It was above 6000 only for a few moments on a handful of exchanges. I'd hardly call that "tearing past".

Keeps going up... The media attention is also huge. Almost daily a major news channel reports on Bitcoin. It would do the Bitcoin community well if they would also not only focus on the price, but all the benefits (and risk) bitcoin offers! |

It went up in a straight line in an hour. It must be from one or a few significant buyers.
someone was saying on reddit (couldn't find the link!) that there has been a large surge of new users on exchanges and they were waiting for their documents to be verified. maybe they just enabled a lot of them at once and they ran to buy bitcoin! It was above 6000 only for a few moments on a handful of exchanges. I'd hardly call that "tearing past".
it is currently sitting at $5974 which is 0.4% lower than $6000 don't be too hard on bitcoin. |

I was surprised that bitcoin heads up to $6000 and still continue to go up. I dont know whats the reason behind this rampage. All i can say is let the party begin!!! Come on bitcoin give me an early christmas gift.

I was shock seeing the price right now there are lots of people are dreaming with $6,000 value and now it breaks and hit the price at $6,000 but the price was drop back a bit and looks like there are some other traders are using bots to sell their bitcoin once $6,000 value hit but i think we will see more good news tomorrow and we will see more price increase sooner..
I believe someone there had some weak hands that i think they will sell their bitcoins that can hardly increase back to $6k value of bitcoin ..

I was up for a calm friday evening and enjoy a bit of offline (i.e. non crypto) movie action, and yet my focus is no longer on the movie I planned to watch. It's far more interesting looking at how the market breaks through another all time high. I am fairly sure that a few large players have increased their positions, and now comfortably wait and look at how the market is going to gain in value almost effortlessly in the coming weeks/months. I just wonder how long the $6000 level will hold, because there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of support right now.

Yeah, it was really expect the unexpected. A new all time high $6074. I didn't expect it to happen this fast we've past $5k and now we're at $6k and all happen this month. Bitcoin is really amazing, we are lucky to have this. Due to current movement I can say now that $10k is still possible this year. |

I agree, even myself. I am expecting Bitcoin will go down any minute since Bitcoin will be subjected in a fork a few days from now. We've seen what happened to the recent hardfork that gave birth to BitcoinCash, a week before the scheduled fork made the price go down dramatically. But this scenario changes everything. I guess underestimating Bitcoin is not a good thing  |
