I'm also new. But what I understood is DON'T trust any pump channel or group. Don't follow it, study and do your own strategy if you want to trade in +.
This pumps group can make you profit but one day you will loose everything because of somebody's opinion!

Just go with trial and error for now. Move a really small amount of bitcoin to a reputable exchange (Bittrex, Binance) and use that small amount to trade just to get a feel of the markets.
I'm afraid the best way to learn about coins is to do the research yourself. If you base your opinion on someone else's article then you're doing something wrong; only use those information to a certain extent. Read the whitepaper, then join the certain coin's Slack channel or forum to ask questions.

I would suggest staying away from Pump channels/groups. Most will make it seem like you can make money with them when in reality you will be the one being dumped on and losing your investments.

There are tons of sources related to crypto. All of them has been written by real people. It means that this sources are result of their trial and error. I advice to use first of all main news portals (e.g cointelegraph, bitcoin(com) etc) and for some practical issues use this great forum.
Here people also had prev experience and shares their troubles same as success. So, don't be afraid to asking here whatever you want, but don't forget to search over existing topics before starting new ones!

Welcome to the crypto world. To begin learning of cryptocoins, I would suggest you to understand what are digital cryptocoins and tokens. A lot of people believe everything under crypto market is a cryptocurrency. That is not the case. In certain scenarios like mcap which is token, no matter how fraudulent its promoters are, but it is not the crypto coin. More mainstream example is ripple, which is also a token and not crypto-currency. In the initial phase stick to the bitcoin, ethereum. Once you grow your confidence then step by step you will learn more about some reputable alt crypto.

You're smart to not follow the pump groups. I use Telegram mostly for business. But as far as trading is concerned, just remember to buy low, sell high, and don't panic. I don't trade much anymore, but when I did, I once made a decent profit because somebody pumped a coin I was holding.

I cant comment on pump channels or ICO specific topics, but if you are looking for some general information sites, below are some of my favorites that I send to friends when they express interest in the technology. Hope you find it useful. Reddit: A multi reddit with some of the best subreddits revolving Bitcoin and crypto currencies - https://www.reddit.com/user/P3rplex/m/digitalcurrency/Coursera: Princeton Universities Crypto Currency and Blockchain course. Its free and has TONS of great videos. Great place to start. https://www.coursera.org/learn/cryptocurrencyPodcasts: Unchained - My favorite and best produced - https://www.forbes.com/podcasts/unchained/Lets Talk Bitcoin - https://letstalkbitcoin.com/ (this is more like a channel that has a bunch of different podcast producers shows on it. Some are better than others) The Investors Podcast, We Study Billionaires - https://www.theinvestorspodcast.com/ (this one is not only about cryptocurrencies, but has some good episodes about them, like this one https://www.theinvestorspodcast.com/episodes/bitcoin-mastermind-charlie-lee-tuur-demeester/ ) NPR’s RadioLab - Not only about cryptocurrencies but has a good episode about one of them - http://www.radiolab.org/story/ceremony/NPR’s Planet Money - Not only about cryptocurrencies but has a good episode about one of them http://www.npr.org/sections/money/2016/06/29/484029238/episode-708-bitcoin-divided or http://www.npr.org/sections/money/2017/02/10/514577243/episode-753-blockchain-gangJoe Rogan Podcast - Not only about cryptocurrencies but has a good episode about one of them http://podbay.fm/show/360084272/e/1390877423?autostart=1http://podbay.fm/show/360084272/e/1473292089?autostart=1Youtube: 1. This guy does a great job explaining all things crypto in an easy to digest way. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCggNMXYug_4DYFWniw7EfjA2. This young programmer does a pretty good job of diving into some topics and easy to understand. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCrYmtJBtLdtm2ov84ulV-yg3. Andreas Antonopolus’s youtube channel, this guy is a well versed Bitcoin advocate that has a shit ton of talks about a variety of topics surrounding Bitcoin, and although the quality is not great, he does a good job of explaining it. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJWCJCWOxBYSi5DhCieLOLQ4. This guy produces videos daily and since he is in England, they are up prior to you waking up. Some higher level topics and news. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCLnQ34ZBSjy2JQjeRudFEDw

Hello there! I believe that pump groups is not the best way ... Study the movement of the desired market, learn from your mistakes and suspect any good profits too .

I would suggest starting from basic understanding what is under the hood of the cryptocurrency: what is the blockchain, how various "proofs of" work and so on. I'm on the halfway with the Princeton's "Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency Technologies" Coursera course and it's really great.
