Yes in present we only have two main uses of bitcoin, investment and trading. Although bitcoin is created as online currency, but in most of the places still people do not have the facilities to use bitcoin as currency and therfore they are mostly holding bitcoin for trading and for investment purposes.

Bitcoin is also a major platform use to invest in ICO project, its also a means of savings for a secured future.Bitcoin has a high returen compare to Gold, reason why alot of younf people diversify into using it as a means of investment.
Butcoin is for financial transactions which can be done online. This is a very convenient way to do our purchasing and payments online. Also, bitcoin could also be a form of investment. Since it is a cryptocurrency, this has been a fad and will surely boom again in the near future. |

I'm just using bitcoin for long-term investments, I'm not interested in using as a currency or a transaction because I'm sure that someday bitcoin's price becomes very expensive and I'll get a big profit someday.

The most common uses of bitcoin for me is to make any transaction fast and help people to save their money in bitcoin because the money that has been invested or saved in bitcoin will growth without doing anything just by hold it that can encourage many investors to invest and increase the value of bitcoin so that they can be able to received a big amount of profit in the future.

you can buy clothes , computer ,cars and houses to pay with bitcoins. it's a currency , and more and more businesses accept bitcoin . you can take cash at bitcoin ATM . you are also using bitcoin toexchange other cryptocurrencies on the exchange .

Are there many retailers that accept bitcoin? I haven't come across it yet. People on this thread have said you can use it to buy and sell almost anything; that's true, as long as the person/company on the other end accepts it. Many don't.

Bitcoin's most common use is definitely as a store of value. Infact, it's probably the best in the world at that. But until volatility calms down & major roadblocks like scale-ability are resolved, it'll never get widespread adoption as an actual currency

At the moment the most common use of Bitcoin is using it as a store of value, expecting that sooner or later the price will increase again and you'll make some nice profits. Before the Visa or Mastercard debit cards were blocked, it was also easily spent everywhere these cards were accepted (million of shops in the world and everywhere on the internet). I'm still waiting for this possibility to be again available... |

The difficult part is not what Bitcoin can buy because the reality is it can be used to purchase anything. The difficult part is finding reputable businesses in willing to accept bitcoin. There are many sites purely set up to take your Bitcoin and never get the product you order. It is the sad reality.
