It would help if there were more meaningful newbie questions. Right now it just seems to be an artificial barrier to hold people back and force them to post more or less ridiculous things on a daily basis. All in all pretty much like the US deficit ceiling and Congress... except there the troll invasion was successful beyond measures.

I think the newbie forum is pretty cool.  Especially after the other day after learning about the kernel modification hack to get some more mhash/sec out of my miners.  It was in this forum far before one of the mining ones.  It'll be on my to-read list for a while, that's for sure.

Just as a reminder, if you feel that you're ready to leave this forum, we DO process the whitelist requests. It's not just a sticky that's there for looks.

I wouldn't immediately leave but with the training wheels off I'd ride my bicycle a few more blocks and play in the discussion threads sometimes. I'm still trying to explain bitcoins to myself so there's not a whole lot I could say.

I browse all sections of the forum, really I signed up because I am mining bitcoins and there are some interesting threads in the mining section.
I am also interested in the economics behind it, and I really hope to see bitcoin grow to be accepted everywhere.
