coinscontrol.com has had a message "Server under maintenance" for a few days now.
I have not been able to reach the admin.

That is not a good sign. That was the site that was going to list Devcoin but which was struggling to download the block chain, right?
Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

It's great to know they're working on it, at least. I know sometimes it can take a while for the blocks to download because there aren't that many peers.

Hey Wiser,

https://raw.githubusercontent.com/wiser-/Devtome/master/receiver_69.csv is a different file than the file working at devcoin.darkgamex.ch/receiver_69.csv

Can you verify that and replace it if it doesn't match the other receiver hosts?

Thank you

CTYA

I'm not sure how to verify. Would it be OK if I just replaced?

Replacing it should work well since the other file is working for new wallet sync
let's try it

I replaced it today about an hour ago. Let me know if that helps Smiley

yes!  that helped sync a wallet that was stuck on receiver_69.csv
it was downloaded from devcoin.org last week and didn't sync

now on to the next problem that keeps receiver_28.csv from downloading

It might only be bad peers in the receiver_27.csv
Maybe we should update all of the receiver files with only known-good peers to avoid new wallets getting stuck

I'm glad my replacement helped. Do you need me to also replace/upload receiver 27? If so, what would be the replacement file? I probably don't even have 27 on my Github account. I used to host these files on my own site, but that site is no longer active.

It might be beneficial to just download all of the receiver files from darkgamex since that is a known-good set and host them at your location

That's a good suggestion. I might go ahead and do that one day, just to have a complete set. Hopefully later this month...

Can you provide a complete link for where to get all the files?

coinscontrol.com is still showing as under maintenance. Have you been able to connect with them since the site went down?

On another note, I just learned about this project, which might present some possibilities for DVC: https://twitter.com/ATUMchain

No.
Why?
C-CEX was on the list posted to this thread several times
and I have carried out the task

I wouldn't trust C-cex with a bottle top.

You and the rest of the devcoin community should take a look at the rest of the list and let me know if there are others you view negatively so I can skip them.

Crypto-Bridge is a decentralized exchange, which means it's clunky but works. Less chance of stolen coins too, from what I understand. If you trade on Crypto-Bridge for the first time, give yourself plenty of time to learn the ropes and buy a small amount of Bitshares (BTS) as that is how you pay your transaction fees on that site.

I was able to open Coins Control today, so they have resumed operations. The DVC market isn't yet up. Looking forward to hearing that it's live Smiley

I would advise against c-cex - after going "on holiday" for a month leaving users unable to access their coins they seem to have done a Yoshit: ignoring tickets, abandoning their BCT thread & multiple reports of missing deposits/withdrawals - check out their thread, it's nasty.

BIG mistake using C-cex.

So you are just reiterating your position
Thank you for the clarification
It appears to be working for you as there are zero votes at C-CEX for devcoin

It's always good to exercise caution about any trading platform, but also good to have options. If we can get to the point where several trading platforms list DVC, then people who want to trade it can pick their favorite platform and stick with it. I know people who have been satisfied with C-Cex for years, but they note that things have changed for the worse over the past year. Unfortunately that is an all too common tale in the cryptocurrency industry. That's why the overall goal should be to be listed on more than one trading platform.

That's an interesting voting system--vote with your money, basically. I'm curious how it would work. Do they have wallets for all the coins in existence, just not active markets for all of them?

That would be roughly 200,000 USD they want on deposit in a given coin before listing it.

Assuming the logistics work out, I could deposit around 1/200th of that based on last market price. However, I don't want to make a deposit and just have it sitting indefinitely on a platform I'm unfamiliar with. So if we're going to all go for this, then I'd like to maybe coordinate our deposits so they all happen within a brief time period, DVC gets listed, and then we can quickly either sell or withdraw.
