible to hack bitcoin in life and remember if this was possible then all hacker are setting for hacking money sites they will hack it before some years. But there is no possibility to hack bitcoin. We have seen various news about hacker which have tried to hack wallet etc. But they was not success in that mission. Bitcoin security is the main focus of bitcoin forum.

If somebody will get 51% of hashrate then technologically also possible. You can also learn about all bitcoin weaknesses from http://en.bitcoinwiki.org/Bitcoin_weaknesses
I saw about this discussion on youtube that it might happen when bitcoin miner double spends the money and they started make another transaction then trying to confirm it - but however I believe this could be prevented if payment recipient makes sure the transaction gets confirmed more than 6 times.

Hacking a wallet may not be possible. But social engineering has not been canceled yet, and it consumes much less resources with a much more predictable result.
