I would like to know one thing here and i am not clear about it.
Many altcoin campaigns gives payment in ETH token and that comes on the ETH address.

So it means they are actually paying in ETH?
Is Eth token is small fraction of Eth currency ? but then they have their own Altcoin names...how possible ?

Can anyone remove the doubts and guide me.

Thanks

A google search would save you a lot of time when it comes to understanding these tokens.
If they are saying Ethereum tokens, they are referring to tokens built on top of ETH, not ETH itself.

A decent explanation exists here:
https://blockgeeks.com/guides/ethereum-token/

Good luck!

This means that you need to educate yourself about these ethereum tokens, what they are, how they behave and how they get their value.

Basically all these tokens which are held on the Ethereum smart contracts system are called ERC-20 tokens. These token are depolyed into the network and yes are sent and received as assets from your ethereum address.
But no they aren't a small fraction of ethereum and have nothing to do with ethereum.

Think about it this way. It's just creating a new altcoin but in a much easier way as the network is already there and people already have the wallets. The dev just needs to edit a few things like name, ticker and total supply and boom token created.

They earn their value like every other altcoin or token that exists through trading. These tokens are traded on exchanges (mainly etherdelta.com) and that's how they have a price. People buy --> price up. People dump --> price down.

Check this token for example : https://etherscan.io/token/0x9e77d5a1251b6f7d456722a6eac6d2d5980bd891

I hope you understood. If not you can ask questions.

No, those ETH tokens are called erc20 tokens so don't get wrong if they are paying through ETH address as it is the only way to get those tokens.

Is Eth token is small fraction of Eth currency ? but then they have their own Altcoin names...how possible ?
No it's not even an ETH. That's the feature of ETH having smart contracts.

Even I had this doubt and I had even given an address which used to not support tokens . But later on I realized that there are many tokens and you can have an individual address to recieve or send different tokens respectively.

Basically there are many new tokens which are introduced like weekly or even daily . Few pay people in their tokens to promote it . Basic what happens is that you will receive the payment in your ETH wallet in the form of the coin you selected and you can only convert that into Ethereum or Bitcoin or any currency only after the ICO ends.

If the ICO is able to raise alot of funds then the coins will have much higher value comparatively and then you can get much more with those tokens when you will convert them.

the purpose of payment in ETH is the value of their coins if in money it must go through the parent is eth, so if and follow a campaign and in pay with coins then you can sell coins with ETH units, and if you trade you must have ETH to buy the you want to buy and sell

You mean the tokens supported by ERC20-token, they are made by the Ethereum smart contracts. If you join a bounty campaigns of a particular token or coin, you will receive it depends on your stake and provide your ETH address, you can have it for example in MEW (myetherwallet.com) . Most of them are being distributed after the crowdsale. Then after receiving, you can sell it on exchanges where it is currently listed and convert it on BTC, ETH, USD or other altcoins.

Eth tokens are made on the eth smart contract . They are not the same. Basically with eth you can create "assets" and that is the tokens. you can read asimple explanation of it in this website: https://blockgeeks.com/guides/ethereum-token/
Hope it clears your mind.

Not ethereum, the tokens are actually a different raw coins which are backed by erhereum network but different than ethereum.
These tokens are supported and stored in ethereum address, have their own value in market.
So if someone pays you in tokens, and a token may have any value depends on its popularity.
When tokens are sold, these are exchanged by eth at first.

They are bounties, they'll pay tokens based on a certain percentage of a total supply or the amount raised.
It's called Ethereum tokens but it's not really ethereum, usually when they run the ICO they will require you to invest Ethereum so that's it.
If you want to know more, you did your own research, internet is your best friend in the world of crypto everything is online.

Thanks everyone for their reply and Guidance.
But then one thing comes in my mind.
If you make an altcoin, you have to make its own blockchain and then expenses on listing on exchanges etc.

But for the ETH tokens, they are already available on ETH  network and are on exchanges as soon as the ICO ends..SO there is less chances of Dev of eth token scams as the tokens already on the public network for usage and exchange?

no. the chance of devs scamming is still the same as on other altcoin, they can still run away with the money right after the ICO ends. the only difference i can see is that ETH tokens ICO are just on top of a famous coin

Due to lack of campaigns in btc I recently joined a campaign in Ethereum. So if they pay me in tokens how are these tokens exchanged ? I use Exodus wallet and this wallet has a feature to convert Ethereum to bitcoin, can I use this to convert those or there are any new steps to follow ? Sorry but although a legend in Btc I have almost no clue about altcoins in general (except mining them with GPU- rigs).

I would like to know one thing here and i am not clear about it.
Many altcoin campaigns gives payment in ETH token and that comes on the ETH address.
That's very popular as developers and companies that wants to have their own coin/token are using Ethereums smart contract.

So it means they are actually paying in ETH?
No, and it's rare to see a campaign that's going to pay their participants for ETH but I saw a campaign that paid their participants with ETH [CLOSED] 🎮 Cash Poker Pro 🎮 platform that will change the world of poker

Is Eth token is small fraction of Eth currency ? but then they have their own Altcoin names...how possible ?
They are different currency, those alt coins names are the name of that token and it has it's own value after it's ICO.

If you make an altcoin, you have to make its own blockchain and then expenses on listing on exchanges etc.
That's why there is the feature of ERC20 token from Ethereum, just use it's smart contract. And when it comes to listing on an exchange, yes it's your own expense. Are you planning to do so?

But for the ETH tokens, they are already available on ETH  network and are on exchanges as soon as the ICO ends..SO there is less chances of Dev of eth token scams as the tokens already on the public network for usage and exchange?
I can't really get your point on this.
