Hi. I am new to bitcoin (but have some theoryknowledge) and have some questions. I made couple of transaction from my android bitcoin wallet. After last transaction (it was still greyed out - unconfimed), I backed up keys, uninstall wallet, install new wallet from google play store, restored keys. My balance is correct, last 3-4 transactions are represented with dark red circle at the begining. Older transactions are not a problem, just the last one. It didnt get through yet. When I click Explore, I see that the block has 200 and something confirmations until now. What is happening with that transaction?

Bitcoin wallet is kinda easy to use, but lack maybe some more info about the status of the transaction, error description etc.

P.S. I have send the report from my email adress yesterday.

P.S.S. Should I resend the transaction?

Don't resend your transaction yet. The first thing you have to do is to get that transaction's TXID and paste it here or just do it yourself, paste it in any block explorers to see its true status e.g confirmed/unconfirmed or if it didn't got through and lets see what options you have although if it has already received confirmations then its has been already sent and the odds are your wallet is so buggy that it doesn't update.

Yes it lacks important features as well as its buggy so I personally advise you to change your wallet not just for convenience but also for security as well. If you want an android wallet you can try mycelium or electrum on desktop.

Ok. Here is what I have done. I have found bictoin wallet .apk and some keys that was backed up in 2013 (lets call that BACKUP1). I installed that apk (not from google play, probably it was old version of andoid bitcoin wallet). I restored the key, and after synchronisation I had 3 transactions in it. First one that purchased bitcoins in that wallet and other 2 that spend half of that bitcoins. All 3 transactions were in 2013. So then I tried sending bitcoins (recently) and i succed it.  Then I also backed up keys (BACKUP2).

Then I made some bitcoin purchase that hasnt been through yet (not sure if it was confirmed already, I think I didnt see Sent! message at the bottom right).

Now here is the tricky part. I unistalled bitcoin wallet because I assumed there is a new, better version of it on Google Play. I installed that version from Google Play (same application but different version - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.schildbach.wallet&hl=en). Then I restored keys WITH BACKUP2. After that I noticed:

1. My balance was OK.

2. All transactions were already through, EXCEPT last one (small purchase but shop were I made the purchase told me they never received this transaction). I send report from my wallet to bitcoin developers, they told me "Yes. Your payment has been confirmed by the blockchain, so it arrived at its destination.". I also send them dump files with it. So, is it possible that transaction is confirmed but hasn't been through yet? Who can I contact regarding that payment? The shop owner told me that they had regulary purcheses and they were almost immediately complited.

3. Than I made keys backup BACKUP3.

I need information regarding following:

1. I noticed that backup file lenght has changed, it some 100 bytes bigger that previous keys. Is that Ok?

2. Do I need to also restore BACKUP1 (probably dont)?

3. I noticed, under my addresses, there are 4-5 adresses (and more under Old). What that means? Are all addresses mine?

4. Another person also have my initial backup, BACKUP1. What happens if he/she restore it to their wallet? What can I do to prevent that? Can I generate new address (using same wallet app already installed) and transfer all bitcoin holding to that address, will it prevent this case? I am not so familiar how wallets work.

5. Can I now backup my keys in new file and then delete all previous backups and my balance will be ok? I will not do that, but just interested do I need all previous backups or the last one is enough.

Thanks for answers.

Regards,

1. I noticed that backup file lenght has changed, it some 100 bytes bigger that previous keys. Is that Ok?

Thats absolutely fine. This may due to any additional parameters (new addresses, ..) recorded in the backup file.
Or due to a new format.

2. Do I need to also restore BACKUP1 (probably dont)?

I guess you are using a HD wallet (12/18/24 word seed phrase).
In this case no. Since your backup contains "all" addresses of this wallet. It automatically creates new addresses, based on your seed, on demand.

3. I noticed, under my addresses, there are 4-5 adresses (and more under Old). What that means? Are all addresses mine?

Yes, your (probably) HD wallet creates a new address for each transaction. Your seed and a "counter" is used to create a new address.
This is done for privacy reasons.

4. Another person also have my initial backup, BACKUP1. What happens if he/she restore it to their wallet? What can I do to prevent that? Can I generate new address (using same wallet app already installed) and transfer all bitcoin holding to that address, will it prevent this case? I am not so familiar how wallets work.

If someone has access to your old backup (BAKCUP1), he also has access to the seed used to generate this wallet.
Therefore ANY further generated address using this seed is not recommended. This wallet should be treaten as compromised.
You should create a new wallet (new HD Wallet, not just a new address inside your wallet) and transfere your funds to this wallet. At this point you will have
to write down your seed phrase as this is your new backup.
Some wallet apps provide the option to create new HD wallets within the app.

5. Can I now backup my keys in new file and then delete all previous backups and my balance will be ok? I will not do that, but just interested do I need all previous backups or the last one is enough.

"Only last one." - But you should never delete old wallet/backup files.
You should backup your seed as a word phrase. I would not recommend to store backups digital only.

I hoped, since all previous backup files (its just some file with dates in filename with some random characters - I guess that is what you call seed) had same lenght and same content (not sure about content but will check out) and after I uninstalled wallet and installed newer version from google play, that I already created new wallet. Especially since its backup file was different in lenght and content. But will try to make new wallet then.

I posted a link to the wallet I downloaded from google play. Is that hardware wallet? I guess it is, since is not linked to any website/account on the internet.

Its 12 word passphrase BIP39 count the word if its 12 words and you check the spelling correctly you can check the BIP39 words here https://github.com/bitcoin/bips/blob/master/bip-0039/english.txt

If its correct then you can recover your wallet into new fresh install wallet you should always save seeds because you can recover it also in other bitcoin wallet that support BIP39 passphrase..

Its not a hardware wallet that you download from playstore its software a third party wallet for mobile..
Ledger nano s and trezor are hardware wallet its a simple device that you can bring anywere and use it to transfer bitcoin offline..
