Crypto Detective Agency, is it some kind of government agency and what are they created for? Is it only for Russia or is it spread worldwide?
I don't quite seems to understand to question here. Are you trying to say that government is putting up a arm just for crypto? The only thing that I know is that the US is trying to look for people who are hiding behind bitcoin for now paying their tax, however, its the IRS and I'm not sure if IRS has created its own department just to chase them. As far as Russia goes, I'm not also familiar, maybe you can post the link here so that we can see it for ourselves. There are already a lot of company who specialize on this, but this is private companies. |

Please share the links so that we could discuss properly the issue here and to avoid confusion as for my own understanding this kind of agency will hunt all people who have relation with digital currency but how about the exemption? that as long as anyone are in crypto currencies will be monitored? or this intended only for the people who are suspected for fraud and engage in crimes using digital currencies? |

Asking the same thing too which we would really need a link regarding on this thing.Ive known some private department but not on Russia.I can say that they are really just wasting up their time on searching for those people who do evade tax even if it do live or residing on the country they cant even traced it for sure but they would rather focus on checking alone on the services being used which do have in relation on cryptocurrencies.The common reason why this thing has started because they do really to traced up not only on tax evaders but also to those who do make crime and illegal transactions but I would bet that they do really have a hard time. |

I have not heard of this. If it is created in Russia it is clearly to deal with people who use bitcoin. Russia is getting ready to ban bitcoin and create a mechanism of repression. Some time will not be an outright ban. It will make to gather complete information about users of bitcoin. I heard that we have reached an agreement that the VPN services will provide information about the user. Repression is just beginning.

It will obviously be a government agency. As per the news says, it is just a proposal yet, and haven't been started. The president of IRI (an organization in Russia) Alexei Fyodorov proposed this thing at a meeting. He says that this agency will be to keep investors safe from fake Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs) as many of them just collect money from their investors and disappear. So they will collect all the information about ICOs in Russia and register them in their agency, so that if the company tries to scam the investors, they have their information and investors can be helped through this. |

If that was the government projects they are proposing and good for the blockchain community and especially to investors then I think they should go on with it, it is really a nice project indeed. So it's like a monitoring agency of this ICO's that keeps on coming, if that's the case then many will support this one and it is a nice move by IRI President to proposed. |

If I’ll be asked, is it good for the bitcoin community? For me, Of course it is. But for the scammers and tax evader this the best agency to be created to pay the price of they’re criminal activities. A CDA (crypto detective agency) looks like a private owned office or government part department is both good for me. If my country will have this, criminal activism will be lessen and the bitcoin status as a criminal used currency will change to a better way. If CIA is too busy for any other thing then making a new elite force in CDA is the best place to make reports cryptocurrency related crime that’s be a hit if putting a tv series about this one, that’s exciting. |

We are hoping that it can be functioning just the way it should be and will not be used for any other purpose. It could not be denied that scam artists are now having a big party using the ICO platform and soon they would be churning out an avalanche of shitcoins to victimize us and to appeal to our basic greed mentality. Hope that this can help in weeding out the bad elements without disrupting honest players. |

I mean, for the US the SEC acts as that vehicle. They are in charge of regulation and detecting fraud/scams.

You should read all the comments before replying. It is nothing about bitcoin and its effects, but it is about all the new cryptocurrencies that are being or will be announced in future in Russia. They are making this Agency so that they can filter the ICOs that will be announced in Russia and make sure they are not fake and willing to run a legit service. It is proposed for the only purpose of protecting ICO investors from frauds and scams that keep popping up everyday in cryptocurrency world. The initiative really sounds great so far, but, we still need to wait and let it be launched and be functional, and then we can see the real effect of it in the country. |

Lol! in Russia there is the police, but instead of fighting crime they fight against dissent. They are engaged in that people are being arrested at rallies. I'm sure that the main objective of these investigators is to find who uses cryptocurrencies and their arrest. Russian under the existing government will never have freedom. But it seems to me that they do not want. Why the slaves freedom? |

This agency was put into place mainly to protect their citizens, who are interested in certain ico's, from ico's that are just plain cash grabs or scam. If I'm not mistaken, Singapore is working on something similar but I don't think they put a proper agency in place yet. I think the main objective of the Russian government is to create the illusion that they've got cryptocurrency under control by creating thus agency. In reality we know that ico's are only a smart portion of the whole ecosystem.

It seems to me, this proposed agency is another method of how to track people's money.
So it would be an agency to protect the people in investing in ICOs that are potential scammers. With the popping of ICOs from time to time, this agency is a big help in determining what ICOs are the legit ones. Due to the anonymity of the cryptocurrency transactions, the government would also make use of this agency to know who are the people investing into it and who are the people behind this projects so that they will know who have tax liability to them. This would be one of the ways aside from taxing the platform that the people use so that they can still have their share. |

Actually, it is more concerned about the proliferation of ICO projects and the possibility (it is actually happening as we speak) that many scam artists can use the same platform to victimize innocent people out of their hard-earned money thinking that they stand to gain something but in the end will do the 'cry the river' theme song. I do agree with the idea though but of course people should be watching that the office is not abused because government people has the tendency to use their power to promote their own interest. |
