Has anyone actually been able to get their BTG out of Electrum?
Tried Coinomi, but said wallet did not have funds (similar to what someone else hosted)
You can only do it through coinomi if you have a "1" address... I have a "1" and was able to retrieve some of my BTG... but my other wallet has a segwit address "3" and I can't retrieve any of them.... and I'm scared that I exposed my PK to public sites already and they will steal my BTG.... (bitaddress) I looked up the public address on a block explorer and it shows that it is there... so I don't know what to do.... I even downloaded the BTG core wallet and tried to importprivkey and it didn't work either... Thanks for the info. My address does start with a 3. Hopefully they decide to support it in the future. Now I just wish I never took my BTC off of Bittrex, since they have already given out appropriate BTG.

For whoever is interested, I managed to get my bitcoin gold without using an Android phone. I installed an Android emulator (I used BlueStacks - it's available for all platforms) then installed Coinomi there and followed one of the many guides available. Worked flawlessly.

I looked in Explorer blocks my BTG addresses from electrum.
Why not on one no money.
I can see that addresses start at G and in bitcoin to 1
All the same right to get BTG coins?

I'm offering a service to extract Bitcoin Gold from a 2fa Electrum Wallet, I'll take only 5% of the recovered BTG as a tip. The whole process it's very complicated and risky, yes, and requires a lot of time but it's doable, I will take care of everything, if you are interested hit me a PM or add me on Skype: jayden82@greenmail.netI suggest you to do this, before BTG actually fails, as everyone are saying sell ASAP, so contact me and I'll take care of you. You won't even need to download the entire blockchain of the BTG Core Wallet, I will send BTG to a Coinomi wallet of yours if you wanna hodl them or to an exchange if you wanna sell them (if you are not pratical I can help with this too, don't worry). P.S. Before you do this, you have to empty your Bitcoin Wallet from Bitcoin sending them to a brand NEW wallet, same with Bitcoin Cash, send them to a new Electron or another BCH wallet, so when you have to extract the BTG the wallet has to be empty from BTC and BCH If you don't trust I can walk you through step by step

No problem whatsoever. If you look further up that's precisely what I suggested to others after successfully doing this on my own (mind you, at the time nobody had suggested the bluestacks approach).
Call it convenience, this is what services are for, right?

Probably nothing... unless you happen to have an Electrum 2FA wallet... or a MultiSig wallet... or a SegWit wallet... In which case, your proposed solution simply won't work

After the fork you will need a wallet that supports BTG. It can be done using Coinomi Desktop wallet that allows you to import your private key. https://www.coinomiwallet.org/

Which doesn't work for Electrum 2FA wallets... as they are MultiSig. Coinomi is ONLY useful if the address you have the coins in starts with a "1"... if your address starts with a "3" (either 2FA or MultiSig)... you CANNOT use Coinomi at this time (I believe they said they were working on MultiSig solutions? ) ALSO, this website appears to be a SCAM... being spammed by a bunch of newbies... the official site is www.coinomi.com and they have ONLY (officially) released a wallet for Android

No... the BTG fork was around 24th October 2017. You needed to have BTC BEFORE this date to get BTG. AS, you got bitcoin AFTER that date, there will be not BTG for you.

Ha! thanks. I think I'll wait until either BTG is worth more or Electrum starts supporting it. Might play around with that after the new year though just to learn all this a bit more.

I can tell you now that "Electrum" will likely never support BTG. Given ThomasV never even "supported" BCH which was a much "bigger" fork in terms of mining support and value... I very much doubt he has even looked at BTG What you need is a 3rd party dev (or the BTG dev crew) to create a fork of Electrum that works with BTG... like Jonald Fyookball made with ElectronCash. Again, that project like ALL Electrum forks is not developed by the Electrum devs or supported by them. I'd suggest contacting the BTG via their social media contacts for updates on whether they intend to release an Electrum compatible wallet.

Yea, I'm just gonna hold off and wait and see if the price jumps more. It'a almost not worth all the work right now for like $100.

they'd posted $70k bounty on that. Electrum use smth like remote node in monero so you need atleast server to run it ,but i dont see btg offers smth on that.

Not part of the BTG team, I made this tool https://github.com/Ayms/bitcoin-transactionsThis works for standard and multisig wallets, like Electrum, for BTG now but in fact for any coin based on Bitcoin code, BCH, BTC, zcach, etc (and yes there are dev fees as clearly stated in the description with even a link to people that dislikes it a bit) Probably not totally trivial to use but still easier than whatever exists, and you don't need to run/sync a node and your wallet, that's the whole purpose of this tool This is not something coming from nowhere, you can read those threads https://github.com/BTCGPU/BTCGPU/issues/238 and https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2550529.msg26150335#msg26150335 (and the description of the tool on Github)
