Electrum 2.9.3 importing private key

this is driving me barmy, I thought I had a handle on it but apparently not!!!!!!

using Electrum 2.9.3 how do i import a btc private key? im trying to claim my bch
insturctions are send you btc to bittrex
import you private key into a bch wallet

Sweep shows "no inputs"
New Wallet shows below

Standard Wallet
Wallet with 2FA
Multi sig
Watch Bitcoin

i thought it would be so simple, aarrggghhhhh
im using debian8

Its actually very simple. All you need to do is to ensure you peruse the whole option on the electrum software in other to see the private key. You can equally just scan it .  When you are on Electrum on the upper panel, just locate wallet then you see private key click on it then you see the keys attached to each wallet address where you can then copy to where you taking it too.

Another way to go is to click on addresses locate the address you have btc before the fork, then right click to choose the option of private key, this is quite simple because it will not only show the private key to that address but also the bar code which you can scan. If your are using coinomi mobile wallet, its very much easier.

in order to "import" your private keys in Electrum (not sweep, that is different), you need to create a new wallet without a seed.
from file choose New/Restore and then after giving it a new name select Standard Wallet, Next, Use Public or Private key, Next, and now paste your private key here.
after creating this wallet you can always come back to this and just import new ones in here using the wallet option from menu.

Now, I'll send that to a new paper-wallet and wait for the confirms...

Thennnnn find a debian supported bch wallet,
orrrrrrr can i import/depoist the original btc/bch private key into bittrex, problem is I can not seem to find the import/depoist function on bittrex...

Then im going to sell the bch!

now to get the bch...

what a total brain root this is if you get something small wrong and am tight for time...

Your should NEVER bitcoin in a hurry... that is a surefire way to screw something up and lose coins.

Also, the transaction you posted: https://blockchain.info/tx/81ba96e85723a00052d9e38852833d1041f2bb8553147c8240f5fe7b35739217 seems to have confirmed. It looks like 0.0193 BTC was sent from 1Lr8UiSbFS341TQWqJXSeRoy1DSmKiNnfD to 163433n4Vb9jVhDEJmnjoSMoe38yc7gsGk.

It isn't that difficult at all if you read carefully and take your time.

The entire process of claiming your BCH is very simple and goes something like this:
1. Send your BTC to a new wallet (This is to safeguard your BTC)
2. Import your OLD BTC private keys into a BCH wallet
3. There is no step 3.

You seem to have managed to achieve Step 1 already, so that's good... to do Step 2, I'd suggest a nice each approach of simply installing ElectronCash and importing your OLD BTC private key(s) into that. You should get all your BCH and you can then send them wherever you want (Bittrex etc.) using a similar UI to Electrum.
