/account/api
"To revoke your API key, click here"

This might be a bug. I don't think I created an API key.  And if I didn't create one, there shouldn't be one by default.

I don't have any API keys there. Never created one, never deleted one.
You better find out what's going on there? Delete the key, change your PW?

On several occasions recently it seems my orders to the Bitstamp exchange didn't get place ... once for about 20 minutes as I watched the market frequently trade through my price. I love BFX, but the site is flawed and traders need to stay on their toes.

Bitfinex is HK based, and not directly affected by mainland regulatory position re: deposits and withdrawals. Yet.

Any comments from BFX on this?

Did you see your order in the list/orderbook? Don't forget the fees of 0.12% and 0.35% respectively on BitFinex and BitStamp. Sounds little. But at 700$, 0.35% is 2.45$. This makes the 680$ order into a 677.55$ order in the orderbook..
Well, at least my orders were always executed when the price was met.

Hello everyone,

Since we have a lot of questions after the news from China, here is our answer:

We are Hong-Kong based. Furthermore, the bank account we used for deposit is in Pudong, which is a special economic zone of China ("charter zone"). You can read more about it here: http://www.chinatravel.com/shanghai-attraction/pudong-special-economic-zone/ This zone does not follow the same rules than mailand China especially for financial matters.

As such, we are not operating inside China, the accounts in the Shanghai special economic zone are off-shore, therefore technically outside China.  Aside from that we also have accounts in Hong Kong, with most of the funds, so operations will not be affected by changes in China.

I hope this clears out questions you may have,

Let me know if you have any more questions
Best regards
Raphael

Hello,

If you can send by PM some order references I'd be interested in this. We are not aware of such problems. Please note that limit orders are not place on Bitstamp orderbook, so for example limit bid will only be matched by limit ask on Bitstamp, not by market orders from Bitstamp.

Thanks

Can we get more details around some of these assurances?  What banks are do you have accounts with?  Where exactly are you located, and where exactly are you registered as a corporation?  Right now, all we have is a name and an email address on the website.  It does not engender much confidence and that is why I only keep play money with your website.

Yeah, a csv of history data would be really great, it has been requested already for ages by now.

I'm not too sure if a JS generated one would help, as the main use for me would be to process it further and I would prefer something more "official" for that.

https://www.coinlend.org <-- automated lending at various exchanges.
https://www.bitfinex.com <-- Trade BTC for other currencies and vice versa.

This might be a bug. I don't think I created an API key.  And if I didn't create one, there shouldn't be one by default.

I went ahead and deleted it.  Still fairly troubling as I had no reason to ever create one.  Possibly I clicked on the wrong thing.   On the other hand, nobody has been accessing my account that I can tell.  So that is good.

Well Shanghai does have a special economic zone called Pudong:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special_Economic_Zones_of_the_People's_Republic_of_China

And btc-china is based in Shanghai in Pudong:

Thank you that is clear enough. I'm only using limit orders ... apparently why I'm not seeing them.

Can we get a definitive answer bitfinex weren't affected?
