Is it safe to trade BTC that I have on Bittrex exchange now that the Gold fork has passed?
I'm aware of replay protection but as I haven't claimed my gold, will it be insecure to trade Bitcoin now?

Cheers, Ben.

Why you feel not secure? I think after fork is secure to trade bitcoin again. There is no reoson to doubt anymore.

Yes i agree. After forking is secure. So just try to trade now.
Then you can claim your BTG if you eligible.

As you can see, although new cryptocurrencies have appeared, Bitcoin has been still growing. I suppose, soon it will reach its maximum, but why do you feel so unsafe with trading BTC? Yes, altcoins also live, but they cannot compete with the king of virtual currency.

It is very safe to trade bitcoin now and I have just sold some of my coins this evening. I think you will not have a replay if you do transaction now. I will just advise that you should be careful not to risk of losing the opportunity of the free coins by thinking that the splitting has happened and any moment from now you can used your coin. I think the splitting is going to happen in November and not October as many has been saying on this forum.

Why would it not be safe? you can just trade it for bitcoin, tether, and ethereum (far as i know) better to exchange them as soon as possible before the price will dump much more money than now.
If you dumped then before you could probably have more money than if you sell them now... it was like $400 when it started to be tradeable and now it is below $110 each bitcoin gold.
Anyway, dump them if you want to receive those free bitcoins asap.

i think anti-replay attacks is safe now, but since it is since bitcoingold is just a week old, we didn't know the outcome but if you are trading with bittrex i think it is safer to trade their, but it didn't have any confirmation if they support the 1:1 coin distribution of bitcoin and bitcoigold. bitcoingold gold IMHO can not surpass the value of the bitcoincash due to its less supporters than BCC.
