Author Topic: Help on restore 2nd Wallet, Where is the restore button?  (Read 287 times)

I am not able to restore a 2nd wallet in Android.

The 1st Restore was made when I 1st start the app.

I looked at the FAQ in mycelium, it says to tap the + button under Account tab
I press and only see Add HD Account, Add Coinapult.., Add Colored Coins..., Advanced.

There is no restore/recover button.

Can anyone help me on this issue? Many thanks!

If you are talking about the ACCOUNT 1 and ACCOUNT 2 recovery after initially you have restored using the master seed. Then the Account 1 will be visible right after, but for the account 2 to be visible you need to go to add account and add an HD account.

I pressed the Add HD Account, it immediately generated a new account on my phone.

There is no way to enter the recovery seed.

Am I missing something?

You had entered the recovery seed after the initial install of wallet, right?
If previously, on other device, if you had BTC in the 'account 2' they should now be visible after you have added the 2nd Account again.

Yes for the 1st one.

My problem is I am not able to add the 2nd old account

It does not ask me for Recovery Seed after the 1st start up.

I am using ver 2.9.5 (290502) from PlayStore

And, if the 1st account is newly created, I will not have any method to restore from seed.

I think it could be a bug, but I am not sure.

I think it could be a bug, but I am not sure.
As I said, the 2nd account should be visible with all your BTC in it after you click on add an HD Account. There isn't different seed for account 1 and account 2, both of them should had been recovered with the 1st seed.
If you are saying that it didn't ask for the seed even during the first start then it can be a bug. There is no option to enter seed after you have created a new account, you need to again reinstall the app to get the first screen where it asks for the seed.

I see your point now. You mean the different Account is from the same Seed.

I am a user from CoPay - in CoPay, I can create account each with different Recovery Seed.
Because I believe CoPay will go to B2X, I want to switch to Mycelium and wanted to enter several Recovery Seed.

What you are trying to do is not possible as you cannot have multiple recovery seeds in Mycelium. All the HD accounts in Mycelium are generated from one seed... and just use different "account" values in the derivation path:

m/44'/0'/0' - 1st Account
m/44'/0'/1' - 2nd Account
...
m/44'/0'/n' - Nth Account etc

If you wanted to use the "accounts" in Mycelium, you'd need to setup the accounts in Mycelium, and then send your coins from each Copay account to an address in the appropriate Mycelium account.
