Gen 1 ?

I have the same mobo, 8 GPUs and it doesn't work if PCIE isn't in Gen 2.

I build and sell rigs! I also sell ssd clones of the most stable Windows+Claymore+AMD driver combo you'd ever used.

Tried auto and Gen 1, the same result. Switched these cards to other rigs and i made 12 x rx570 with ethos on this mobo.

So you got it to work with 12 nvidia on windows with Gen 2?

I only have 8 Nitros so i'm unsure if this would work on yours too.

Try it, you won't lose anything anyway.

Just wanted to Verify!

Ive heard some rumors that its now possible to use more than 8 cards on Windows 10 systems, so shutdown my rigs and mixed up one with 10 Nvidia cards, thats now doing rock solid on all 10!  The 1709 Update fixes this limit.

Can anyone confirm what the limit is now?
Can anyone confirm that its the same for AMD cards? I Don`t have enough cards to verify this at the moment.

there is no limit for nvidia cards only amd drivers block more then 8 cards...

I've seen reports from people not being able to run more than 13 nvidia cards in one rig. Didn't try that many myself so can't say for sure, but those who tried it said that they could add more amd cards to that same rig (up to 19 cards in total), but not more nvidia cards (so the rig would work with 13 nvidia + 6 amd, but not with 14 nvidia cards).

You could go 13 Nvidia cards and 6 Nvidia mining cards. That is the secret !

It's not a secret, we're probably reading the same forum, I also saw that message about mining cards working. Smiley I just don't think that mining-specific cards (especially the ones without video outputs) are a good investment for small miners so I didn't mention those in my previous post. But yeah, 19 nvidia cards should work if 6 or more them are the mining edition cards.

All - The following is my email exchange with ASRock support.  Thought it may be helpful to others.  The 'hack' below did NOT work for me.  I had to roll back to an earlier build AND had to do the hack.

Rig:
H110ProBTC+
Trying to build 12 GPU rig, can only get 7 cards running
8 - 1060 EVGA GTX GPUs
8 GB RAM
Windows 10 Pro 1709

I am still having issues with this motherboard.  I have a somewhat bizarre situation.

Regardless of the number of GPUs I have installed in the MB, device manager throws a code 43 on the 3rd from the bottom in the device manager list.  Meaning, if I have 10 cards installed, the 8th card is not working and shows code 43.  If I only have 6 cards installed, then the 4 the card throws the code.

I've used DDU to uninstall and then reinstall Nvidia's drivers at least 4 times.

Thoughts?

ASRock Support:

This issue is related to newer OS version, Windows 10 RS3 (1709) 16299 build.

If using previous Windows OS version, RS2 (1703) or RS1 (1607), the issue would not exist.

May also try work around with registry trick (see below for detail) to check. Otherwise, please use previous Windows version.

However, we recommend user to use previous Windows 10 version for their system.

(work around with regedit) code 12/43

However, may give it a try with registry trick below to check if it worked. Otherwise, please use Windows 10 RS2 or RS1.

Click the Start button, type regedit in the Start Search box, and then click regedit in the Programs list.

User Access Control permission If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type the password, or click Continue.

Locate the following registry subkey, and then click it:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\PnP\Pci

If the HackFlags registry entry is not present, follow these steps:

On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD (32-bit) Value.

Type HackFlags, and then press ENTER.

On the Edit menu, click Modify.

In the Value data box, type 0x600, click Hexadecimal in the Base area, and then click OK.

Exit Registry Editor.

If the HackFlags registry entry is present, follow these steps:

Right-click HackFlags, and then click Modify.

In the Value data box, type 0x600, click Hexadecimal in the Base area, and then click OK.

Exit Registry Editor.

Hi I am trying to get 12x 1070 running on Win10/Biostar BTC-250PRO
ATM getting WHEA uncorrectable BSOD, putting it down to driver or installation issue but now worried I cannot find any confirmed details of Win10 systems over 8 NVidia GPUs.

@roptix did you have any joy?

The question is, does one want to have more than 9 GPUs on a Windows computer?  Grin There are far more suitable options than Windows for this.

Does one want to have more than 9 GPU's on Windows?  No.  But one might be stuck with Windows.  I have two mining rigs, both Windows.  When I have time I am going to convert them to Linux.

Biostar tb250btc pro
4 1060 6gb 2 1060 3gb on cheap chinese risers
Windows 10 1703 to start 1709 to finish
390.xx to start 388.31 in middle end with 388.13
4gb ram
cheap 1151

Once again I was struggling with this upon adding a sixth card. Only 5 were seen at first and then I plugged the sixth one in  Roll Eyes DOOH! Then when I reboot only 5 again but 1 had dropped off and another came on. Tried changing drivers. No change. Then when trying to change again, windows said gtfo and refused to play anymore.

so
I rebuilt my usb bootable with the new 1709 . loaded it up :spinning wheels: and all 6 show in device manager! Driver that loaded is 388.13
mining like a mofo!

This is going to eventually be 12 1060 6gb on a custom built frame I made.

I can make anything you can think of as long as it is LxWxH
Normal stock size is 20L x 14W x 10 1/2H for 6 gpu
and 24 x 14 x 10 1/2 for 8 GPU and 2 PSU
I just made one that was 17W 25W x 7 tall with PVC instead of wood.
have a look here (eBay) https://www.ebay.com/itm/263432567696?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649
and local craigslist (and many others across western us) https://seattle.craigslist.org/est/sop/d/mining-frames-for-gpus-eth/6466654244.html

Really? Can you show us screenshot of all 9 cards mining at same time? As far as we know, Windows 10 does NOT support more than 8 nvidia cards.
