I bought some bitcoin from Coinbase about a year ago to try and learn it. I did several transfers to
an Electrum wallet and that worked. So I tried to use Bitcoin Armory. I did not understand about
Bitcoin Core and but did try to use it. I gave up after several days of downloading. I finally see, now
that I need to download 100gig. Can't happen.
So is there a way to cancel this transaction or can I put that address on another wallet, like Electrum.
It has been sitting in limbo for about a year

So, if I understood correctly, you received coins in a Bitcoin Core wallet and can't spend it because Core isn't fully synced?
This guide[1] has everything you need to know on how to import your address into Electrum. Hopefully it helps you.

No, he has his bitcoins in a "Bitcoin Armory" wallet, which requires a Bitcoin Core node to be able to send bitcoins.

To the OP, within Armory you need to do the following:

1. Select "Wallet Properties"
2. Select "Backup this wallet"
3. Select "See other backup options"
4. Select "Export Key Lists" then click the "Export Key Lists" button
5. When prompted, enter your wallet password and click "unlock"
6. Make sure that the "Address String", "Private Key (Plain Base58)" and the "Omit spaces in key data" boxes are checked.

This should display all the private keys contained in your Armory wallet. You can then import/sweep those private keys into another wallet. I would suggest that you use a lightweight wallet like Electrum if you are unable to sync the blockchain yourself.

Easy to say but on this 6th step - "make sure they are checked" , Whenever I try to click on "save as file" it does nothing. Before I tried it prompted me a box saying that "are you sure" but after clicking many times yes , now it doesn't even prompt the box.
I am really overwhelmed by this armory technology, it has failed me and made my experience the worst.

My bitcoins are stuck in this wallet and I can't get them out

Hmmm, I get the same issue, probably some weird directory permissions error... or something.

To work around this, what I would suggest is that after you get to Step 6. and have all your keys displayed (you might also want make sure that "Include Unused (Address Pool)" is also checked, as your wallet is not synced, so it might think some addresses are unused when they actually contain coins) do the following:

Step 7. click the "copy to clipboard" button and then paste it into a text document.

Alternatively, just highlight all the text in the window and copy/paste the text manually into a text document. You will then have all your private keys and you can import/sweep them into Electrum.

yeah, but as I enter to electrum, lets say I copy/pasted my private keys and everything to notepad file.
Then when I get to select a file to import my keys etc then it says "cannot read the file" so it leads nowhere.

I am now currently again updating blockchain through bitcore and then I try to run armor and maybe , maybe it lead my armor wallet become online again.

Right now I am in bad loop.

I saw my bitcoins once in armory wallet (when blockchain was downloaded and waited hours for it) then i proceeded to withdraw my BTC and I couldn't make a transaction to any address(Can't remember the reason or error, what was prompted).

then I did some research and found out that I am using older version. Went from last version to the latest one and now when I open up Armory, then it doesn't even load the black box , where it said the things, what the program is doing.

((EDIT :: right now as I am writing this, Bitcoin core just said "failed to read from database" and closed itself -.-" ))

In Electrum, don't try and read the file you've made from the Armory output... it won't work... All the applications use different formats to output keys etc... and all the extra " Priv58" and dates and times etc in the file will just confuse Electrum. What you need to do is either edit the file so you ONLY have the private keys... or just copy and paste ONLY the private keys into Electrum:

New\Restore -> Standard Wallet -> Use public or private keys

Then copy in the private keys, one per line. The private keys are the long hex strings from the Armory output, labeled as "PrivBase58", that start with a "5", "L" or "K":

thanks for the help. I only read the first response but it was enough to get me
on the right track. I see later responses added to and would of helped, had I
read them. However I have learned a lot.  And to those who think they have
lost their bitcoin. Yes it is possible to transfer them.  Just takes a little work
and learning.  Thanks again.

p.s.
Still too new and ignorant to explain how I did it
