What I do to calm my anger down is walk away from the anger scene  and go to watch my little kitten play her little fluffy ball around me, then it makes me happy again.

When I am angry I take a step outside and smoke a cigarette, it is a great way for me to relax not only because of the physical side given by the cigarette but also because it gives me a quiet moment to think about whatever it is that is making me angry.

Going out of the scene of what is getting me angry is a good therapy for me and trying to take my mind of the event that brought about being angry, replacing it with thoughts of what makes me smile. Then there are situations when walking away might not be appropriate,I just stay and weep or I yell or and insult back

Breathe slowly. By breathing like this, the rhythm of a faster heartbeat will regain calm. Breathe deep enough for your stomach to expand as you inhale.

It's true controlling anger is essential to life to avoid chaos and the like. So I breathe so deep then releases after 2-3 seconds to lessen the tension I was feeling.

Most of the time I just think more of happy memories to lessen my anger. I also listen to my favorite music to calm down. Or just drink hot coffee.
