"The name 2030 reflects my conviction that the years around 2030 will be a magical time. In 2030 we will be ageless and everyone will have an excellent chance to live forever. 2030 is a dream and a goal."

- F.M. 2030

Do you think decentralized wealth will bring the world to a great new paradigm by the year 2030?

The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

Maybe, but I don't know when.  Bitcoin->decentralized wealth.  With other technologiese and social advances, then just maybe.

Reading his wikipedia article...seems like an interesting guy:

Quote
F.M. Esfandiary changed his name to FM-2030 for two main reasons. Firstly, to reflect the hope and belief that he would live to celebrate his 100th birthday in 2030; secondly, and more importantly, to break free of the widespread practice of naming conventions that he saw as rooted in a collectivist mentality, and existing only as a relic of humankind's tribalistic past. He viewed traditional names as almost always stamping a label of collective identity—varying from gender to nationality—on the individual, thereby existing as prima facie elements of thought processes in the human cultural fabric, that tended to degenerate into stereotyping, factionalism, and discrimination. In his own words, "Conventional names define a person's past: ancestry, ethnicity, nationality, religion. I am not who I was ten years ago and certainly not who I will be in twenty years. [...] The name 2030 reflects my conviction that the years around 2030 will be a magical time. In 2030 we will be ageless and everyone will have an excellent chance to live forever. 2030 is a dream and a goal." [5]

"We will not find a solution to political problems in cryptography, but we can win a major battle in the arms race and gain a new territory of freedom for several years.

Governments are good at cutting off the heads of a centrally controlled networks, but pure P2P networks are holding their own."

So how exactly will Bitcoin help to "live forever"?

2030 is in just 19 short years. Any radical change would be quite a surprise. Even if he made a few sensible predictions over shorter time frames, "living forever" is in a totally different league from ordinary social progress.
What would be so good about it anyway? You'd just increase you're chances of dying an unnatural death. (Trans)humans cannot beat nature, they're part of it.

I'd go with Ray Kurzweil over this guy, but I think there's other factors towards a realization of "decentralized wealth" than just bitcoin

The only way I see anything like this remotely happening is if, in the next twenty years, all IQs increase by twenty points and everyone suddenly becomes reasonably educated and rationally self-interested.  So, in other words, not going to happen.

It's much more likely that a few wealthy psychopaths attempt to live forever by harvesting organs from the poor or something similarly dystopic.
