After speaking with Unthinkingbit, I have decided to continue with DVC and return as an admin on Devtome. The only caveat is that I will not be using this site much (if at all) and thus you'll want to contact me via the Devcointalk forum or email @gmail.com. I look forward to moving away from this site completely as DVC begins to stand on its own and once the new forum with email is up, we can leave this board altogether.

Am not sure it's a good idea to leave this board altogether. How would new people find us otherwise? One of the benefits of being on here is that any member of bitcointalk can drop in and talk to us if they want. On a special board, they'd have to go to the trouble of signing up just to say hello, and I'm not sure casual visitors just dipping their toes in with questions would want to bother.

If we move, I vote we go somewhere like a subReddit, which is equally "public" and where new people can easily locate us.

While I agree its a good idea to maintain a presence here, I disagree that Devcoin "needs" this site. This site has had numerous security issues and this sub-forum specifically is full of spam, scams, and crap that detracts from the content that is worthwhile. I think Devcoin needs to have its own independent community for it to attain widespread mainstream support.

When this board goes down we need a place to go. The IRC should be more visible and should be used... maybe some devs should be on there to help and admins aswell.. as time goes by it will be the place to talk devcoin. Irc is so much better than trollboxing.

dvcticker.bugs3.com is capable of saving data over 3 months (I schedule a 15-minutely cron job)

I believe it qualifies for the 18-share DVC-USD chart.

smeagol you need to upgrade your hosting the site's down Sad

Moneychanger is the Open Transactions client for Grandma:
https://github.com/Open-Transactions/Moneychanger

I'd like people to try it out. The first person who does and makes an informative post (at least 50 words) gets four shares, the second 3, the third 2, and the last 4.

I think this will get the Open Transactions Client for Grandmas bounty:
http://www.devtome.com/doku.php?id=devcoin_bounty_now#open_transactions_client_for_grandmas

but because it's a big bounty I want to be sure and I want people to know more about it.

Edit:

It turns out that Moneychanger only runs in the systray:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=233997.msg4048771#msg4048771

meaning it doesn't run at all for some people, and even if it did it would not be easy to use. So it will not get the Open Transactions client for Grandma award until it runs like a standard application. Also, the bounty for people to try it out is suspended until it runs like a standard application.

Question: Is the windows installer bounty still up for grabs? I thought the receiver files are auto downloaded once you run, from the online hubs?

OT is far from being usable by "Grandma" and similiar

We have added Devcoin to the Tagbond.com and Tagcash.com platforms - You can now use the system to sell and advertise products and services in DVC, set up promotions for rewards in DVC, and shortly be able to trade it for any other coin or Fiat currency we have in the system. We are still in beta, and still making changes daily so if there any tweaks to make let us know.

You can also use the Android apps we have in place, including a Tagbond Personal Cash app, that will let you quickly send amounts to any other Tagbond user. At any time you can deposit and withdraw DVC to and from your wallets.

Question: Is the windows installer bounty still up for grabs? I thought the receiver files are auto downloaded once you run, from the online hubs?

I am willing to build and maintain a Windows installer from the latest binaries also--I have purchased software to create commercial/non-commercial/re-distributable installers. Will work on one today.

The round 30 receiver files have been uploaded to:
http://galaxies.mygamesonline.org/receiver_30.csv
http://devcoinpool.btc-music.com/receiver/receiver_30.csv
http://devcoinblockexplorer.info/receiver/receiver_30.csv
http://devtome.com/files/receiver_30.csv
http://devcoin.darkgamex.ch/receiver_30.csv
http://d.evco.in/receiver/receiver_30.csv
http://show-me-the-devcoin.info/devtome/receiver_30.csv
http://coinfaucets.tk/receiver_30.csv
http://creativecurrencies.cu.cc/wp-content/uploads/receiver_30.csv

The account file is at:
http://galaxies.mygamesonline.org/account_30.csv

There were 816 original receiver lines, so the average number of devcoins per share is 180,000,000 dvc / 816 = 220,588 dvc. Administrator pay is 115.0 shares, 14.1 percent of the total. The value at vircurex is 1.46 mcbtc/dvc, which works out to 0.322 btc. This times the bitstamp price of 684$ gives a share price of 220$.

People on that list will start getting those coins in round 30, starting at block 120,000. The procedure for generating the receiver files is at:
http://devtome.com/doku.php?id=devcoin#generating_the_files

The next bounties will go into round 31:
https://raw.github.com/Unthinkingbit/charity/master/bounty_31.csv

Since the share price can vary pretty widely from the share price listed here depending on the price of BTC and DVC, is this report just given as an estimate (it kind of falls in the middle from the high a few days ago and now)? Checking at Smeagol's ticker, a share is now about $137.

Also, do we need to download the receiver file for each round and put it in the appropriate devcoin %appdata folder, or does that happen automatically?

Well, if anyone can suggest a bounty then I will to!

I propose a 12 share bounty for a devcoin exchange and marketplace, sort of like bitmit except you can deposit bitcoin or litecoin and trade them for devcoin.

I'm working on adding it to tagcoin exchange... many different fiat's can be deposited (FinCen regulated) and tagcoin/bitcoin/devcoin would be traded.

I think I would qualify for this bounty.

It's just a snapshot at the time. You can compare here http://devtome.com/doku.php?id=earn_devcoins_by_writing#generation_share

Great news! Now we can buy devcoins via paypal! I really think we should consider how we pay for our marketing by using tagverts so that payment is only done if users sign up to devtome(start from converting the devtome links) If there is code involved I can work on it from the wallet side.

I should stress the importance of getting it on this exchange since it offers alot of fiat currencies btc tag and now dvc.. fully regulated with a good business model. This will help dvc aswell as tag if we work together.

The exchange is here https://trade.tagbond.com/

I created a custom tagbond site at devcoin.tagbond.com back in October. If anyone in the higher up ranks of DVC or Devtome want ownership, I will gladly hand it over. It may provide a very nice brand for using the Tag offerings.

I can do it.. Im just thinking of ways to integrate the platforms via tags api? Add some rpc calls to devcoin for tag service and rewards? it would give some nice advantage to dvc over other alts for sure.

If you're on your User Dashboard page, look under the profile pic and you'll see an ID. I can use that ID to send an invite.

Be warned, this site has a serious learning curve.
