I bought bitcoin and litecoin on a website, and transferred them to bitcoin and litecoin core (the wallets). At first I succesfully recieved it, however I was moving the wallet.dat directories around for both wallets, and therefore it generated a new wallet without the coins. Now when I open bitcoin core is presents me this (two pictures). the 0.96 BTC is actually the litecoin I bought however I have no idea how to make it go back to the litecoin core wallet and be deemed as legitmate coin.

We cannot see your pictures. Can you upload them to example Imgur?
Why did you move the wallet files around  each other's folders since they are not meant for that way? Because if you accidently replaced the wallet files without taking backups while moving around, you might be in a serious trouble here.
I do not quite understand quite what are you talking about here so the pictures and some more information would help alot.

Basically what happened is I saved the bitcoin core and litecoin core software on my portable hard drive because it was such a huge file and it generated 7 different files, like blocks, wallet.dat etc and it looked messy so I moved it into a folder called bitcoin. But then when i restarted the bitcoin core software it generated a whole bunch of new files again, in which i idiotically didnt really notice, so i moved those files into a folder called bitcoin2 and by the 3rd time i realised what was happening. But i dont understand how the litecoin and bitcoin got mixed up with each other as seen in the photos, i still have all the wallet.dat files but i dont know how to redirect it.

So is the 0.96 LTC? Can you give the txid, because you have censored it?
If you give the txid, then we can see if that transaction even exists yet. Transaction id's are public, although makes the transfer much more easier to locate on the blockchain but still.
It at least says "Not in memory pool", which probably means that all nodes have dropped it.

You will probably need to go much harder way of importing/exporting the private key if you have the private key, or just try copying the wallet.dat to the litecoin's data folder.

For the record, the TXID for the OP is supposedly this: f53850b8050cc30416802426b8ac4959f55728db7b6ad8d34c8ddca46013d7ea

However this transaction is not valid on BTC or LTC networks... Furthermore, the screenshot suggests that transaction was on 9th September... And had 0 confirmations

I suspect that the transaction never confirmed and was eventually dropped by all networks.

OP, unless you can provide the addresses matching this transaction, there isn't much more anyone can do to assist. It looks like the transaction was never confirmed... You'll probably need to use the "zapwallettxes" option to remove the Phantom transaction from your wallet

So if its dropped, then where exactly is the coin? If its unconfirmed where does it go because it isnt in the place I sent it from?

if the transaction is unconfirmed and doesnt exist as pending then the BTC/LTC never leave your origin wallet.
good luck

Which website did you buy the coins from? Did you have an account on there? Or was it simply a "enter your address + credit card details and click buy" type of thing?

If you have an account there, the coins should still be available there, as technically they have not moved. If they're not showing, then you'll need to contact the support for the site you used and ask them for assistance.

Also, do you have some sort of transaction history available on the site? If so, maybe double check the transaction IDs for your coin purchases and make sure they're the same as what the wallet is showing. It's possible that the transaction information you see in the wallet might be incorrect due to it actually being from another network.
