The Beast includes links to two more smear pieces in their gaudy "Xtra Insight" box on the same page.

My takeaway - get out of fiat now.       Smiley

How sad it would be to waste bitcoins on a university tuition in the day and age!

C'mon people! Wake up and smell the net full of free MOOCs!

For people who don't want to read the short paragraph article, but want to know the university name:

This is at California's Draper University.

I haven't heard of it, but will ask around while I'm in Seattle to see if people recognize this university for it's interesting payment methods.

Coinbase for selling BTCs or Vircurex for trading alt cryptocurrencies like DOGEs
CoinNinja for exploring the blockchain.
PM me with any questions on these sites!  Happy to help!

What point does it serve?

This is not the service I would like to receive for btc.

It's just a PR stunt.

I will be thrilled if more universities decide to accept BTC!  One of the reasons my husband and I invested in BTC was with hopes of increasing the funds we have for our kids college tuition in the near future.  It is so expensive and we do not have nearly enough saved for a private university.  We would be fine with a state school but it would better if our kids could have more options.  Hopefully this is just the start of this.
