I am a summer wild-land firefighter working for the State of Washington. I work for an engine unit here that is made up of 13 guys. The state will not give us funding for our crew t-shirts/hats/sweaters that are required for our crew. I have been pursuing sponsor-ships for us and to date have had little success. I was wondering if anyone in the bitcoin community would like to sponsor our crew.

I guess what I figure is if the WA State economy won't sponsor us maybe the Bitcoin economy will.

If anyone likes the idea or thinks it would have some success let me know, the shirts/hats/sweaters would all bear bitcoin related swag; for instance the shirt would bear something like "Paid for in Bitcoin"

It could be a relatively expensive endeavor and I would like to keep it within the bitcoin community so if anyone knows any sites that accept bitcoins for custom appearal that would be helpful as well.

Unsure as to what it would take to complete this endeavour in terms of coin but it could be as much as 100-200 btc .

Please contact me with any questions. I'll be happy to answer, we are currently pursuing a sponsorship with Monster as well. So hopefully something pans out.

That's an article of a fire we were on just this weekend I didn't make any pictures (thank-god, we have a running game where if you make the paper you have to buy the crew beer).

[edit]I'm sure the news would love to report on a story like "Bitcoins funding our fire-fighters."[/edit]

And there are tons of site owners, makers, and other networkers through this forum that would no doubt assist in this for not only to help the cause, but the benefits for everyone in almost aspects of this project.  I want to quit my job and help you out lol.  I hope at the least someone does PM.

A simple landing page site that allows donations and gives the Firemen something to link to with a big Bitcoin logo seems like it would just be a nights work (hopefully).  Good luck, I think you'll get the help.

Thanks, I greatly appreciate the support. Maybe I'll try and get a quick webpage put up or something. I'm the only bitcoin miner on the crew as most of the guys on the crew don't even own a computer. (I'm trying to change their ways and have peaked interest out of a few of them)

I'm sorry I have to be "that guy", but how do we know we can trust you?

I understand the hesitation I'll try and post more pictures (maybe in crew attire with a sign or something like that.

That would be great. If you do, I'll be happy to donate, although it probably won't be much as I'm a student who needs all the money he can get.
