What is BATA (BTA)?


Barter And Trade Alternative.

Bata (BTA) is a cryptocurrency that has been developed to replace trade dollars in traditional Barter Systems. As the "Sharing Economy" grows, so does the decentralized market.

Bata aims to change way the way we trade, by introducing Barter on the Blockchain.

A Barter cryptocurrency has been re-invented on a blockchain, decentralized, secure and widely available in the form of BTA, replacing a Trade Dollar. Bartering helps you exchange goods or services at once, without money. It has no limits and can be done both on a very small-scale and on an exceedingly larger-scale. The arrangements are under the control of member-only associations, with credit units the channel of exchange, (other terms like trade exchange, barter exchange and countertrade exchange). To explain the channel of exchange, different terms like credits, units, barter dollars or trade dollars are being used. As the medium of exchange, the term which is mostly used is trade dollar.

Looking deeper into barter deals there is huge difference between direct barter and exchange barter. In return barter, you may use your capacity, inventory or excess time to trade for goods and services you need. For such deals, you don’t need money as long as you are part of a barter group with other businesses. Each business earns trade dollars which can be employed for the exchange of the things you want. Direct barter means to swap the service or product for the service of your seller.

Bata has been traded on Bittrex since 11/20/2015.

October 3rd 2017 - a market deletion notice appeared on the Bittrex exchange for the Bata
market.

Bittrex asked Bata development to explain the shares concept - referring to a testing
announcement Profit Shares. Explanation was provided directly to Bittrex contacts.
Bittrex asked why Profit Shares was not considered as a security. Then proceeded to ask for
a lawyer's memo. Bittrex requested that a US Attorney was required to issue the
Memorandum.

It was made clear to Bittrex that Profit Shares is an independent project from BATA. Profit
Shares is not a token. It's a private crowd-funding platform.
We advised Bittrex that V1 Profit Share is not part of Bata cryptocurrency development
project. This made no difference as then they proceeded to ask for a​ ​legal​ ​analysis​ ​on
Bata​, including clear details on how it will remain separate and independent from the Profit
Shares Platform.

We advised Bittrex that if the Bata developers paid for a security analysis on Profit Shares
then the Bata project would no longer be separate, but a vested or interested party. Bata is
separate from Profit Shares Platform and shall remain a separate project.
After discussing with the Bata Dev team, various lawyers in Australia who also had offices in
the USA, were contacted. The estimated legal expenses to initiate the process to satisfy
Bittrex demands were not feasible, and there was no certainty that a positive and timely
resolution would be possible. The Bata development team along with the Bata community's
support have decided that development funds would be invested in strengthening the Bata
development project.

Bata is a decentralised open source cryptocurrency project. Bata development is made up
of a small team. No development funds were ever acquired, or requested. The members of
the development team provide their own time and own funds for development.
Profit Shares Platform is a closed source project under development by Biznatch
Enterprises.

So the price of a masternode is looking better and better everyday but a question about that. I know its 10,000 BTA required for a masternode but what is the payout rate suppose to be compared the PoW and tiered staking? Bittrex delisting BTA turned out to be a blessing in disguise for me gave me a chance to invest into it more its one of the safer ones I see Cryptopia rising to the levels of Bittrex I already use it more then Bittrex tbh but I would definitely try to get listed somewhere else just to keep the coin from fading; Bittrex was a big loss that fact cant be denied.

Just checked myself. Download Zip. Disconnect from internet. Then open html file. Move mouse around to generate.


Step 1. Follow the security checklist recommendation

First step is to download this website from Github and open the index.html file directly from your computer. It's just too easy to sneak some evil code in the 6000+ lines of javascript to leak your private key, and you don't want to see your fund stolen. Code version control make it much easier to cross-check what actually run. For extra security, unplug your Internet access while generating your wallet.

Step 2. Generate new address

Choose your currency and click on the "Generate new address" button.

Step 3. Print the Paper Wallet

Click the Paper Wallet tab and print the page on high quality setting. Never save the page as a PDF file to print it later since a file is more likely to be hacked than a piece of paper.

Step 4. Fold the Paper Wallet

Fold your new Paper wallet following the lines. Fold in half lengthwise, and then in three widthwise.
 You can insert one side inside the other to lock the wallet.

Step 4. Share your public address

Use your public address to receive money from other crypto-currency users. You can share your public address as much as you want.

Step 5. Keep your private key secret

The private key is literally the keys to your coins, if someone was to obtain it, they could withdraw the funds currently in the wallet, and any funds that might be deposited in that wallet.

For an update on those trying to follow along on Bata.  It boils down to 2 basic issues.   1) We are organizing a Non Profit Foundation to represent the community that is supporting Bata and Barter Platform.  This is the first priority for us, and we need to complete this step to continue developing both the business plan for Bata and technological development.  The political environment surrounding crypto-currencies is becoming volatile in how governments and investment securities agencies are monitoring and handling crypto-currencies in different countries and jurisdictions.   2) We are actively looking for developers to assist with the masternode migration.  Migrating this coin is taking more time and resources than I had anticipated and estimated to @pc888.  So, I am falling behind in what I promised to deliver, but we are looking for support from reputable developers that can assist and are available.  Both tasks, finding available developers and reputable ones, are proving to be a difficult task.  This does not mean development has stopped, it means that this transition is taking a lot longer than we had projected.
Probably because of so many of the scams that are happening now under the guise of cryptocurrency coins and tokens, there are many government agencies scrutinizing most projects of a certain value or popularity.  We are putting a business plan in place to ensure we are compliant and preparing a professional profile for the Bata project.  These services are all at a cost, so we are also looking for ways to cover the costs for the short-term road map.  The foundation will need funding not only for its in legal costs for its creation, but there is also the upcoming costs and budgets for development of the code base, marketing, documentation, and community support.

The price has not dropped as a result of the coin supply change. If the coin total supply effected the price then Bata should be double the price of Bitcoin on 10 million.

Sorry these will be available soon, I am waiting on compiles. Midnight is away from his PC's till the evening he advised.

Anyone who is running a pool for Bata to make sure you compile from source code. Same goes for exchanges - you need to compile from source.

Reward is a static .25 now, changing from halved amount 0.09xxx, but this will not appear unless pools update.

As Komodo Platform has been working around the clock to fine-tune the multiple GUI's that are the face of our Agama multiwallet and BarterDEX atomic swap protocols, there have obviously been many bugs found and many debugged. However, one bug in particular was found not only in our Agama GUI wallet, but also in the zcash4mac GUI swing wallet. It is a simple bug, but it warrants your attention. This is a potential money cost bug, and as a Bitcoin-protocol cryptocurrency, your GUI wallet(s) may be susceptible.

watchonly-GUI bug: 'watchonly' addresses appearing as your own in GUI wallet; users could potentially send funds to the address, unaware it is not theirs or available for withdrawal.  You can import <any address> and it becomes a 'watchonly' address. The GUI will display the address as yours, add its funds to your balance, and accept deposits, but cannot be withdrawn. This could be a normal address, my address, a p2sh address, satoshi's address, etc. This can be confusing to an end-user and will lead to many headaches for the developer, as is always the case with misplaced funds.

FOUND: in Komodo Platform's Agama multiwallet (fixed) and zcash4mac GUI swing wallet (@jl777b: "newest QT wallet seems ok about watch only, but not sure of older and when it was fixed")

Greetings, pc888! The Bata project is really interesting to me. I have inspected the 8 pages of this newly created thread, but haven't found any hint of the 2018 roadmap. The V3 contains data up to 2017 only. Are there any plans at all? Any milestones your team had set to reach? I want to be sure that i'm investing into a coin with promising future. Perhaps you could briefly explain your goals for 2018 here or link me to some kind of roadmap for the next year?

An error in code caused the current compiled wallets not to sync correctly. Midnight wanted to take another look into code before compiling QTs, but unfortunately got sick.

So to wrap it up 3 mining pools have updated from newer source code and running smoothly. Some exchanges are yet to up date to latest source code.

If you are using official wallet, make sure it is the latest version. Previous posts on forum have full instructions.

BATA Cryptopia wallets have been down for days showing "No Connections." I sent my BTA to BleuTrader two days ago and it never showed up in my account. I have a transaction ID of: 7fcd6d364a9cad813655e1f6d680687fb580105f9c458853dd69ea7ceb4becb0 but "No results" on either BTA Blockchain Explorer. This issue of dead wallets and missing transfers is popping up in a lot of forums, and BATA is not responding to the issue. A lot of people have lost a lot of money holding/transferring BATA.

Unless Admin gets on this ASAP, they are in for a world of hurt in the CryptoSphere.

I have used both the receive address at Bleutrade (BDiC6ihA5xBf8R7N77wgyZ4kz94tjPq392) and the Tx id from Mining-Dutch.nl (MD), 7fcd6d364a9cad813655e1f6d680687fb580105f9c458853dd69ea7ceb4becb0 on both block Explorers listed on the Bata.io website, neither returns a result. I have contacted admin at MD, they report no problems on their end or with the transaction/send. I do not know what "Topia and Target" in Explore are, or where they are to be found in the Explorer. You are welcome to input the above information into Explorer and see if you get a different result. It is worth noting that this problem is happening to many people over the last few days, according to various BATA forums.

Thank you for looking into this situation. There are many like me who have had their transfers from Mining-Dutch.nl, and other mining sites, lost with "No Results" in the Explorer. It is worth noting that this transfer from MD to Bleutrade was initiated over almost three days ago. At some point, it should have at least shown up on Bleutrade as a "pending deposits." I understand it is customary to have 200 confirms for activity, but I can't see how that would take three days, unless there is something wrong with the node at bata.io to Bleutrade and Cryptopia. I am certainly no expert, but have seen and read about this happening before with other coins. It's a digital jungle out there!
I hope my, and others transactions can be found/ recovered.

Six days later and NO resolution, No follow up by Admin, and no BATA in my account. I have given you all the information you needed to track down this situation and find out what happened. I do not understand why you have not offered any update to all of us who have lost our BATA.

No, you did not "help" me. You may have submitted support tickets, but you didn't bother to follow up or inform me of the outcome. I've waited patiently for over a week and you only reply when I begin to get flustered. Worst, now you blame the user. If I was the only one this happened to, I'd let it go, but I'm not, and you know it! It should not matter if coins go to a wallet or an exchange. Your system is flawed and hundreds, if not thousands, of people have lost money mining your unsupported and lack-luster coin. If you really cared about your customers, you would find out why so MANY people have lost, and are still losing, their transactions. If you don't believe me, just read the BATA forums ANYWHERE on the internet.
 
So, instead of pounding my head, I will join the chorus of other people in the forums, bemoaning your "coin," and will work to get it delisted in as many places as possible!

Work has been done on the internal firewall within Bata's code adding RPC functions. Some other tweaks are being made and I will advose once it has been committed to Github.

All exchanges will be advised to update wallet once completed.
