thats called a risk, but not all ico project being useless, some times we need to hold the coin or token for long term
depending on the roadmap and team development on that project

ICOs need regulation cos most of them are just there to scam people. Is just few of them that implement their promises, but i don't want government to regulate it.

I agree, most people who participate in ICOs dump them very quickly, they just see it an opertunity to earn faster. nothing good though.

How is a company supposed to reach their goals without funding and crowd support - the whole point of an ICO is to fund a great new idea and in return this idea will give the investors $$$

I agree to an extent, Most ICOs (let's say around 85%) are just sophisticated dumps. I know of three that are already in the top 100 that are obvious scams. That's the risk of crypto though, with the massive gains that can be made in ICOs - there are losses. I've been a victim to them and I'm sure many others have to. There are gems, you just need to find them. Just stray far away to anything that signals even one red flag.

Try to step up your background checking skills before joining any ICO. That is your very important job as an investor. You will end up whining and crying and blaming ICO in general if you fail to do this. Legitimate ICOs will not dump after the release. In fact, some projects offering their tokens through ICO will not give the tokens right away so that there will be no dumping after the release. Legit projects will carefully protect the value of their tokens or coins.

That's what happens when you invest in an ICO that raises $40m, you can't really expect it to trade over ICO price based on idea. It might trade over ICO price in 2 years, but come on, no ICO needs $40m to develop their product.

There are some ICO's that are legit and needed to verify the project. So before investing check the roadmap, team's marketing strategy to be able the ICO to become successful. Thus, not all ICo are useless these days.

So far ICO is like a mushroom that all coming out at the same time, lending platform ICO's are the example after RegalCoin success. Be careful on investing this time..not all are true and legit. Some are riding only on the succes of bitconnect at regalcoin ICO.Invest what you can afford to lost.

My simple response to temptation to get involved in ICO's is "no". I don't think they are useless, some look great, some have been great, however I just dont trust the environment that gives birth to all these projects. Its like the wild west out there  Wink.

Blame the people that keep supporting them. I browsed through current ICO's last week and didn't even click on a single thread as none of them either made sense, or did anything useful.

Who is putting money into this shit?

It’s useless and worthless when the team behind it is lazy and scammers. But there always be a good ICO, believing that there is still a good project is the only choice we do have now. Regret and risk is continuing battle and for me taking the risk is better than regretting for doing nothing.

I was very confident to offer Request Network Ico. It's only been a week since. Ico price is 25-30% below trading. I will not join the ICO after that.

I have experienced bad replay from the two current Ico I have invested in since last two months. I bought the first one at 0.00012btc and it is currently bellow 0.00008btc at wavedex! The reality is I was just send the coins yesterday because the distribution of the coins start since the beginning of October with high investors and we that invest below $500 just got ours yesterday. I have decided never to invest in ico project except the developers are ready to buy back the coins when there are in the market.
