He´s either a newbie in all aspects and just learned that his opinion was completely out of perspective and found more technical material or he just wants notoriety. Anyway, the idea of the new bitcoin is to bring back the power of decentralization having the mining at GPU not ASIC, that will allow more people to participate, but we can´t forget the makers of GPU might be well the big supporters behind all this since they will profit a lot from this project. The fact that the new bitcoin will follow the Segwit is a good sign. More on this we´ll have to wait and see.

Where are you all getting your prices for Bitcoin gold? Which exchanges are currently trading it?
I don't believe BTG has had a chance yet, there was a massive supply of it (due to snapshot) and most people that are trading it are people who are in it for quick profit (selling their share).

Bitcoin hard forks are better than the Altcoin around that's why whenever Bitcoin value is increased the hard forks do the same like Bitcoin Cash.
But some Altcoins also have potential of being the next Bitcoin like Ethereum, LiteCoin etc.

For the first few weeks definitely its price will go down because many people will dump their coin in the market thinking its of no use and that's expected. May be after 3 or 4 months its price will stabilize. But I can see a future for bitcoingold because it can be easily mined through gpu. I am not saying it will replace bitcoin, but it will establish its position among other crypto currencies.

Its really hard to tell if Bitcoin Gold will be the next Bitcoin,yeah its easy to mine bitcoin gold since it will be GPU based and more people can participate in mining the coin.
Its future will be dependent on how many user of the coin can get, maybe ill just mine the coin and wait for a few years to see where it will go.
