Just wanted to let you know about our digital token sale which is currently ongoing. Details are below.


What is DigitX?

DigitX is a new Ethereum ERC20 token which will be deployed in software and hardware applications for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics. The DigitX team is focused on building an ecosystem of real usable products which contribute to the advancement of AI and robotics - more specifically to the development of open source deep neural nets and open source hardware that is mostly 3d printable.

To participate in our crowdsale - you can send Ether to contract address 0x9a4fe70bb7b39127f4772acaf0d000578644b39d.

 A whole number of |X| tokens will be distributed based on the current price. If you send more Ether than required for a whole number of tokens, your change will be automatically added to the donation pool.

Total Tokens: 1 billion
Initial Offering Tokens: 1 million - tokens which are being sold in our initial offering
Donation Pool Tokens: 10 million - after the first 1 million tokens are sold, futher subscriptions will be taken via donation. All addresses which donate will be awarded tokens based on the proportion of their donation to the total donation pool during the merge mining period. (estimated at ~40+ years)
Sponsorship Tokens: 239 million )- seed tokens to be invested in projects which contribute to the ecosystem
Mineable Tokens: 562.5 million - Tokens to be merge mined with Ethereum.
Lottery Tokens: 187.5 million

No doubt about it jacafbiz, it is a competitive market - that's for sure. Its why we're approaching it from an open source community perspective.

If you think about it, hundreds of billions of dollars have been spent on the financial system over hundreds of years and never produced Bitcoin until quite recently.

Innovation is constant - and we hope to be a part of that innovation by building a community around AI and Robotics that is easy for the average user. Many strong brands and names have been built by engaging the community early and building the products that people actually want to use.

Its definitely important what we're able to build and how users engage with that product - so hopefully that can do the talking as we move forwards past the idea stage.

You're right - AI like any technology can be used for good and bad. In fact there are a large number of private research centres focused on development in this area already - but which do you think is safer- to be able to see the source code and models running on GitHub where model safety can be assessed by anyone with an internet connection - or developed in a private lab where you don't get to have a say?

Yup - the reasons for the amount are included in the whitepaper. This is a token for use in software products and over the long term the aim is to keep the relative cost of the token low. The slow release of tokens along with the integration with software means that having a larger number of tokens has a higher probability of achieving that aim.

This is a token crowdsale - not an ICO. If you have an interest in AI and Robotics or want to contribute to its open source development and gain early access to tokens which can be used on our platform and products - then this is the right vehicle for you.

From a legal perspective - even if some regulator decided to categorise our limited value crowdsale as an ICO - in the US this would fall under the SEC's exemption for non-profits as DigitX has been released by the Association for the Advancement of AI, Robotics and the Digital Economy (website in development). We haven't considered offering this crowdsale in China (and as such have not done a Chinese language translation).  

We're more interested in building a community and real world software over the long term than in trying to make a quick buck on the "ICO" craze.

Well said, money is not everything has we all know if, how much did Satoshi throws at Bitcoin to make it a success that is why a decentralise system will always have a better chance of success than the centralised ones
