What's the point of Freicoin?
You just lose money by getting it!  Shocked

In my opinion, Freicoin would only gain widespread use if it were the currency of a country whose government could force the people to use it, or if for some other reason, there were no other alternative available without demurrage. But as long as people have the option of choosing Bitcoin, I suspect that most people will, due to the lack of demurrage. (Not to mention the other benefits of bitcoin, such as the larger number of merchants currently that accept Bitcoin vs. Freicoin, etc.). I do think that Freicoin is an interesting concept though, and might appeal to some people who agree with its principles.

If you don't understand currencies in general (concepts like inflation, deflation and demurrage), you cannot understand the approach taken by freicoin, see: http://www.slideshare.net/KyleDrake/bitcoin-the-cyberpunk-cryptocurrency (around slide #70).
