Hello, I have an eBit e( miner (6.3Th/s) working away in my garage. The noise, isn't so loud it's an issue but I was wondering if I could change the fan. I found a 12cm fan which I used, but it was no where near man enough for the job. Has anyone succesfully managed to change a fan to something quieter?

If so, what fan did you use?

Thanks.
There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

You need a certain amount of cooling so changing to a different fan is not the way.

You need to have a soundproof cabinet with good ventilation.

It's not possible to change the fan for quieter operation because any other fan will not have enough static pressure and/or airflow to cool the miner aquedately, and other possibly suitable fans will be just as loud. Philipma has a YouTube channel where he documents quieting Avalon miners and it'd work for your Ebits as well; it should be cheaper than a soundproofing cabinet. The channel is called Philipma 1957.
