Hi there.

i just started reading about bitcoin and there's also a book Mastering Bitcoin Book that i am reading,  alot of things made me curious and i started having fun woth Blockchain too..

i just have bunch of addresses  on my pc  and i want to check them weather they are empty or not.  i tried alot of websites but they are limited to 50 Addresses only  so i want to know if i can download entire Blockchain and sync with my addresses file to see whats in there. i want to keep increasing my knowledge about blockchain  as i am thinking of it to do something my Final year project too.

Thanks    Smiley

the checking of bitcoin  wallet addresses is a very possible one but most times when people ask for such, we see it in various perspectives as it could also mean that you want to monitor all these wallet for some reasons best known to you and as much most people refuse giving out their wallet address. but i will say you check on the blockchain website and find out

Yes  i did  checked them on Blockchain.info  so  that takes  time to check one by one,  thats why i want to find a way to place a list of addresses in a Text Box and check them in Single click.  for example  here  is an Web thats  did my jobs  but its limited to 50 addresses only, see here

You could use Blockchain's API. It doesn't say anything about limits from the documentation. Write as many addresses as you want and separate them using |:

Code:
https://blockchain.info/balance?active=$address1|$address2|etc.

Example (couldn't post it as a direct link but you copy-paste it in your browser to test):

Code:
https://blockchain.info/balance?active=393WFWHcA4JmehmKNKEzizwQi31zR595JG|1GKfk53nujZZEYZg86pPH5xmUM77Q8umq5|39cESrNC9EB1Ke4MwYMkAD89G45pMvtVaF

The output should be divided by 100,000,000 to get the amount in BTC instead of Satoshi's.
