They did for sure. They used to have an oracle that auto-completed your questions a few years ago. I'm sure they have an army now.

Those measures are "too difficult" for a lot of people though. What is needed is a competitor that gives everybody the option to opt in or opt out of sharing their data.

You shouldn't have a problem with the government doing some type of spying. They're not spying on you to exploit you or your family like everyone makes it out to be, they do it to prevent crime, terrorist attacks, etc. People that worry about being spied on are 90% of the time doing something illegal that don't want to get caught.

Well, Facebook and other social media platforms do the same. That's literally where almost their entire revenue comes from.
