200% indeed is remarkable, however there is a POS hard cap of 200 TRK per block. So, split your coins a bit into several addresses to get the whole 200%.

It just does not sound sustainable. Especially for those who are late to the party.

Don't mean to sound like an ass, but if you can read : its " up to 200%". Its not actually 200%. Plus everyone gets the same percentage, whether you're new or not. So yeah please rethink your false accusations.

But, as with several other long lived POS coins This is quite the enjoyable long game which, with smart play, can pay off very nicely. It's definitely not for the "I just bought some when is the pump" brigade It's a longer strategy I'm getting the impression that because this is a new thread people are thinking this is a new coin ... Loooong way from it.

I don't get it why you call it scam. This project proved already that is NOT through its long live. It has a stable chain, wallet works flawless and the high POS ratio makes it interesting. However, I fully agree with you: the progress of the thread and the activity of the community will draw the future of TRK.

It's really a revealing look into the stupidity of human nature that so many people bought POS coins that have now tanked, and so few are buying Truckcoin.
There is a "Truckcoin" ICO. It looks like an Asian company.

ICO's are mostly scams.. The majority of noobs in the market buy high and sell low. That's human nature. For many, Fear and greed is the main driving motivation for sheeple because they've not learned to over come it.

No, because it has inflation control. Because of this 200% maximum but effectively a lot less. about 80%.

I little high. I'm at about 3600 more or less. It has been changing around that area. I don't know the algorithm for it just that it slowly creeps up, sometimes dips.

Staking above 2000 trk for me automatically gives me 200 trk. so I usually set my blocks around 1950 or 1975, so I don't break the 200 trk barrier.
Maybe it also depends on overall balance?

as some people also told, u wont get 200% pa, because of the hardcap of 200 Trk per stake! The staking difficulty is also slowly rising!

If you hadn't break the 200 TRK hardcap barrier, u were really lucky! Small blocks may have a chance, to get the full 200%, to not break the 200 Trk barrier, but in general u will have to wait too long to create a stake! The bigger ur overall balance, the greater the chance to stake...

nice to see some activity in this thread! In my opinion its the best staking coin out there...and its really cheap also!!! Make some basic math: 155 000 000 TRK total supply at 15 Sats u will only pay 0.23 BTC for 1.55 million Trk, what is equal to 1% of all Truckcoins around. you can also do the basic math for those fudders and panic guys: just calcualte at 5 sats, u will pay 0.077 BTC for 1%, 0.77 BTC for 10% of all coins and finally 7.7 BTC for all Truckcoin at 5 sat! This wont happen!!! the actual price is so hilarious cheap.... To the real truck holders, there is some work to do, let us not only Noise23 do the work! He is preparing a new wallet...and this very well since the last years. 1) How about a giveaway campaign? 2) TRK wallet has to be compilable on raspberry, hope will work with new version 3) Tanking the cryptopia market? 4) maybe we need some better exchange with good volume 5) do we like to be on presstabs explorer? the technical stuff: x) we need some voting, how it will go on with the inflation rate... as Noise23 stated out, we just have to lower the 200 Trk hardcap to maybe 100 TRK and later on to 50 TRK! The question is when... we now had around 1 198 408 blocks with max 200 TRK per Stake! As i told, its the fairest STake coin of them all, without instamine/premine and shit like this! to give new Truckcoin holders also the chance, to stake a little more at 200 rate, i think it would the fairest way, to set a block, from which on we will only create 100 Trk! To not rush this decision, i would suggest this step at block 1 500 000 ?! What you truckheads think about all? cheerio

Yes, for all your bullet points, except the need to reduce the block reward. In other, earlier post, I have pointed out and backed up with my own study of the truck block chain that the vast majority of truckcoin are not in circulation and in fact are being held in wallets for staking gains. Essentially, "balance" in a truckcoin wallet equals a trk2btc virtual mining machine. Its beautiful and elegant the way truck has almost a zero carbon footprint combined with solid code producing significant returns while NOT INFLATING the market. Once investors/stakers get this reality ( obviously some do) then the price of truck will increase along with liquidity in proportion to reasonalble profit taking. Reasonable profit taking in my world is liquidating 10-50% of the daily stake reward while leaving the rest to continue building the power of my virtual mining machine. Do you all get this point? While some do and some don't the market cap of truckcoin never the less continues to grow in value despite low liquidity via the ever increasing value of bitcoin and moderately increasing volume that is ever sucked up by ever increasing virtual mining rig/wallet/ principals and thus taken off the market. Take a look at the charts on https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/truckcoin/#charts and notice the blue line ever increasing in value.

Meanwhile price has doubled in Crytopia. If only there were more exchanges and markets and people knew the POS ratio on their returns, I'm sure they'd all flock here in a second lol. Dev should look at a couple free exchanges to rejuvenate the atmosphere of this coin. Coinsmarkets usually accept any coin and they offer online staking, and quite a bit of volume pass through that exchange!

Truckcoin is truly decentralized and does not need constant developers support. Why has there been little to no social media movement for over a year? Well that was a lazy year I guess

Someone please do the same for windows. I've been trying to sync the wallet using the existing blockchain which is a few months old. But every 2-3000 blocks it gets stuck and no longer updates. Restarting the wallet is the only fix, but it only works for the next few thousand blocks and gets stuck after a minute or so.

They did put TRK and V wallets on maintenance a couple days ago. V wallet is back online now so probably TRK wallet will be back soon too. My support ticket still not answered but i guess they got some problem with blockchain and have to re-sync.

I wonder if that has been the problem all along. We will see. https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/News

Cryptopia is having "oh shit, we just got big" problems. Compared to scaling, a switch is a hiccup.

For those of us who are not programmers does this mean your going to post a wallet upgrade v.1.1.0.0. ? Will it be an automatic upgrade with download? What exactly will I have to do? I am running a mac pro. Oh, also, are the problems at Cryptopia the reason for the update.

Yes i'm going to post a wallet upgrade v.1.1.0.0 No new wallet for mac available yet as i can't build mac wallet by myself but it's ok to run an older mac wallet version for now. The problems at Cryptopia is not the reason for this update, i still have no idea what's going on with Cryptopia wallet, support tickets not answered yet and i don't know any other way to contact them regarding wallet issues or upgrade. This version release is to fix timedrift vulnerability and make TRK wallet ready for the new staking code. Next version with new staking engine will follow in March.

I get this error on Ubuntu 16.04 when trying to run your compiled truckcoin-qt I have libdb4.8 installed, i'm assuming i have to install libdb5.3? But will that break my other wallets? error while loading shared libraries: libdb_cxx-5.3.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory In the readme's it still talks about 4.8 .. might want to update it if using a newer version. Also might want to make note of this (already in readme): Now the nasty thing is that databases from 5.X are not compatible with 4.X.
If the globally installed development package of Berkely DB installed on your system is 5.X, any source you build yourself will be linked against that. The first time you run with a 5.X version the database will be upgraded, and 4.X cannot open the new format. This means that you cannot go back to the old statically linked version without significant hassle!

I'd suggest to build from the source to match your system config, there is no point to install libdb5.3. These linux wallets binaries are usually incompatible when run on different config, it's always better to compile.

Windows defender always treat crypto wallets as a malware, false warning.

You probably can run Truckcoin inside of TAILS, similar to this: First: sudo iptables -I OUTPUT 2 -p tcp -d 127.0.0.1 -m tcp --dport 18776 -j ACCEPT Second: DNS_PUBLIC=tcp TORSOCKS_ALLOW_INBOUND=1 torsocks ./truckcoind --p2p-bind-ip 127.0.0.1 --no-igd --rpc-bind-ip 127.0.0.1 Anonymous enough.

Would be great to have Truckcoin on another exchange. With all these new exchanges, you would think they could list Truckcoin for free for the fees they might get from traders. But then exit scams are still possible so just any exchange might not be a good idea.

Here is something from the TALK coin thread: Re: ◥TALK◥15%◣bitcointalk(💬) est✪2014★yr4✪ BTC💬 Today at 05:08:10 PM Reply with quote #1314 Quote from: groggin on Today at 10:40:08 AM Quote from: Big Naturals on Today at 10:15:20 AM Quote from: seamonkeydoare on Today at 06:14:05 AM Quote from: acdc on January 13, 2018, 09:40:02 AM Is TALK on any exchanges now? Should really try and get it on jl777's BarterDEX before that becomes difficult after the inevitable rush.
How? with $$$?
Join Komodo slack, then ask for assistance , the dev team behind BarterDEX are extremely helpful, one of the best communities in crypto, jl777 sets a great example and leads by example too, hard working, always available to discuss things, good humored, patient.
afaik listing on BarterDEX is free, but TALK community needs to do some 'work' too, not like a centralised exchange where you pay $$ and they do everything for you.
thanks! dropped them a line or 2... Grin
I agree BarterDex would be a great placement. So hit them up.
afaik They just need a sound code that will run, TALK is nearly 4 years proven sound;)
Atomic swaps just take a node that runs TALK and whatever counter trade coin you wish to trade.
For a plan to get some C++ coders attached here is my plan:
Remained focused on POS collective wisdom, TALK is a great chain, gather the other good POS projects to use TALK as a central hub to communicate. If you can stake one chain, why not stake a few more too.
Secondary plan is to create clubhouses that focus on obscure but decent POS chains, mainly to keep them alive and then thrive.
example: Bumba, Cache, CNO, FETISH, SQL, Growth, Opal, Hobo, the SciFi coins, Ultra, etc.
Then grade/gauge the POS chains with larger marketcaps.
Think rating agency.
And I have donations for new guys that join up and stake.

Atomic swaps are very promising and a way to more decentralize exchanges. BARTERDEX is an example of it, but i think there will be more.
What i do not get is why not more people like staking coins. I think it is way more decentralized than masternodes and prevents pump and dumps. In Holland we get 0% on our bankaccounts.

What block sizes you are staking? Currently block size has to be at least about 2000 coins to get a good chance to stake fast enough.

Question: POS mechanisme similar to Hyperstake?, what are the differences?
Hyperstake was forked from Truck. Presstab made a number of changes since then, but they are very similar. Most of the changes, as I understand it, had to do with the size and frequency of reward, and of course a LOT of cosmetic changes to the wallet I've been out of the loop for over a year, so it may have diverged farther since then, but contrary to popular hype, Bitcoin Cash was FAR from the first coin to carry it's balance from another chain. Hyperstake wasn't first either, but it was early. EDIT: It might be a good idea to approach Upcoin to see if Truckcoin and Version might be on their list of coins when they go fully live. Link in my sig, or if you don't like affiliate marketing, just google it From what I've seen so far, they're serious, and doing things right. Of course we've all been down that road before, but no red flags so far for me.

I would not use them. I deposited some BOAT to them and it's well documented in the blockchain that it got to them. I posted about it to them in support and in their Discord channel. They just simply closed out my support request without any response. I know it's convenient to use exchanges for small coins no matter their reputation but they're not showing good signs to me.

Yes to get a higher reward it's better to split into blocks. Thank you for your answer. And what is the optimum block size? The maximum reward is 200 TRK per block. If I split my TRK into 5 blocks, the maximum reward will be 200x5 = 1000 TRK for the whole wallet?

You can even go to 1900 sometimes and still get 200 TRK. It does get rather tedious after a while though constantly messing around with your block sizes.

TRK trading volume on Cryptopia is extremely low, everybody staking or because it is a under the radar coin?
For splitting blocks I recommend searching on youtube on how to split blocks with Hyperstake coin, it is quite similar because Hyperstake is a derivative from Truckcoin chain.

Firstly you have to enable coin control it'll say for experts only. Just search through the settings and you will find it no problem, and check the box. Then, in the same place you send coins, you'll notice a few new options. It's very easy to figure out for yourself. When you split blocks always put your receiving address and copy the after fee, then send to yourselt and viola. Your understanding is somewhat correct yes. You should break up most of your blocks into 2000-2200 and you will get 200 TRK at current difficulties. As for staking daily, that all depends on how many blocks you have, the more blocks you have the more TRK you will stake over time. Don't use big blocks. Example: trk block size 20,000 Your reward is 200trk. You will stake faster but you only get 200trk. Essentially you're losing out with such big blocks. Use 'small' blocks Example: trk block size 2100 Your reward should be 200trk Trk has a maximum block size which is 200, so it's better to put the most minimum amount per block to get the maximum reward. I'd recommend 1900 to 2300 at the moment. I like to differ between 1900-2300 because when they split sometimes I get lazy and miss looking by a day or 2 and the block is already aged, so I'll still get a decent reward for that block. It can get pretty strategic. Since you've been staking for 2 years you may already have quite a lot of split blocks, all with ages etc. You can use those once they finish staking to start getting optimum rewards.

TRK source code updated to v1.1.0.0 - mandatory! This is a mandatory update, please build with the new v1.1 source at https://github.com/noise23/truckcoinWill post Windows and Linux binaries tomorrow. Noise23 you said it is ok to run the old mac wallet for now as you have not had resource or time to make a new mac update. I am presuming there is still no problems that I will experience; loss of coin, interest, ect. by continuing staking with mac v.1.0.0.0?

Yes it's safe to continue staking with mac v.1.0.0.0 for now. In worst-case scenario there is a slim chance that it can fork and you will need to re-sync but it's very unlikely, should work fine. Next wallet release will include a new mac version with all updates.

I am a trk coin owner since dec 2017, it is a very good staking coin, after a lead time of 9 days it pays outs coins consistently throughout the day. Wallet works very stable, never had a crash. I measured it to put out 100% a year interest, it is a better alternative than mining (less electricity costs). O for newcomers, just ignore the Windows security warning, it is a false positive.
I noticed that on coinmarketcap the picture (logo) of the TRK coin looks low-res, can we make that better?
greeting, Erwin (from the Netherlands)

To get POS profit you have to hold the coins in your own wallet, they will not stake in an exchange wallet.

Truckcoin is a fork of x11coin, a formerly pos coin with a small POS return of 3,33%
The DEV who started it wanted a coin for a couple of reasons: Here is a quote of him form the original thread of Bitcointalk:'
Bitcointalk member: "200% is crazy! I wonder what effect it will have on the long term status of this coin, like turning away late adopters..."
Truckcoin DEV: "I was wondering the same thing. However, I can tell you this: I got really sick of these PoS coins that gave you 1-3% interest in a year. If you want those kinds of measly returns, go put your money in a freaking fiat bank.
It's not fair that the only people who can make money mining these coins are the ones that have huge gpu/asic/fpga farms. I wanted to give the average joe trucker something he could buy and make a *reasonable* amount of money on. This coin will give you what, 0.75% a day? That seems pretty good. if you have 1000 coins, you'll get a respectable 7.5 coins per day just for holding onto them. I think this will encourage people to mine and store/buy and pull them off the exchanges, thus driving the price up further.
Honestly, can any of you say you actually held one of the low % PoS coins for any length of time just to get the interest reward? Likely not, as it is much more profitable to dump that coin and move on to the much more profitable coin flavor of the day for a quick pump/dump. I'm really hoping that people will hold onto this coin because the reward is significant.

So to me this is a coin for the average people "joe trucker" so not so bad name afterall....
You can also say that the coin is ahead of its time, with ethereum still figuring out how to switch from POW to POS.
Think about it, mining these days is highly centralized and only for big corporate with very low electricity cost, not for average trucker joe.
With truckcoin and your wallet open, YOU are mining your own coin and contribute to the payment network of the coin!

Another advantage to this coin, is there isn't really any need to ask for funding to further the coin/project.
The interest I'm accumulating is going to help pay for what I wish I could do to help this project.
It might take awhile, but this is a nice feature.

You have to wait until they mature until they start staking and producing more coins. It should only take a couple of days.

one possible reason is you are trying to send a large amount from a wallet with lots of small entries. it gets too big/complex for the maximum blocksize. try sending a half-sized amount (to yourself if you dont want to involve other people's wallets for this test, this will 'consolidate' a lot of those tiny amounts.)

The repairwallet functions does not work well and will cause the wallet to become non-responsive with wallets that have 7k transactions or more. The user is forced to to kill the process in task manager and restart the wallet.

TRK wallet is very stable and staking is working very fine. Every I get multiple stakes. Only downside is that if windows is updating again you have to start wallet again and it takes some time to load up the 1.6Gb blockchain. (but its nothing compare to the 51Gb blockchain of Bitcoin).
Tech is working fine, it is a proven long established coin with a nice staking payout.
I think its time to promote this coin, anyone experience in how to spread the word about this coin?

I think it's really good work. Just feedback since you asked for it. I like the main center one with the big truck but I don't too much like the "eyes" aspect of it. It looks too much like a crayfish. It kind of takes the focus off the truck. There is just a little too much feathering and it obscures the main focus of the truck. I like when the trails kind of form horns like a bull near the bottom (bull market). Otherwise, I love the power of it.

Truckcoin is an hidden gem, it is somehow under the radar and it lacks some marketing, but it has a proven trackrecord, is on a trusted exchange and works flawlessly and gives you a consistent payout every day. It has a very low market cap so there is a lot room on the upside! And don't forget the DEV, he is consistent and communicates when necessary. Thumbs up!

Nice volume the past 2 days. Not many people know about this little hidden gem, as other people have said. I've been staking this coin forever, and haven't sold at it's ATH or it's recent value increase. I can for-see another increase in the future so it's worth holding onto for now. This coin has kept most of it's value for quite some time now, even with puny daily volumes such as 54$ haha. Marketcap is less than 1mill and there is not a huge circulating supply. This can increase tenfold if enough people start coming into it for it's POS percentage. Sadly, it's not well known among the POS community. https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/truckcoin/Todays daily volume: $11,576 USD 1.44 BTC

Looks like there is a bug. If you try to split the wallet but leave the split block value empty, it will crash the wallet.
I will look into it but why leave it empty? To split the block you have to put some value there anyway There is also another bug that crashes the wallet. To reproduce. Send > coin control > click on confirmation filter and hit the space key

Especially over something so easily validated. It's the kind of positive user experience you'll never get praised for but a total complaint magnet when it's not perfect. Not that I'm hearing much complaint ... very civilised bunch of truckers round here

Glad to see Truck still going From a point of interest, I've calculated my current annual staking return rate is at around 50% I'm going by how much on average I'm getting per week * 52 weeks, then seeing the percentage from the total balance. Is anyone getting around the same? Just curious if having a larger balance (more staking) would make a difference - considering the current difficulty level.

I don't know if its just me, but now it seems like as people have bought more, my staking is going down.
Seems around 20%
What split threshold sizes are people using lately?

@rocoro I think everybody has that problem since increased difficulty is affecting all of us. We also should not forget that TRK POS was designed to do this in order to control inflation. Having said this the amount of daily rewards I get seems to come and go like waves. Some days are good followed with some poor days.
My advise would be to change splittresshold until it has the effect you are hoping for. That's what I do and have been doing since day 1. The stake report tool is great for doing that.

Yes, more people that buy, the more you have to buy or keep your stakes. That's why I also trade the coins I stake.

That's is a good strategy which most people do. When price is low I keep all my coins and stake my ass off when price is high I sell a small portion.

About how many are you staking (don't need to know your exact amount) .. if not much, it could be that its just been that unlucky. I've gone through periods with nothing, thinking its not working and then I get some just like normal again.

@Noise Successfully compiled and running latest source v.1.2.1.0.
1 "major" issue left, repairing wallet take too long, could you fix that ? I have seen other POS wallets that could fix a wallet in seconds.
When do you plan to release Windows binaries ?

He could probably use the repairwallet routine from the Hyperstake (HYP)wallet (since it was originally forked from TRK).

I will post v1.2.x windows binaries soon, probably next week. Just want to make a few more updates to the code first. Regarding repairwallet, it depends on wallet size - takes a long time for huge old wallets with thousands of transactions. If you know any POS coin repairing huge wallets fast, let me know the coin name and I'll take a look at the code.

A lot has changed since then and the repairwallet on HYP is quite fast even when the HYP wallet is 2 times the size.

Looks like I missed this post. I've already have my hands full between HYP, GDC and a few others that are on the back burners as well as being a full time market maker (providing liquidity) for those on all listed exchanges for the projects. TRK is already included in the market making activities on Cryptopia, what we really need is some real directions in terms of where we are going and what we want to accomplish. A solid road map with some real practical goals and actual effort to meet those milestones would be a good start and then consistent and timely development thereafter.

It's awesome when staking is high enough to make you feel like you're mining with your wallet, like the original spirit of mining crypto when you were making a good profit.

Truckcoin.net advertises 200% PoS
In reality, it can go up to 200% but not necessarily will you get that, as the thread title here states.
Not sure if its important, but maybe that is a form of misleading people to believe a "guaranteed 200%" on the website?
Just brought this up to hear other people's thoughts.
What would be nice, is if it could dynamically update to what the current annualized stake/return rate is.

I've just changed it to "POS interest: up to 200% per year, 200TRK max stake per block limit" in Technical Specifications section and "up to 200%" everywhere else to make it more clear. We need a better website anyway...

The status check site still says (at time of this post): Cryptopia.co.nz is DOWN for everyone. http://www.isitdownrightnow.com/cryptopia.co.nz.html says "Down For: more than a week" which is definitely not true. Looks like something wrong with that site. Cryptopia is up for me.

Great Coin No support channels, wouldn't call Reddit, Twitter or Facebook support and the crypto-city is just bullshit, this makes me believe the Developers are young and plain amateurs,
not even a discord, WTF
Get real devs and do your job, it's obvious that you are no good at marketing. maybe this shows on the coin in its self to which is why it's so low, but you guys need to do something for a community and for your investors, or has this turned out to be just another shit coin.
And maybe the Developers have jumped ship??? it certainly seems that way due to inactivity of the developers

The economics of this coin seem as if it could provide UBI (Universal Basic Income) to many people easily.
Most people should be able to stake it and it is a good ROI.
I originally thought 200% would be too much, but the inflation control of staking difficulty, and the 200 cap limit seem to be working good.
The actual annualized return rate is a safe amount.

BNB is just another coin, how Truckcoin could use it? My main observation was possibly using another exchange, rather than being "centralized" to one. BnB was simply an example of additional incentive. As someone else brought up, maybe coinex could also be considered. But, as far as integrating another coin for purpose of a large platform of advertisement/adoption (whether bnb or not) my idea would be: Set up "trucking toll station" somehow have a toll fee per stake - that buys the other coin and burns it. What amounts, how often etc.. would be up to vote, whatever. Somewhat like a "stake to charity" feature that other coins use -- but instead, having a portion of the stake auto-purchase the other coin. Just thoughts.. trying to use as a vehicle toward adoption, and other exchanges.

320 confirmations on Cryptopia? Wonder if it's a mistake... -- update --- Nope apparently not.... confirmations are still ticking away.

Coinex.com is another decent exchange that has free listing votes. They are doing a lot of innovative things with their own currency that you can mine at their site. I've recently checked it out. Nothing is trading there.

With 7910 transactions the wallet is struggling and takes forever to do a repairwallet.

Noise said he is working on it but could take some time, see previous postings about that. In the meantime, create a new fresh wallet and move your coins out of the old. Many TX slows down "repair wallet".

Many TX slows down "repair wallet". That seems to be the issues with most wallets. Talking about wallets in general, 8k-10k of transactions are really not that many in the whole scheme of things but wallet performances really degrade noticeably. In real world usage scenario, this would certainly be a major problem for crypto wallets. Seems like a DB issue. Wondering if an alternative DB system can be used that can handle a large number of inputs without performance degradation for wallets in general.

I'll try to fix repairwallet with the next release.

Could you clarify what exactly is supposed to happen when the split threshold option is set to say 500?

If block amount after the stake is 500 coins or more this block will be split into two blocks of 250 (or more) coins each. If block amount after the stake is below 500 coins then no split.

I used the settiings > option > split threshold. Also there are no splitthreshold option in the console when the help command is issued in v1.2.2.0
