Recently moved my rig to HiveOS and can confirm that it is amazing. I am very happy with its features and performance.
This is after using a few different OSes, one of which was my main operating OS. It was not that i were unhappy it is that HiveOS is just so much better.
And the conclusion this OS is good for future mining Smiley

Looking for HiveOS compatible Motherboard (and CPU combo)

Hi All,
Been using HiveOS for over 1/2 year now - great, loving it.

I have 10 cards running on:
- unsupported, Dual CPU server MB (using windows as HiveOS/Ubuntu is not supported and does not work - shame, good hardware)
- 2 very old mini PCs (2 PCI ports only per PC, tried to use splitters - issues with reliability)

 I need new to purchase a new supported MB or two (so I can balance the cards between the two for the purpose of balancing the power supplies)

Any ideas for economical MB / MBs ?

Thanks

ctlst

HOW TO UPDATE HIVE OS?

Find orange "Upgrade" arrow icon near the version on your rig page.

You can helpme with my D3 problem to install HIVEOS?

The issue with your D3 is that you get this:

Code:
$ASIC_MODEL == "Antminer D3 Blissz v1.12"

The bash script only recognize the Blissz firmware without the version. You can try with this workaround, I have edited that line on the script and upload it to github. Try with:

Code:
cd /tmp && curl -L --insecure -s -O https://gist.githubusercontent.com/alforro/c168d856b18c606311db90053a09e65d/raw/b6563626e60f5e4d70f5c448c18c8d660c05ef7f/selfupgrade && sh selfupgrade

I only changed one line:

Code:
elif [ "$ASIC_MODEL" == "Antminer D3 Blissz v1.12" ]; then

Let me know if this works  Grin

Any can helpme? My d3 under firmware mod Blissz 1.12 and stuck in this error.

We fix this error by editing the file /usr/bin/compile_time using vi.

Code:
vi /usr/bin/compile_time

Edit the second line from Antminer D3 Blissz v1.12 to Antminer D3 Blissz

close vi typing :q and Enter

then you should do this:

Code:
rm -rf /hive
rm -rf /hive-config
reboot
ln -s /usr/lib/libcurl-gnutls.so.4 /usr/lib/libcurl.so.5
cd /tmp && curl -L --insecure -s -O https://raw.githubusercontent.com/minershive/hiveos-asic/master/hive/bin/selfupgrade && sh selfupgrade

I hope this help someone else too.

A friend of mine got hacked, his asics were put to mine to nicehash a few days after he installed hiveos. Someone had a similar issue?  Huh Huh Huh I dont think that hiveos was the cause, probable another malware on his local network as him didnt changed the default password of the asics.

There is still some matters yet.
1. For the first time (first run), if i get a rig id and enter it the setup would be completed successfully but if i delete that rig id in the website and make another one and then use "firstrun -f" command to setup a fresh rig once again, it would not be successful while info on "rig.conf" file will be changed to new info that i entered from fresh setup and the rig will stay to works with old rig id that was deleted before!

2. While i made setup miner software and wallet via video tutorial to mine XMR via nanopool server with claymore dual (i've RX 470), i don't know why the miner start to mine only for Ethereum while i didn't define any eth address at all!! In the Hiveos XMR mining not possible with claymore? I must mention that i'll click on the "rocket" after choosing the miner and wallet but after restart mining it will mine ethereum again ... i'm very confused  Undecided

3. For failing on memory overclock there is an error like below:
Jul  9 23:58:37 test-rig kernel: [ 1399.017519] VM fault (0x01, vmid 6) at page 135290427, read from 'TC3' (0x54433300) (196)
Jul  9 23:58:37 test-rig kernel: [ 1399.017554] amdgpu 0000:04:00.0: GPU fault detected: 147 0x01c84801
Jul  9 23:58:37 test-rig kernel: [ 1399.017557] amdgpu 0000:04:00.0:   VM_CONTEXT1_PROTECTION_FAULT_ADDR   0x08105E39
Jul  9 23:58:37 test-rig kernel: [ 1399.017559] amdgpu 0000:04:00.0:   VM_CONTEXT1_PROTECTION_FAULT_STATUS 0x0C048001

I see Hiveos does not show this error on it website or miner console (via ssh or shellinabox) and it will shown on the connected monitor to the rig only! please explain about this matter or fix it on the Hiveos error report.

Regards

It would be great if you can resolve this matter for me. @dimafern

Hi!,

Have you solved this error? I also have it and I do not know how to solve it:

I don’t overclocked memory. The default value is set.

To be honest, I do not believe you ...

This error in 99% cases = bad memory timings, overclocked memory ... or broken video ram chips

:-), Consciously, I assure you that no.

I can give you more data, the problem is happening to me with Arch Linux with kernel 4.16 and mesa 18.04.

But it works properly in Ubuntu 16.04 with kernel 4.13 and mesa 17.3.

So, I do not know if the problem can be something derived from the kernel, mesa and xorg.
