I’m currently running a 4 card 1070 rig. Everything was running around 57-59 degrees C all weekend even during the hottest parts of the day. Last night I stopped my cards from mining ZEC to VERT for a minute to test my mining pool. The temperature on the 3 cards shot up fo 64-69 degrees even at the coldest part of the night. I switched back to ZEC and the temp stayed the same and never deceased. I have one card running at 55 like it used to. The rest are stuck at 65 65 and 69.  I don’t like being that close to 70

Obercloxk settings are
Power 70
Core +100
Memory +350

What could be the reason for the sudden increase?

Was the temperature increase temporary after starting the new miner or permanent?
Did you use different afterburner settings for the second miner? It happens that the gpu heads up at the beginning before the fans kick in depending on your settings.

To really help you please share also these informations with us.

Double check the overclock and fan settings to make sure they haven't reset. You can also try draining all the capacitors by shutting down, disconnecting the power and start the system until all the power is drained.

I shut down the other miner and all my afterburner settings are still the same. They all just won’t go back down. I may try giving her a break and shutting down at lunch today and hope that that will correct whatever issue is going on. I added an extra fan this morning and put the temp limit at 69 to prevent going above 70. Hopefully they fix themselves I don’t like running them this hot.

what are you clocking the cards with.

looks to me that  the clocks are lost on 3 of your cards.  and good on one of your cards.

check each card carefully.

do you use msi afterburner?  it can drop settings

You can also do a clean install of the drivers after uninstalling them in safe mode using DDU. That will definitely reset the cards back to the default settings.

I am using afterburner and that is what the dashboard in afterburner is showing for my cards.  It does appear that 1 card is working correctly.  All settings are exactly the same and synced across all cards.  When afterburner drops settings is that noticeable somewhere? Or is a reboot required to get them back in line?

Do you have any sort of custom fan curve setup in MSI Afterburner? If it was accidentally adjusted, it could explain your unusual results.

I do have a custom fan graph set up but nothing has changed. I went through each setting and ensured they were the same as they always have been. Just happened randomly when I downloaded oneclickminer to try and mine some Vertcoin.  I noticed it soon as it started. WHen I went back to EBWF it stayed just as high.  Once I get home I will try to rollback the drivers and if that fails then uninstall them and reinstall fresh.  Hopefully that fixes it. I was happy with 55-61 degrees.  Not a fan of them pushing 69.

To troubleshoot properly you need to minimize the variables to try and isolate the problem. Any time you update or reinstall the drivers, you need to do a clean install of the drivers after running DDU in safe mode to remove all the registry entries. Simply rolling back the drivers doesn't remove everything.

There is also a setting in Afterburner to 'delete saved settings from the registry'. You should have that enabled.
