When and how to get bitcoin Gold?

I'm actually new here, and I want to know when and how can you get bitcoin gold. I have stored all my coins in an Electrum wallet as I've read that you should put your bitcoin on a wallet which you have access on your private key. After that, I have no idea what to do next, since I can't see the main website of bitcoin gold.  I've been hearing about bitcoin gold being a scam, so I just want to hear your thoughts about this.

Bitcoin gold is basically a premine and people are calling out on it. Bitcoin gold should be transferable if you have your bitcoin private key.
