Nothing big has taken place making the bitcoin holders think of dying. What's been happening around is simply the regular growth. Now the price seems to decrease, but this will soon start to increase further reaching new ATH. What is required at present is the patience to keep hold.

I am quite new to this.

I can see quite a lot of Bitcoin going `missing` when someone dies. (without giving survivors your passwords etc)

Well thats true btc will be gone forever if the users died without informing anyone about their private keys and any important details.

But there is a way to avoid such situation if you are worried in that scenario to happen. Just dont be selfish and let someone you trust to know the every details about you.

I prepared myself for this so i have my partner to be aware of what im doing incase im gone she will continue what i left for them.

Another solution is having your beneficiaries with 1/2 of the private key, write the other half on your will with clear instructions about how to spent it.

my mom brother and sister know that I am holding coins and my private keys are stored on my laptop and kne on my email account.. and I am pretty confident that if I die (I am not want to die now haha) they can take my crypto and used it.
this is a good thread hahahhahaha I didn't think of dying but I guess this is nice strategy and backup in case it happens

It is not first time that i heard about this, and I must say that I am not sure what to think. I know that those Bitcoins are lost forever, if person how died did not pass password on to its relatives. But that is their decision, and those Bitcoins belongs to them. On some hand it would be wrong to give those Bitcoins to someone else, like miners. And on the other hand, it would be bad if they stay left forever. It is tough decision, and one day something will needs to be done about that.

This kinda look interesting, your problem seems very deep.
Yes we are not robot to live in this world without worrying what will happen when we die but this kind of situation is only natural and bitcoins is keep on growing so you should not worry much about it.
If you worry too much in your side then you should put your username and password in your last will so your love one will inherit it when you die.

i think if i am dying, i will choose someone from my family to use my bitcoin for his/her good thing or i can tell to him/her to separate the amount for each of the family member. after i give my private keys, i only hope that he/she can use the bitcoin a good thing and he can use bitcoin to continue his/her life and will help me to spread about bitcoin again. i am sure that my family member can help me to do this because i know my family and i think i can let my bitcoin to them.

I do not think we should be afraid or worried if we have bitcoin for example you will be dying or even to death, you must have a good friend and you can believe it can understand about bitcoin so that later can help you in At that time it all happened, even wife or family we can learn about bitcoin so that later can continue and keep it, of course all nobody knows when we are dying or died.

that's why we have to provide a basic knowledge of bitcoins to our closest people.
we really can not live long of course, but there is no harm we backed up important information about our finances to our closest people.

The good site of it is that the loved ones or friends that you will be sharing bitcoin wallet access with are actually would not be worried about any taxes from the government in exchange of the sum amount they will going to get ones the bitcoin holder passes away.

try to make a testament  on where the private key is trusted into or try to make a safety vault and put all your private key of all your digital assets like bitcoins and altcoins ans make a note who will take care of them of who will continue your legacy and hoping that the one who receive it might be able to grow continuously more about your cryptocurrency investment.

If you are worried, tell your tusted loved ones you have some bitcoins and leave instructions on how to retrieve them

very simple answer. I like
that's what the OP should do to overcome his fear. you can tell your closest family what you are doing. share knowledge with them.

We should just at least acknowledge how btc is very secured that even dying ones have no chance if sharing their coins if ever they really didnt leave steps on how to get their wealth. Unlike in banks where you can just show legal papers and the bank it self can do the cash transaction for a living one. But in some cases their maybe a will to make but i think btc is really secured than this banks.

Well, one thing we can do as well is that we can list the steps of getting bitcoin and how to encash them and with all the necessary login access put it on a box and have it safely deposited to the banks and when we are gone, our loved ones can get it to the bank and they can enjoy our hard eaned bitcoins Smiley

Dissimilar to in banks where you can simply indicate lawful papers and the bank it self can do the money exchange professionally one. Yet, sometimes their possibly a will to make yet I think btc is truly secured than this banks.

This is solved by simply holding your private key ina  safe deposit box and allowing access to it in your will to someone.

Make sure your inheritor receives the private key after your death. Else the coins are lost. Noone knows how many coins are already lost (locked in a specific address forever because the privat key is lost) but this effect should decrease the supply of bitcoins and increase the price over time.
