I figured I would start a topic specifically for the Distributor as they will be around for a while. The goal being maybe a REP will monitor this thread; no guarantees.
As of today they are currently selling New Avalon 741's shipping out on November 20th. Personally I have had several orders processed with them and they have all gone smooth. My first was with Paypal; that option has disapeared but they still take credit card which is all I needed for my other orders.

The last one for November 6th shipping was a bit more difficult as they now require anyone outside the US to make the shipping arrangements; but they have been helpful in directing me in what I need to do on my end as I haven't done this before.

Here is the link to their website.

For international shipping do we have to provide any additional documents to sales@minerwarez.com and how do they look like?

It depends on your country, what I was doing was checking in with customs office in Canada to see what forms I need to get together to import something. Every country has different forms and rules for bringing items in; I'm pretty sure that's why they've changed the model for international shipping. You can also ask the shipping company you plan on using what you need, I've been speaking with FedEx, as that's how my other orders were shipped.

If they sent you an order previously, you could always ask their support line what forms they had to fill out to ship to you, just provide them with your order number. I have found lately they take 2-3 days to reply by email.

Something that makes a huge difference when importing into the US is the Harmonized Item shipping code. Depending on your country they might look at that as well. Miners are considered to be "Data Processing Machine, no terminal or display' and as such have much lower tariff than general electronics goods. If you have gotten miners direct from China in the past - look at the shippers and the codes are there.

Anyway - check to see if it matters when importing from US to your country.

I previously imported few miner PSUs from China to Bulgaria(EU) with DHL. All of the additional documents I had to provide for the customs clearance were arranged between me and the local office of DHL after they made a call to me to give me the options. That's why now I'm curious do I have to provide any additional document to minerwarez or this will be arranged between me and my local office of FedEx when my miners come to Bulgaria. Why do they want
Quote
BOL, customs paperwork or any other necessary documents
if they(minerwarez) actually does not provide customs clearance? It is done by FedEx(eventually).

From what I've gathered so far, you would do just that. Arrange everything with your local FedEx office. Once they tell you all the forms required for shipping and you get them filled out, you have to send the shipping and clearance documents to Minerwarez through that email.

Yes that is what you need to declare for the item entering your country. That is what customs will look into as you pay tax and duty and items imported.

I noticed today that they are no longer taking orders for Avalon 741s for November 20th. The new batch is for December 5th.

My only problem with this company is I tried to buy their AV6 and asked if they would do a discount in bulk. Their reply was:

Quote
I recommend that you purchase the 12 package deal.  You receive (12) AvalonMiner 6, PSU's, and all accessories needed to mine.

We do not offer any other discounts except for this package.

I responded and told them I do not need their PSU's as I have plenty on hand.

 Their reply was:

Quote
.......
Absolutely nothing. Therefore this led me to the conclusion they are trying to unload it all, and offer no return, no service, no warranty, and I have to take their package as it is. I get that, but if you are honestly trying to unload a shitton of old miners, don't you think any company in their right mind would budge? Who the hell wants a bunch of dead ass PSU's or miners especially when you have plenty of PSU's on hand?!?!?!

Hell, at least when a person buys a used car they get to drive it!!! I am supposed to just buy a pallet of shit and pray??? Nope. Not for me.

I dunno, but it left a horrible taste in my mouth and turned me off. Ill stick with Bitmain and all their BS over that.

I am really trying to reason why Canaan is better, but I don't see it. AT ALL.

Yeah I could see that, I always try to get a deal anytime I'm buying something, and it does suck when you can't find any wiggle room. I looked at the used units, and didn't like the no warranty, all sales final bit, then I thought about it; and figured that's the same deal I would get on any used equipment. They probably got to the point where they are still making money on them and are looking to unload the equipment; but aren't worried if they do or not.

I only tried to deal with Bitmain a little, and they weren't really helpful, so I opted out of buying through them. For me the reliability was the biggest concern for my equipment so I just gathered the info form the forum and went with Canaan.

I've been pleased other than the inititial F**k around in September where they could have been much more transparent. Since then they've responded well and handled any issues I've had within a respectable amount of time. So I'm glad I went that route.

I'm not sure but I think that's one of the spaces I was looking at to move into a year back, when I relocated to Washington from Iowa.
Same complex anyway as one space I looked at.

Interesting. Not too far from Giga-Watt. Now if only Giga-Watt would offer Avalon miners as an option...

Back when Gigawatt was still MegaBigPower, they had at least one mining farm in Wenatchee somwhere - but I think their bigger farm(s) were on the other side of the river somewhere.

The new Gigawatt farm IS on the other side of the river, near the East Wenatchee airport in an adjacent industrial park.

Giga-Watt has two sites listed on their timeline page, so I wonder if one of those is the old MegaBigPower, or if both of them are near the airport.

On Topic: I'm hoping that the new Avalon 14TH(est) miner is going to be offered by GigaWatt. If not I will buy one from Minerwarez and have them deliver it to GigaWatt.

Interesting timeline - I wonder why they're talking about a Moses Lake location when they HAD been saying they were building up in East Wenatchee.

(edit) - never mind, the Pangborn location would be their East Wenatchee spot - Pangborn airport IN East Wenatchee.

Wish I'd noticed that a couple days ago, I was just down IN Moses Lake yesterday running errands, and the airport would have been a short side trip to check out (like the side trip I made to check out Toomin Brothers, but they understandably don't do tours for folks that aren't hosting there).

What customs paper are you filling out and sending Minerwarez ?

The whole thing is so confusing, why are they making it more confusing when it's such a simple process to import a single device.....

In Australia we only fill out a declaration when the product arrives and submit it electronically.. Why are we supposed to send this form to Minerwarez ? The customs officer told me you only fill it out when the product arrives and write down the shipment ref nr for receipt of items. I don't see why we need to send this paper to the exporter it's not their business.

And for labeling ? In the requirements it is said for electronic goods you only need to type the product description in clear English, include origin country and HS code and that's it. So in my case I'm just supposed to send an A4 paper with description and originating country ? I told them to write it on the box and haven't got any reply. Seriously how hard could it be to just grab a pen and write 3 words instead I'm asked to send an international priority letter writing it for them. Also auspost said they don't have a label for importing. Just wtf is going on !!?Huh

I can't speak to Australia, but your best bet is to go to your local FedEx or ups and tell them what you are trying to do. Then get all documents that they say you will need such as international shipping label, and a word document stating what is inside. Then as per the information on the product page for the miners email it to them.

That should atleast get it shipped and to Australia, not sure how your country handles duty and taxes, but whoever ships it for you should be able to sort it out.

Hope that helps.

That helps, thanks mate. It's just odd that I have to pay like $280 for a 16*8*9 inches box that weighs 11lbs international shipment.... With customs and VAT added itll come to 500 or 600 USD or something which is almost more than the price for the product itself. Plus the emissions, heat, noise. Absolute bullshit.

We are seeing it in the US as well. Customs all over Bitmain or any miner company for that matter. UPS, FEDEX, DHL... dont make a fuck. They want cash when they deliver, and your social or fed tax id to even release it here in the US.

 Total Bullshit, I agree.

I received another set of 741s today from Minerwarez.  Unlike the prior batches, most of the boxes came pre-opened!  I can tell they were taped shut at one point, but someone very clearly opened most of them.

I haven't opened all of them yet, but those I did appear to be new units, with everything intact.  However it's a bit disconcerting to receive items that were clearly opened.

Did anyone else have this?

Same here, this is my first Avalon. I thought at first it wasn't taped or Fedex guy opened it up. But now reading your post, it does make sense now.

I emailed Minerwarez about it and they said:

Quote
It's routine for our technicians to open the AvalonMiner 741 when we receive from China to make sure the AUC3 cards have been flashed and are ready to go.

I'm unclear why half of mine were opened and half weren't.  But... that's okay if that's what it was.

Yeah mine arrived today and it was the same deal. I'm kinda glad they did, as the last couple that arrived some were missing cables, but I had enough kicking around that it didn't make a difference, just depleted all my spare parts.

I used to just chalk it up to Customs or something poking around to see that the package is what it is supposed to be.

Hi there,

I just responded to you in the other thread, try to avoid posting the same question on multiple threads.

Also this thread is more reserved solely for distributor issues or information.

I'll post more info into your other question know that I know the idle lights are on.

I guess there has been some problems with the AUC3 adapters and that's why Minerwarez is doing some additional quality control job.

minerwarez.com is offline

They still look online to me.

Has anyone ordered from the Nov 20 sale?  I wonder if the orders will be shipped on time.

M

I ordered from the Nov 6 batch and the Nov 20 batch.  For the Nov 6 batch the label was created on Fri Nov 3 and picked up by FedEx ontime on Mon Nov 6.  My hosting location is in the same city so it was frustrating knowing my miners were likely just a few blocks away from where they needed to be and had to wait until Tues to be delivered.  But from Minerwarez they were completely ontime and by the book.

For my Nov 20 order I haven't received any contact yet, but I suspect it to be the same rodeo again this weekend of watching the tracking move only a few blocks over a 5 day period.

For two of my orders they actually shipped and delivered early.  I guess I was one of the first ones in the queue for that batch.

What customs paper are you filling out and sending Minerwarez ?

The whole thing is so confusing, why are they making it more confusing when it's such a simple process to import a single device.....

In Australia we only fill out a declaration when the product arrives and submit it electronically..

Most of us are NOT in Australia.
The rules and requirements for importing miners vary WIDELY from country to country.

In the USA in particular, the rules get a LOT more stringent if you import more than $2500 or so in one shipment - and they get CHECKED a lot more carefully for enforcement.

So one short delay on one batch and the sky is falling? Typical bitcoiner logic.

Stop buying industrial miners, running them at home, and then complaining about the noise.

The Neptune was a fiasco at least in part because it burnt connectors on a frequent basis due to overloading them.

One "delay" of "one batch" on a miner that has been shipping for many months and mostly working reliably is not even on the same PLANET, much less in the same ballpark.

I received shipping labels yesterday that my 20-November batch will ship on 30-Nov.  Considering it's a holiday week this wasn't too bad of a delay.  I'm still hoping Steve sends us something special due to the delay.  It would be awesome if he allows us early access to purchase the A8 when released. Back before Canaan stopped shipping in small quantities, I had ordered a large number from them.  A month - yes, a full month - later they emailed indicating they weren't allowed to ship small quantities anymore, and I should use their distributor (minerwarez).  I lost over a month of mining time because of that fiasco.  Along with a bunch of other people.

Steve apologized and said he'd try to help expedite my orders from minerwarez.  As far as I know I didn't get any special treatment.

FWIW, I believe the problem I refer to above was beyond their control.  The chinese government laid down some rules and all the sudden they couldn't ship to small people like me.

So, be glad your delay is 10 days.  Mine was about 45. Sad

Canaan, and Minerwarez, have done the best that they could have in a shitty situation.

I'd say that we should all hope that other manufacturers begin to take note and follow suit with a customer service model that actually provides us with some visibility at to what the hell is going on with our miners.

I received the email from Minerwarez stating the 2 week delay and shrugged my shoulders. Having purchased from them previously I have no concern that they'll come through this time as well.

Getting nervous, My order was supposed to ship out on Dec 5 and here it is Dec 19 and I just got a email stating there is still delay.

They did offer a refund in USD but I paid with coin, The 0.41085399 coin I paid is now worth 7k as of today and if I get a refund in USD  that does not give me enough to order from a distributor who does have units on hand!

I have purchased miners from another vendor and will continue to wait for Minerwarez to ship the 3 I ordered. But I had to pay double the price for the ones I am installing now!

I understand the laws of supply and demand but I used an official distributor so I would not have this issue..  At least I am not at at the end of the rope as I did find some other units. In fact here is a photo of me installing them.

I ordered on October 25th. The December 5th shipping.havn not received them.
I also noticed that blokforge released and sold out a small batch of 741’s today (12/26/2017) and they’re shipping the 5th of Jan or something.

But those are gone too.

I got the email on the 19th also. I hope to get an email of shipment soon.

You guys are all getting off topic, please limit conversation to Minerwarez and their service and products.

Also be wary of this random offer like Mdude77 said these units are sold out everywhere, the last units available sold out in minutes through an official distributor.

Use Escrow, take precautions, if you do plan on selling items, move your post to the marketplace.

Ugh! I haven’t heard anything since the 19th of December.
I wish they would tell us what happened, what the delay is, how long it’s actually going to be.

So everyone on the November shipping date got there’s?

I ordered the December 5th shipping.

But at this point they don’t have a solid date.

Here is the verbiage below from this link on Canaan’s website titled “821 Announcment”

https://canaan.io/821annoucement/

Avalon 741 is end of life: the last batch is being produced and is promised to customers/distributors who will receiving their final shipments shortly.

Avalon 761, our solution with integrated PSU  is likewise End of Life. The last batch is being built and will ship out in early Jan.

To me this means I should get my miners soon as I ordered the 741’s from Minerwarez on October 25th.

Not exactly, while the 741's are end of life, they were still taking the pre-orders for the last amounts of stock to clean up the production line. I didn't have any orders in for the December batches. Who are you talking to at Minerwarez? If you are still getting no answers to new emails you might want to email Canaan to escalate the situation a little. You can look for Steven Mosher in the main Avalon thread, he is the Canaan Rep who pops on the forum from time to time.

I wish I could say who I’m talking to, but the only email or contact I have for them is sales@minerwarez.com

They’ve stated they don’t have a solid date yet. They were for the December 5th batch.

But how does this statement mean anything different.

So, if they were taking pre-orders for the last amount of stock, how can they be delayed? By four weeks almost?

I don't know, they did say that there were issues with shipment delays but that was in November, so I would follow my previous advice and contact them or Canaan with your order number. Continuing to post essentially the same question won't get you anywhere. They do not monitor this thread.

I hear you man, I did as you advised. I just don’t want minerwarez to cancel my order as they’ve stated they have the right to do so.

Has minerwarez confirmed their stance on the Avalon 821?

Blokforge has been very vocal but we haven’t heard a word from minerwarez, even though they were the first US distributor.

I ordered two 741s from them back in September/October and received them with no problem. Since then... it seems people are having issues and not hearing back. I'm a bit wary of minerwarez at the moment, but BlokForge has been outstanding in terms of communication and transparency.

Don't get me wrong, if I see MinerWarez process and fulfill all their outstanding orders, I'll be happy to do business with them again.

Minerwarez and / or Canaan has oversold the 741s. I’ve ordered 6 of them on October 25th and all I’ve got is 3 emails about delays then after they’ve held my money for 70 days they want to give me a “deal on some 821s”

And wait another 3 months. I am so disappointed in Minerwarez. And Canaan.

I would place the blame squarely on Canaan.  They did the same thing a number of months back before they had official resellers.  It took them a month to tell me they oversold and can no longer ship small quantities and could not fill my orders.  Fortunately I hadn't paid for them yet.

If they can’t fill an order of 6 I doubt they can support their 90 day warranty. This is extremely bad for Canaan.

Dang, that sounds awfully familiar to the old BFL - pay a slight fee and get a new product they're developing.

Get a refund.

I may have to, but, being an investor other than losing completely the worst thing I can do is let them sit on my money for 70 days for nothing.

Thus far I’ve sent Steve Mosher 3 emails! It’s been since last Wednesday I believe. So he still has ample time to respond.

Yes this very strange and now with information of a new US Distributor being added, i wonder if minerwarez is being replaced all together. Seems very odd, but i have read that people have had issues including shipping and getting badly used miners sent to them from minerwarez. Like running in a barn bad.

I’d take running in a barn at this point.

But yeah, if the miner warez guy really runs his own mining farm / data center.

There might be reason to suspect foul play.

All I know is that they’ve had my Money since October 25th and they haven’t answered a single one of my questions.

Minerwarez does have a farm but it is very clean and if miners were running in there you would certainly not receive them filled with gunk.

Stop buying industrial miners, running them at home, and then complaining about the noise.

yeah that is crazy. Obviously keep trying to reach Steven... I decided to purchase from Cryptouniverse.at in Austria because i had a feeling i wasnt going to be able to get one from Blokforge since they always announce their pre-orders. I happened to check on the EU distro page and they had one in stock and decided to pull the trigger back on the 18th i believe, it is currently being shipped. Only thing was that the shipping fees were high to i paid about 175 bucks more than blokforge and i also will have to pay 50 or so in duty.

Well when I ordered them they were the only North America Distributor on their site.
Blokforge came later, and I’ve already received better support from Nick at Blokforge and I hadn’t even ordered anything yet.

I guess the foul play I was suggesting as suspect is that since the price of the miners have skyrocketed since I ordered them he’s running them at his data center and screwing the customers. Offering “discounted 821s” in another 1/4 year

for Canaan, Steve helped me for a order made in july, finaly received in september, it was for a single 741, just before they stop shipping small order.
For Minerwarez, the late november batch was only delayed a few days, and they provide a very good support for importation process.
It's easy to say, but don't behave like me in august, while I was thinking that I was the victim of a scam, keep in mind that in that period lot of people are on holidays, and I hope that the difficulties you face will disappear as soon as possible !

Yeah this whole thing is super sketchy, I ordered some 741s from the December 28th batch back in November, heard nothing until December 19th when they sent an email saying they were "very sorry", supply issues yada yada, but they would still be fulfilling the orders late and giving us $100 coupons towards 841s to make up for it. I was mostly OK with that.

Then the next communication we get on 2nd Jan saying "GREAT NEWS EVERYONE! Canaan really stepped up!"...only the news wasn't great at all, it basically said our orders that were paid in full are now considered "deposits" towards 841s and we had until Jan 15th to decide if we wanted to take advantage of this fantastic once in a life time chance to upgrade to the 841 at an unspecified "discount price" for a "projected" March delivery, with payment for this nebulous offer to be made in full by Jan 30th. I mean I might even be tempted to take their deal, but how can we make a decision when they haven't told us what the cost to "upgrade" from our "deposit" is?

To me it smells like they decided they sold the December 741s too cheap ($898+delivery) after the Bitcoin price exploded so decided to keep them or sell through alternative channels and cry supply issues, and now they are lining us up for miners which will undoubtedly cost at least 3x what we paid for the 741s as a way of covering their asses by "doing the right thing".

Have you managed to get in contact with them yesterday? I found a phone number for them through Amex, the lady who answered sounded very surprised that I hd called and said they could not help as they were just an "affiliated company" - and gave me an alternative number to call, which went through to Salcedo Enterprises LLC (Nevada). I did press her to tell me how they were affiliated and she said "common owners". Haven't had any luck getting in touch with anyone otherwise

Sounds like they oversold, i.e. sold more units they could deliver. Ask for refund. Don't accept any silly coupons.

So did you get a refund? I know this is so much bullshit I might just have to go with Bitmain.

for Canaan, Steve helped me for a order made in july, finaly received in september, it was for a single 741, just before they stop shipping small order.

Thanks man I appreciate that. I am believing for the best.

Same, and no luck on getting either a price on the 841 or a refund. Sad

I'll wait until the 15th, if they haven't gotten back to me by then I guess I'll have to go to my credit card company. Sigh.

I just got an email from minerwarez. they say the price is $2898 each.
so, I bought (2) A741 for $1600 total and they are 7.3TH x 2 = 14.6 TH.
Now I have to pay $2898 for one A821 that gives you only 11 TH.
WTF is this?? we shlould sue them for holding our money and use it.

copy of the emal:
Avalon 821 Purchase update for unfilled December orders:
Thank you again for your patience and understanding.  Canaan has made this special allotment available and, as communicated, this offer is available only for the number of miners previously paid for (i.e. for each Avalon 741 unit ordered, paid for, and not filled in December, customers can order one unit at the discounted rate).
The orders will be sent out in March 2018 and the price per unit is $2,898.00 USD (retail orders will open in April at a higher projected price point).  Customers wishing to order the Avalon 821 will be asked to make full payment by January 31st, 2018.  We look forward to hearing from you by January 15th, 2018.  Any outstanding order not specifying will be refunded for their December 741 order.  All requests for refund will be honored.
Below is the information provided by Canaan Creative for the Avalon 821.  We ask that you remain cordial in your interactions with our staff and with Canaan’s sales team.
Sincerely,
Minerwarez

Let your money speak for you.  Just get a refund.  I guarantee if the situation reversed itself and the cost of miners was lower than what you paid, you wouldn't get a refund for the difference.  I really despise preordering gear after going through the Butterfly Labs fiasco.

I'd rather pay a premium for something in hand than put money on a future purchase.  They're essentially selling mining "futures" that only pays one way (pays them).

Very stupid and knee-jerk comment as they have clearly said you can get a full refund if you want it. You *do* realize that taking the legal route for this is pointless because of the full refund offer, right? Have fun finding a lawyer who would represent ya...

I just got the same email and I am pissed.   I paid them .39 BTC total for 3 units and they will not refund my .39 they will only give me todays exchange rate..

Now they want me to pay them another 6k to get the 821 units..   That is over triple the price I paid them for the original units yet not even double the hash power..

In my eyes MinerWarez is a fraud point blank!!!!!

I am going to tell them to refund my money and the next batch of miners I purchase will be 841s and directly from Canaan. Until the point that the 841 is released I will run what I have purchased from my unofficial vendor who in fact just got a shipment of 160 in yesterday.

For all those who feel the need to comment about the fact that I have purchased from an unofficial vendor save your breath and shove your comments..  Here is a photo of the units we picked up 10 days or so ago..

Yes, it's completely ridiculous, basically tantamount to a slap in the face. I for one will never be buying anything from MinerWarez again, and possibly not Canaan either.

I'm one of the lucky ones in that I paid by credit card, I really feel bad for those that paid in BTC and are now being offered USD based refunds. Sad

It's borderline theft if you ask me, a risk-free BTC holding for MinerWarez for which they get to profit on the huge BTC rise from October without having to put the USD in to get it. You know for a fact if the BTC price had gone down below the USD value when you paid you'd be getting a refund in BTC not USD. Not cool.

I'm going to ask for a refund, obviously, but I'm also going to flag the MinerWarez transaction with my credit card company. A small black mark against their payment gateway is the least I can do for them.

Ha Ha,,,  I just noticed this when writing my request to cancel my MinerWarez order.

MinerWarez says that they are giving every one a super good deal on the 821 units of $2,898.00 USD

But if you were to go to Canaan the retail price of 160 units is $173,100.00.

173,100.00 / 160 = 1081.875

So the cost has not gone up that much! They are just trying to screw us!!!!

So this is a copy paste of a post I made in another thread and I think it is still relevant here. It has been cut to suit this topic

Here's the thing I find funny.

Everyone seems to forget that this is a business that deals in let's call it "boutique" electronics. They have to find a balance between sale price, and their costs; which include: salaries to employees, initial hardware costs, and warehouse costs such as electricity, internet, phone etc. Not to mention big surprise... profit, no one runs a business to break even.

Sincerely,
Minerwarez

So, obviously, the clear intention is to offer 741 buyers such a shitty deal that only a moron would accept it, therefore, nearly everyone will take the refund - and Minerwarez walks away with a nice fat profit in the difference between BTC vs. USD. Essentially a guaranteed arbitrage profit.

So what we need to do is figure out how much money would be lost vs. hiring an attorney with a decent chance of winning a class action lawsuit.

That's really the only way justice would be served.
As for me, I'm willing to LOSE money to see justice done.

Do the things you know you must do first, then worry about the stuff you're not sure about.

If any one can find a attorney willing to attempt at proving that I would preemptively sign all of my monitory rights of the suit over to them just to see a point made! At this point the damage is done and I have already sourced my goods, my anger would be at bay just to know they did not get to keep the difference in coin I lost!

I look at it like this, At our current mining rate by the time the 841 units are on the market I will have stacked enough coin to buy from Canaan and MinerWarez will be a speck on my rear bumper!

Another idea is to make sure that any potential Minerwarez/Caanan customer knows about this horseshit.

Creating multiple pages on social media such as Facebook, youtube, Reddit, Digg, etc. with a title 'Minerwarez/Caanan 741 scam' not only gets eyes on the page itself but ranks highly on the search engines when someone is searching for a company/product.

If you are willing to spend a little time/$, you can either use automated software or pay a decent SEO guy to do some 'blackhat' SEO for very little $.

Do the things you know you must do first, then worry about the stuff you're not sure about.

I’m writing out my story and then sending it to 2700 journalists 30% of which write specifically
about cryptos.

And no, no I will never ever purchase a Canaan product again. Regardless if it’s “MinerWarez”  fault.

They represent Canaan and Canaan have not due diligence.

And to the offer us a price that is clearly bulk resellers retail.

Lol. The only reason I haven’t asked for a refund yet is because I was hoping they’d do the right thing but now they’ve
crossed the line.  This is insulting! Seriously I can’t believe I ordered from a place with its circa 2001 warez name.

The fact that they strung us along and kept promising us shipments is the crime here.

Well, I don’t mind seeing Canaan fail again.

I’m writing out my story and then sending it to 2700 journalists 30% of which write specifically
about cryptos.

And no, no I will never ever purchase a Canaan product again. Regardless if it’s “MinerWarez”  fault.

You should share that list, or forward them to this thread. I have started to post the following text where ever i can.

___________________________________________

www.MinerWarez.com is an absolute scam! Go to BitcoinTalk and look up the review thread on them.

I ordered Bitcoin mining units from them, I paid .39 BTC for miners on Oct-23-2017 for an order that was supposed to ship on Dec-5-2017. Delay after Delay brings us to Jan-9-2018 when we are told we will not get our A741 units we ordered because they are EOL! If we want to upgrade to A821 units we will need to pay the difference of approx $2000 USD by the end of Jan-2018 and the miners would have a ETA of March-2018.

If I take a refund then I don't get my .39 BTC back I only get 0.157275 BTC or what ever the given exchange rate is right now for $2500.

First of all the good deal they are telling every one the are getting is no better than what is on the Canaan website for a 60 unit retail pack.

And on a Screw up this bad any company worthy of being a multi country distributor should not ask for any money until the product is ready to ship!!

If you are looking to secure Canaan Miners you should group up and buy direct from Canaan and forget about MinerWarez as they are just a rusty cog in the wheel.

I have purchased several units from a unauthorized source who purchased direct from Canaan this source has gotten two shipments in while the official distributor MinerWarez can not even get a shipment in that was prepaid for by the end users!

My experience with MinerWarez was absolutely horrible!

SMH

Your math is a little off there, those pallets are 60 units.

OOps...

173,100.00 / 60 = 2885

So they are not trying to screw us but they are still not giving any good deal it is just normal price!!

Yeah except the pallet for $173,100 comes with 60x controllers 60x AUC3 converter cables and 60x power supplies. Yep.

So, there’s not only is there no discount. You will actually pay as much as a combo kit.and wait 4 weeks longer than any other distributor..

So there you have it, the entire explanation in a nutshell. why pay retail when you can pay more for less!

do not buy anything from Minerwarez neather from Canaan. I email them yesterday about the issue but they did not care at all.
here is their email:

The reply message:

I am sorry for your situation.

we do not retail now, so, if your order is less than 60, you have to buy from distributor.

The reason why distributor Minerwarez increase the price dramatically may be that our A821 price is higher than A741.

You can see price on our website      https://canaan.io/shop/ . BUT     Our price is not high, compared to other competitors brand. You can check on the Internet.  The demand for miners in the market is extremely strong.

What's more, the performance not only depend on the hashrate , the power consumption is also very important.

A741 is 7.3TH/S, the power consumption is 1150w.  A821 is 11TH/S , but the power consumption is ALMOST THE SAME:1200W.  So, the performance do increase A LOT.

I know you did not get your A741, but we have limited inventory and SO MANY MANY people want it.  I am sorry you miss that .

In addition, we do want to help you. But once the product is shipped to distributor, we can not restrict how they sell ,even the price.

Therefore, I think you can take refund or pay more to get a miner, it is not easy to get miner.

Hope my answers are helpful to you.

Best regards

Ann

what do you think? me I am pised and will never ever buy anything from CANAAN. you will waste your time and they will use your money to make money and give it to you back after months. free money for them.no interest, nothing.

It's not really Canaan's fault, it's MinerWarez. They are the ones really at fault here. That said given the specs, price and availability of the 821 vs the Antminer S9 I can't really see any reason to buy them.

Okay so this discussion has gone off topic.

The issue with your orders has been noted. And the posts will be left in place.

Feel free to start  a thread in service discussion or wherever else you see fit regarding your feelings about minerwarez, or Canaan.

Just to let you know Mr NotFuzzyWarm, I do not want the money. I want the miner and that why I bought it. I would have kept my money.
Well then take it as a 'Welcome to the crypto miner world' and deal with it.

For those bitching about exchange rate differences, all the Courts care about is what was the price in USD at time of sale - not the price of a floating currency. Doesn't matter if you paid in BTC, Gold, Silver, or pork bellies the USD value at the time is all that will be counted. You paid x amount of $$ and that is what will be refunded or used as a credit.

No they are charging you the normal WHOLESALE price vs what their retail price will be after a wholly justified markup. You think running a retail business is a near zero-sum game?

I understand markup, and I know they get a better deal than what is listed as retail! When I tell my customers I am giving you one hell of a deal because we screwed the pooch they cannot find a better price any where! That is why I am so pissed because they blatantly screwed the pooch and act like its no big deal while they tell us how good they are treating us. Yet any person ordering a pallet can get the same deal.

I will be standing in their office in a few days if I do not get my refund! If I do not get in while in their office I will go file charges for wire fraud!

I did end up getting my refund. It posted to my wallet day before yesterday, I been running around constructing another mine and kept forgetting to post here that they did process the refund.

I do think it is shitty that I only got .18 bitcoin back when I paid the .39.  And this is why, When I fly to the UAE and purchase a bit of electronics if it fails and I ship it back from any place in the world my refund is made to the original card I used and is for the original amount. If I purchase a item from home depot that is on sale for $10 at the time of purchase then return that item when it is not on sale I only get the $10 sale price back. Same thing goes if I purchase a item for $15 and return it but the item is on sale for $10 when I return it I still get my $15 back. So it seams that the president is already set in the retail market place that when you request a refund you refund is all ways in the original amount paid.

For the fact that they screwed me out of .11 in bitcoin I consider MinerWarez a Fraud!! I will likely spend time and money to publicly campaign against them and use this purchase as the root!

I can see your frustration, did they provide a reason for the subtraction? It seems they are playing with the conversion rate to USD and that is WRONG. No way I will deal with them.

Guys, you pay for a product listed in USD.
Its clear that the nominal BTC value changes - most of these Crypto payment providers even transform the Cryptos directly into the dollar amount at the time of payment.

Here is an example of people getting really screwed.

https://news.bitcoin.com/mt-gox-bankruptcy-claimants-are-not-happy-with-possible-distribution-outcome/

This was well before I got into crypto but it was around the time I first thought about getting involved.

Like others have said regardless of how you paid the price is in relation to the USD. I myself being Canadian, would not receive my full refund in CAD depending on how it is paid my refund would reflect the exchange rate.

Had the price crashed you would still be entitled to a USD rate refund and would be able to fight for that.

Again no one who orderd has to be happy about how things turned out, but it is nice to see that the refunds as promised have been sent out.

That's why I asked if they provided a reason for the subtraction. If the USD amount was the same before and after then yes, what you say makes sense. **But** doesn't that go against what we're trying to do here? Use Bitcoin, or any other coin for that matter, as a currency? Playing games around exchange rates is just wrong.

If they paid in BTC they should get a refund in BTC, THE SAME DAMN AMOUNT. You are defending something ABSURD. I wonder if things were the other way around would they give him MORE bitcoin to repay the amount in USD? i doubt it very much

Hey, so I've left minerwarez a contact on their website asking them to come here to do some damage control. Who knows if they want to keep their virtual doors open and continue to do business in the space, but it never hurts to ask.

I would suggest each of you go to their website and fill out the contact form and ask them to come here to engage with their customers and make an attempt at damage control.

Nah, fuck em. They suck. They’ve proved they’re shittiness and ass fuckery.

I know for a fact the guy that runs miner warez took the miners We purchased and added them to his farm in wenatchee washington.

And then offered refunds because he don’t want to pay 1500 Dollars for a piece of shit 7.3 TH pile of crap from Canaan.

Minerwarez is offering the 821 March preorder for $3,500 each, paid in BTC, and you have to order 10 minimum.  Was this posted a few weeks ago?  Anyone know if the price will be reset anytime?  The other two+ distributors had lower pricing and better payment options for that batch?

S9s are going $3,500 on ebay at the moment   Shocked

I wish they would come hear and address some of the issues.  Particularly disturbing is the claim that customer 741s ended up in their mine.  I would like that to either be substantiated or refuted.  Pretty serious claim IMO...

I won’t refute it. The guy owns a huge mining farm. I mean, I’m not a psychic but, well... where the fuck did our miners go? Hmmm.

MR. Miner warez should come here and refute it. Otherwise I will continue to spread the only logical explanation that he’s using the miners myself and a lot of others paid for and waited for 3 months. To not get.

MinerWarez is a scam. Ask my credit card company.. they said it’s fraud!

Same here as well.
Shame as it tarnishes how I feel about Canaan as well, since they are an official Distributor.

T9 already shipped and I haven't had a reply back yet.

I wish they would come hear and address some of the issues.  Particularly disturbing is the claim that customer 741s ended up in their mine.  I would like that to either be substantiated or refuted.  Pretty serious claim IMO...

Im pretty sure they either resold the 741s or used them on their mine. Blokforge shipped all the sold 741 units while Minerwarez gave customers some crappy excuse. Heck blokforge had 741s even on january

I requested my order be refunded about 24 hours ago and I have NO RESPONSE and NO REFUND!

Same here.  Angry

Same here as well.
Shame as it tarnishes how I feel about Canaan as well, since they are an official Distributor.
Purchased a T9 from Bitmain when I sent the email for a refund from Minerwarez
T9 already shipped and I haven't had a reply back yet.

Totally Tarnishes how I feel about Canaan. When I ordered the miners, “or should I say when I let MinerWarez take $5000 Of USD to fuck around with for 3 months” they were the only North American distributor on the website.

Meanwhile Bitmain shipped three batches of S9s and yes even BLOKFORGE, popped up on their site and HOLY SHIT they even had some for people in February. So Miner Warez is just a HUGE SCAM Shady ass POS company. And if Canaan still lists them as a distributor I won’t buy from Canaan until they ban those bastards. Not expecting that, so... well Bitmain you’ve proven to be a better company here. And that’s seriously sad I can honestly say that.

I would love to see a response from both MinerWarez and Canaan on this.

I sent Canaan a email when all this went down and never got a response from Canaan..

I me shit we own 210 Avalon 741 units now you figure owning that much of a companies product you could get some one to reply to your concerns.
