Institutionals and governments are more and more getting interested in the blockchain technology. Some countries actually started to implement some blockchain related projects. Offering security, transparency, efficiency, operating quicker and being more accurate, the blockchain technology can definitely be seen as a great tool and opportunity to upgrade and improve some institutionnal processes where citizens are interacting and concerned (certificates, land registry, voting system...) through smart contracts for example.

Different companies are developing platforms in order to position themselves on this fast growing market: Microsoft (Azure platform), Factom, Clearpoll, Invotra to name just a few of them. Their solutions are however rather at an experimental stage and successful tests and implementation will condition their further development. Even if some governements are keen, others are still looking at these technologies suspiciously. Successfull implementations in partly public sectors, like energy, may be of help and a great example for institutions who are still hesitating whether going further or not.

Governments and institutionnals eyeing at the blockchain technology and considering its implementation will probably quicken the ongoing works aiming at drawing a legal framework taking blockchain technologies into account. The question remains how quick this will happen: looking at how quick e-government procedures have been implemented, it still may take a while.

In my country, such technologies are not interested officials. Only through personal communication with the citizens have the opportunity to obtain bribes. The electoral system also can be completely changed using the blockchain technology but who is interested in it? I think we will not soon see this in practice.

I really thought that blockchain is immutable? Meaning, records or data can't be change that why proponents of this technology are pushing for it. And any changes or modification will break the chain, then that blockchain has lost its integrity. So I have to disagree with your statement, on the contrary, it is best suited for electoral process because the data can't be tampered.

As I also believed that if government or institutions will implement blockchain, there will be a lot of improvements because the data can be shared about its different sector, so their services to the people will be quick as well. I know that there are certain countries doing some experiment but we haven't seen the results yet. But I agree that it will take quite some time before we can get the fruits of blockchain technology.

Beyond Bitcoin, it is actually the technology behind Bitcoin that is holding great promise of the future as it has thousands of applications and all industries can take advantage of its many benefits and advantages. We have already witnessed different ICOs of different programs all using the blockchain technology purportedly to advance the causes of the industries they are representing.

In the coming years, we are expecting a big boom of different industries and yes even the governments using the blockchain to their own interests. And since the technology is open to all and is unconditionally free, anybody and any organization can use it. Even those governments against Bitcoin (like China and maybe also Russia) are looking at ways they can use the blockchain technology to improve their delivery of services and further upgrade their systems.

Blockchain is not easy to develop and you need to have a team of expert coders. And as a 3rd world country, it is not easy to have such team and you gotta hire from other countries. Also it is expensive to have your own mining infrastructures. And it is not really appropriate for a government to base a platform on other blockchain cause that would mean they are under some virtual entity.

In my country, Bitcoin still isn't that known. Users don't even go near 10% of the population, and the people who know about it doesn't go further than that, either.

Our central bank allowed Bitcoin to regulate as a form of remittance in 2013 to monitor illegal transactions such as money laundering and terrorism funding, but aside from that, our government has not made any statements nor plans about it. They're probably just waiting for a scandal or something huge before they start to think about what to do with it.

This is the problem with underdeveloped countries. We're too traditional, and we like to keep it that way. Global competition doesn't really bother our government that much.  Sad

It's great to see government also aware of blockchain existense. When they become more understand how bitcoin really work , they can prevent and regulate bitcoin with better way especially when bitcoin's demand getting high recently ( $ 5500++ )

For those country that is less corrupt than other countries will more likely to embrace the Blockchain services for their government because this kind of technology is all about transparency and reliability so the more countries that will implement this technology to their system will show their people a huge amount of political honesty. I really believe that Blockchain thing is the future for the whole world for now.

This is of course because blockchain technology will be more secure than the international currency, in my country have had projects on blockchain issues for banks in the country. I think all countries should care about it because it is the technology of the future because they are quite useful as the speed of transaction will be faster than security.

For government, blockchain technology can bring many benefits. Because it is the economy and security that is important for the government. With Blockchain technology, criminal records and economic reports will be preserved forever.

The blockchain technology allows us to greatly reduce the cost of elections and referendums. But let's face the truth. I doubt that politicians who have power want on each question to consult with people. They will by all means try to retain the existing electoral system to which they are adapted. I believe that such a system can only take on Switzerland.

Yes block chain technology can be used on government services. Imagine a system that
everything should be verified and confirmed by all its users. Corruption will be reduced
by doing this since it will not only the officials who can control it but anyone on who is
on the system and it is irreversibly.  Smiley
