Hi Guys.
In the last few days I'm studying 10 hour a day this new world of cryptocurrency.
I came into the ICO thing.
Now i'm just wonderting one thing...
I've seen that since the ICO, some crypto have gaines ridicolous % like 40.000% (Stratis), 20.000% (Ark), 7.000% (QTUM), 6.000% (Lisk) and so on.

I think I can't understand how this work probably.

Does it mean that if I invested 10.000 euros in Stratis ICO, now I will have 4 Millions Euros ?
I don't think it's possible, I can't believe something so easy to get rich exist in this world.

I've been though that you have to work hard, create companies, give value to people and so on in order to get rich. Are all those bullshit ?
I'm kind of shocked. Do you know anybody who become really rich with this cryptocurrency things or those are just legends ?

I've also read somewhere that most of Crypto who get those bumps, is just because you can't convert them in real money and just use them in some close marketplace and so on.

Somebody is so kind to explain to a newbie how does this work ?
I've also seen the bitconnect scam thing... seen videos on youtube about guys making tons of money with that, how this is possible ?

Many people have become wealthy with Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. Charts show it and everything is clear. But now it's no longer that easy. for now investing in ICOs is more risky. You might lose your money. Those who are rich now with cryptocurrencies are people that believed it when no one knew it or paid attention to it.
If you are new to cryptocurrencies, know that you can make huge money with it, But it is not easy, It needs much efforts and patience.

It's simple think of ICO like a easy version of IPO , people offer shares for their project , u buy the share for a price , but the price is fixed by the dev , the price may not be what market values , so it may be having a lower price after it hit exchanges

You have to be careful. Do your own diligent research and dive deep into your research before you invest. There are some very good investment opportunities but their are many more opportunities to lose your funds. Find the project that you understand and can be confident that your research is sound and accurate. Even the most promising projects are prone to failure, but if you pick the right project it has the potential to make you very wealthy. Research, understanding, and sound investment are your best tools so use them diligently.

Having to focus on ICOs of altcoins is actually another area very good you can earn good cash. But just like stated, one needs quite some time to really read through their whitepaper. There you get to fully understand what the projects are all about and the people behind the project. You can also visit threads and social media platforms to check and see the Attitude of buyers of the ICO. This can help tell if the ICO will be a success or not.

They never gained so much. Lisk never made 6000%.

Yeah it really works, myself holded couple of times coins which would be now worth hundred of thousand of dollars.
Well the problem is you always sell to low you have to HODL but when you HODL to long you are out...

Basically yeah thats it, btw for making companies and getting rich is also a possibility. It's not like if you have a company you do waaaay more just be smart.
Hard work never pays only smart work does.

So many ICO threads, I think I understand why people are drawn to them.
They see the how crazy bitcoin haw increased in value and wish they could have gotten in a couple years ago or even just last year.
People think that if they put money into a new project, get in when its cheap, they can hit it big like if they would have invested in BTC earlier.
Here are some things to consider:

-The current ICO market is oversaturated, too many and also too many for profit investors looking for a quick buck.  It's at the point where you can get a coin or token for below ICO price after it hits exchanges and everyone dumps their coin.

-Any reputable ICO will most likely exclude U.S. and Singaporean citizens and residents.

-bitcointalk is full of people claiming that "so and so coin" or "so and so ICO" is going to be the next big thing.  I would take any subjective opinions here with a very, very, very tiny grain of salt.

because of the high demand, a coin today is only $ 0.5, but in 1 day could be $ 4 or more
if the trend of demand continues increasing day by day, it could be within 30 days to be worth $ 200
but there are also vice versa, some coin fail after ico and become "deadcoin", coin isn't worth at all

How did you do the computation? If you invested 10,000 Euros in Stratis ICO and it now gained 40% value increase from ICO price, then that would only be 14,000 Euros and not 4 million Euros. Anyway, what you think is impossible is possible here in the crypto world. Growth is not just on the 40% level, there are many others that went as high as 100% or 200% in price growth in a very small fraction of time.

It means that if you managed to pick the right ICO, and you allowed your funds to grow that yes your coins would be valued that highly. That being said probably less than 10% of ICOs are from legitimate companies, and maybe 1% have a hope in hell as they have a good team behind it, and a real-world business plan versus a whitepaper that they paid someone on fiverr to write.

What we should realize is the real ICO too needs a long period of time to deliver on our investment. It's the scam ICOs that pump like crazy within few times after getting into the exchange.

before going into the topic I want to say something that "not all business will succeed and not all will fail", if you invest in a ico thing to do is learn the purpose of ico (new company), for what in making the company. how its potential, if you look at a company making a platform that its consumers the whole world community is certainly very profitable, but if it is not in the allocation to the community a little profit opportunity then that will cause ICO to fail. you can get an investment advantage like you said, but you should see the potential of the project (ICO) first
