Hello any expert to give me feedback ?
I still have my electrum wallet but with nothing left. What if I export my private key?
Will it still work when BTG is available ?

Yes, you can.

You only sent Bitcoins to BitTrex (Bitcoin Gold doesn't even exist yet). If you had those coins in your wallet before the BTG snapshot, you will get them after the network goes live.

Just calm down and wait for instructions after the fork.

So If now I export my private keys from electrum(even with 0 BTC on it) and import it to the futur BTG wallet. will it work ?

(I am wondering if electrum save your history in term of which BTC you own on electrum wallet before the forks)

thanks

That's right.

Imagine something like this: You had 1 BTC in your wallet. At the moment of the snapshot, someone took a picture of the whole blockchain and saw that you had 1 BTC. Because of that, they wrote down that your address had 1 BTC and should receive 1 BTG after the fork. Since they already wrote this down, you are now free to spend your coins.

What do you mean? You can see the history of your transactions in your wallet.

Hey crusadoxm, same boat here, I've had btc in electrum and want to move it to bittrex or another exchange but it seems risky if there is no known procedure yet for claiming the btg in electrum.  Doesn't seem like a sure thing if electrum hasn't publicly said that they will be supporting btg.  It's a btc only wallet.

The is nothing to worry about... BTG has implemented full 2way replay protection... Feel free to spend your BTC without worry. They (the BTG Devs) are also planning a fork of Electrum that will be BTG compatible.

Refer: https://bitcoingold.org/replay-protection-development/

Thanks, what do you mean by a fork of electrum?  I thought it was only blockchains that fork, are you saying wallets can too or how does that work?
