That is sometimes the case. Altcoins can also pump and dump, have real demand, or have other factors that influence there prices.

No, it depends sometimes bitcoin rise altcoins drop. It depends on the reason for the rise or drop. For example, when chinese exchanges stopped trading, both bitcoin and altcoins decreased.

as far as i know, that bitcoin is not dependent of altcoins, sometimes if bitcoin price rise high the altcoins  rise up to.but their are times that if bitcoin dump, the altcoins is going high.maybe this two coins  have its own dynamic process.this is the scenario of the block chain industry
have its own idea, and fundamental but same  purpose in crypto world.

I am not a good speculator I have witnessed two scenario august fork as well as upcoming October 25 fork both was having reverse behaviour one each other. In august fork people are not sure about hardfork and new coin availability and market reaction so most of the people including me invested on altcoin. After hardfork on august lots of bitcoin holder got free money in the form of bcc and also bitcoin price raised. Now people are clear about scenario for the October fork so every one investing on bitcoin so that they wi get free money like bitcoingold after fork . So selling altcoins and converting to bitcoin so altcoins failing badly in market.

Mainly the altcoin and bitcoin price depends on their demands, which one's demand gets increases the price gets higher.Like you said bitcoin price increases the altcoin price will start to decrease which means when the bitcoin demands get increases there are many people started to buy which makes it more demandful coin when this takes place the demand of the other cryptocurrency normally decreases so the price also decreases. If whole world's people start to use digital currencies which makes it more demand so both price will get higher and higher as per their demand.

The USD value for the altcoin will goes straight with the increase of the price of bitcoin, But remember the altcoin will be lost on its bitcoin value like what already happened in this time and many of them already lost a lot on its value caused by the bitcoin pump

When bitcoin price goes down, altcoins can't rise because bitcoin is the base currency dominenting all altcoins.
People buy and trade altcoin as this would profit them finally  by exchanging with bitcoin, so when bitcoin is down, people appears less interested with altcoin, thus the trade volume of altcoins gets decreased and falls down in price.

No, when bitcoin price goes up altcoin prices go down.

there are many reason for that. but mostly it is because traders want to focus on bitcoin and make the most profit out of the rally before it stops and starts its correction. and also because most altcoins are pump and dumps and bitcoin rise acts as the catalyst they needed to initiate their dumping phase.

and finally it is because people expect altcoins to get dumped so they act accordingly and when most of them sell, price starts going down, and because of that others join in and then we are left with a big dump.

Weak hands have been complaining about missing out ever since bitcoin was $1 and never buy the dip.
Whales are those who keep buying the dip.

it doesnt always have to be up or also down.. due to the hardfork these days people are selling alts to get free bitcoin gold causing the coins to go deep down.

Most probably yes. When bitcoin price will go up, also altcoin altcoin prices will go up, first of all most popular altcoins, like ETH and Ripple. Altcoins market prices and also most popular altcoins, you can find here - https://coinmarketcap.com/. Altcoin market prices depend from Bitcoin, more or less.

The general trend is really this: if Bitcoin rises in price, the course and altcoyins gradually increase. However, the course of a specific altcoyin is influenced by many other factors, and all together form its course. Earlier, if bitcoin was growing in value, the altkoins fell. Why now this order has changed, we still have to find out.

it always like that, bitcoin price up and altcoin goes down because people start to sell their alts and not want to miss the momen for high bitcoin price. and then if bitcoin goes down they buy bitcoin again, and stock some altcoins

Main reason why altcoin price go down is that traders are focusing on bitcoin and they selling own altcoin to buy as much as possible this coins. But later altcoin price returns to basic

Not necessarily- of course it is undeniable that there is some established connection between the price of BTC and all alternative cryptocurrencies, However, it is not tight at all. So we should extremely thourogly study the reason behind the increase in the market value of BTC and take into account whether it is connected to something what has something to do with all the cryptocurrencies as a whole (like for example the approval of all cryptocurrencies in some country) or is that connected only with Bitcoin itself (like a fork with Bitcoin Gold). If it is the first case, than yes- all the cryptocurrencies are certain to rise in value, but if the second than only te BTC itself. Though I might be wrong, but that is pretty much what I think about the issue questioned

This pump and dump of altcoins happen every time and I think it is just normal for all of this to happen, just what happen before that bitcoin price pump high to $6k and altcoins price is so dump and this could brings investor to buy altcoin with this price and it can make the altcoin price will pump again.

The altcoins will usually take a beating during the rise of bitcoin. The reason is that people sell off the alts to get more bitcoin.

Once bitcoin stabilizes, people start scrambling to get back into alts and this is when the price rises along with the previous bitcoin rise.

Altcoin prices against USD yes its going up too. But against bitcoin this is little complicated.
As for now bitcoin is rising but eth/btc is falling.
I think there are no strict connections between prices at all. There were times when bitcoin was growing and altcoins mostly followed it. Good example is May 2017, when btc was rapidly going up as well as ethereum, Nem and some growth of litecoin's price. As for September 2017, ethereum dropped till the middle of that month in USD, as well as litecoin and NEO dropeed superhard. Bitcoin dropped at first but than started recovering very fast and has now reached its maximum whereas most of alts are still suffering from the drop of price in USD.

It seems that there are some alt coins that are traded for bitcoin at the moment because of the fork and there are also coins which rise with bitcoin like monero ethereum and litecoin

yes altcoin price will inflate too but reason for current bearish altcoins is due to btc fork end of Oct and in Nov.

People want to make the most of the new coins and so have all in BTC

I am not a specialist in crypto structures, but when bitcoin price goes up,altcoins prices goes up too after unknown time or not Huh

Because always when btc rises, altcoins to started dropped down.

I think there's no direct correlation however, as in the case today, altcoin is slumping because people are selling them to get free coins. There are a lot of instances in the past, but there also history when both markets really enjoy a price surge. So its not same to assumed that they have some kind of correlation. Let's wait after Oct. 25, and observed that once their is a dump on bitcoin, altcoin should rise. Though this market is really hard to predict.

The price of altcoins varies from the price of BTC, investors, and some fake news sorrounded in the twitter, facebook and all. Sometimes its really hard to believe with our speculations because trading is truly unpredictable.

Yeah I've noticed that too, I think there are more and more people each day coming in to get into crypto to keep pushing the prices higher. Won't most alt coins have a downward bias as each project team that has done an ICO needs to cash in part of their holdings to fund business activity?

If the BTC grows, it pulls Altcoin. This is because the capitalization of BTC is increasing, and Altcoin is falling. Correction and news will also help to increase Altcoin.

I have notoced that if Bitcoin raises very slowly, so do also altcoins benefit, while if Bitcoin raises very fast and very much, altcoins tank - people sell them to enjoy the ride of Bitcoin.

This one is a bit of complicated since altcoins also depend on how bitcoin moves. So when you have your altcoins its better to keep it in a short time to avoid the fork and predict when to trade.

It seems right, when bitcoin produces thousands of people selling altcoin to buy bitcoin and enjoy fast growth.
But when prices start to stabilize they will discard some of it to play on altcoin for short-term gain.

Many instances here somehow follow this trend, but from my research and experiences gathered, the issue is rhetorical. Bitcoin price recently is skyrocketing, and many altcoins are been dumped when their prices are falling, and also for fear of unknown in their future prospects. So, the factors militating for/against the crypyocoins at the period in review is the key.

When bitcoin price goes up,altcoins prices goes up too?
The moment is rare and can be found only when the demand between Bitcoin and altcoins is high. I miss the moment.

The logical thing when bitcoin is pumping up , altcoin usually dump because as I know altcoin are made because of bitcoin.
IMO altcoin quite difficult to beat bitcoin existence so if altcoin is also pumping up when bitcoin increase, it means that altcoin also got a lot of demand for it

No it's the reverse. Altcoins go up when btc is down but not all of them rises. There are some instances that an altcoin still goes up even btc continues to rise because it has progress and it's community is strong so that's why it keeps going just like btc.

in most altcoins you can see this trend:

1- when bitcoin go up, altcoins falls

2- when bitcoin stabilize, altcoins go up

3- when bitcoin fall, altcoins falls

Base on my observation or what I see they have altcoin the price increase also when the price of bitcoin increase and other altcoin decrease the price because many people convert their altcoin to bitcoin because they want to earn profit. Even they have possible to earn more bitcoin altcoin they sell it when they see bitcoin price increase because want to earn profit fastly. But it depends on the demand on the market if the price increase or decrease.

The answer is no. They are indirectly proportional to each other and when one goes up other goes down and vice versa. Why such ambiguity!? Well, it's simple, when this is happening people are actually trading alts with bitcoin on mass scale leading to pumping of bitcoin and thus making it fat over the time. If there is problem with bitcoin then surely people will start to dump bitcoin and out the thing into favourite altcoin making it more fat. The whole thing works like that. :-)

I am not a specialist in crypto structures, but when bitcoin price goes up,altcoins prices goes up too after unknown time or not Huh

Because always when btc rises, altcoins to started dropped down.
I feel like it is impossible, if there is a decrease in the price of bitcoin it is certain altcoin will increase, and vice versa.this is the law of the market, will not be able to rise simultaneously.

if from my experience, once bitcoin price is increase, altcoin become decrease but this conditions is not always happen. we can see now many altcoin is increase when btc is increase too. i think they want to sell their altcoin to have bitcoin and then they can sell their bitcoin to make more profit. people trading altcoin to increase their bitcoin amount and when the altcoin is down, they will buy as much as they can so when the price is increase they can make profit from altcoin.

Some altcoins depends on the price of their ICO. but when if it is converted to BTC. it always equal on the same price.
For Example. New coin Price is 0.10 in dollars for the First Week and then after Four weeks it will hike into 0.18 so there is as difference, while bitcoin is volatile not staying in 0. something in dollars but always stay for four DIGIT.

Cycle of earning again. BTC goes up and Altcoins goes down.

That is if the people will not convert from bitcoin to fiat currency. Take for example  during panic last time when China announce something like banning cryptocurrency.
People holding bitcoins convert it to fiat currency and those holding altcoins trade with bitcoins then convert it to fiat.
The result? bitcoins goes down together with altcoins.
But now bitcoins recovered as well as altcoins.  Smiley

present in trading market bit coins has great demand it has no particular time every day it's price going to increase. whenever you have to invest in bit coin. and next one is alt coins keeping investment in alt coins is really good for earning profit. actually when bit coins grow up then alt coins then alt coins falls down. when bit coins stay stable then alt coins in that time alt coins go up. and finally when bit coins fall then automatically fall. so it has relation so maintain very carefully bot h coins.

Although the fact you stated above is most probably true, it is not always the same. There are also times when I have seen Bitcoin and Altcoins increase at the same time and vice versa. So it is not absolute indirectly proportional but co-relational. There are some factors that derive the relation between Bitcoin and Altcoin and depends on the market situation whether the Altcoins will increase or decrease according to the Bitcoin fluctuations.

Whenever bitcoin price goes up, generally altcoin price goes down because altcoins behave opposite of bitcoin. There are some instances when btc and altcoins go in the same direction but that happens very rarely. Altcoins goes up only when btc price stable or downward because whenever btc start upward direction, people start buying btc and selling altcoins so altcoins go down more.

There was a time a few months ago when although coins could be in great without btc movement. Recently though, bitcoin just drags them with it. If bitcoin is down, often although coins are hit even harder, if it's up then the follow on afterwards against US but often struggle to catch up in the Btc trade pairing. Only a couple of the top 20-3. Coins have increased in that respect over last few months.

I think now the trend has been changed previously when the price of Bitcoin increases the value of Altcoin will also increase. As of now the value of altcoin is kept reducing in the market, altcoins are also not increasing their value with increase price of bitcoin.

Not all times that when bitcoin increases altcoin also increases. It has been a week that bitcoin is high and most of the altcoins are in red flag.  Maybe because most people sold their altcoins for them to have bitcoin in their walllet for the upcoming fork.
