It's bad for business, but it's not surprising. Magical Tux runs KalyHost and Mtgox. He's been busy.

He should really get someone to answer email even if it has to say "We'll get back to you asap" on questions a new guy can't answer.

Yes, I have similar issue with kalyhost recently. Other than that, it's fine and dandy.

If you're not happy with the service, cancel it. Simple as that.

I am sorry to hear that. That's very unfortunate. I think the owner is very busy with what's going on at mtGox, but still he should have had somebody answer your e-mails for sure. If it's a recurring charge on your card, could you cancel it with the bank? If not, I'd ask to get the money back if I was you.

best of luck, and I hope it turns out well. Must be very very frustrating.

There is no recurring charge. It was paid with bitcoin. I think all bitcoin related companies need to prove they can produce proper customer service.

Update Mark emailed me explaining that because I sent many emails they went into spam. He refunded my original account and sent the bitcoin amount. Because of the whole issue I had to go another hosting provider. I paid bitcoins with the new company.I wanted the original web hosting account canceled because I had updated to a VPS account. I have sent Mark and support@kalyhost.com emails requesting a refund for the VPS account. I will keep you informed when and if that is processed but overall my issues are 50 percent resolved.

I sent them .69 Bitcoin for a domain transfer that never happened. Hopefully, when things get back into control, they can start answering their emails.

I think the best way to get our money back is probably to just be patient. Bombarding him with emails just adds to that probably gigantic list of emails he already has to respond to.

[19:36] <btcchairman> hello?
[19:51] <btcchairman> I need assistance with my Kalyhost account
[20:32] <btcchairman> Hello
[20:35] <MagicalTux> hi
[20:35] <MagicalTux> as I said, we cannot offer refunds on VPS, these are non refundable once delivered
[20:36] <btcchairman> hello there is a 30 day guarantee. Where does it say VPS is exempt?
[20:38] <MagicalTux> the 30 days guarantees is on the web hosting pages
[20:38] <MagicalTux> not on the VPS
[20:38] <MagicalTux> VPS has a completely different set of conditions because it is not provided by us directly
[20:38] <MagicalTux> and when we pay our provider, we have no way to cancel
[20:40] <btcchairman> but the VPS is on the same website. Also in the guarentee there is no designation of that the VPS does not qualify. I would not have purchased if I had known I did not have a money back guarentee.
[20:42] <btcchairman> It is not the customers job to make sure the website designates what items on the website qualify for the guarentee
[20:44] <MagicalTux> the guarantee is on the web hosting page
[20:44] <MagicalTux> and the ToS are really specific on this
[20:45] <btcchairman> The guarentee is on Kalyhost.com. The VPS I purchased is on Kalyhost.com. This is so obvious I can't even believe were talking about this.
[20:49] <btcchairman> were talking about a lousy 3.30 bitcoin do what's right and clean up the language on the website.
[20:52] <MagicalTux> where ?
[20:52] <btcchairman> Anyone that purchases the VPS thinks they get a 30 day guarentee
[21:20] <btcchairman> ?
[21:44] <btcchairman> this is not how to treat the customer

Mark then stops talking. He refuses to do what's right and leaves me no other option to claim fraud. He claims a 30 day money back guarentee but fails to deliver. Buyer beware. Luckily 3.30 is a drop in the bucket for me but for others this is a warning.

i hate to say this but X day guarantees on web hosting and not VPSs is not unheard of in the industry (at least for budget VPSs anyway). when I was shopping for VPSs, i definitely ran into feedback for unrelated providers with the exact same complaints. it's unfortunate, but not specific to MT. it would have been a nice gesture had he given a refund, but i'm not sure he is obligated.

UPDATE: in fact I would not be surprised if MT was a reseller of the VPS I ran into above, hostrail.com. hostrail appears to be almost totally offline as well. you can see their somewhat misleading TOS here. Boy am I glad I cancelled my VPS with them before shit hit the fan and went with another similarly priced VPS that has stellar feedback.

you can donate to me for whatever reason at: 18xbnjDDXxgcvRzv5k2vmrKQHWDjYsBDCf
