Because that is not what they think the bitcoin price is going to be that is the price they hope bitcoin to reach, in my opinion the growth we are seeing in bitcoin is real and as such I think we can reach price between 20k and 25k, it is high but we are going to get another halving during that period of time and I think that coupled with the lightning network is going to be enough to make the price to skyrocket that much.

You dont understand, in jan/2016 bitcoin was $300~$400 do you belive that in jan/2018 the price can be $9k(+3000%)? If it raises +3000% again it can reach ~270k, but i see BTC incresing more day after day, it can increase not 3000% but 6000% maybe, so can reach 500k maaaaybe. If it reach 100k within 3 years i will be happy.

No. Down years actually don't happen. There has only been one down year in bitcoins life. it was 2014, and it was because of a specific major catastrophic event -  the major exchange of the day being hacked and losing hundred of millions of people's money. Even 2015, while down from 2013, was up ~33% from the start of the year to the end of the year as the price stabilized from the Mt. Gox fallout.

People seem to look back at the result of that single catastrophic event and think that every couple of years bitcoin goes down because it happened roughly a couple years ago, without realizing that it was a one time thing and literally the only time bitcoin has ever had a down year.

I do think it is in the realm of possibility that it could hit $50k next year if ETFs are approved next year and hedge funds start offering their clients direct exposure to Bitcoin like Goldman Sachs has said they are considering, plus if Venmo and Paypal follow what Square started today integrating Bitcoin into their mainstream mobile payment apps. With the current trend in pricing which is 800% every year but it is always dependent on the pump and rallies in certain occassion. The pricing on 2020 will at more or less $15000-25000. If major companies does adopt bitcoin then we can expect it to be a lot more than what I speculated.

This trend cannot continue. As the price of bitcoin is increasing definitely will decrease the interest rate of growth. But if the point of reference not take the bitcoin and dollars the increase in price can be more than this year. For example this year the bitcoin has risen 800% and it is $ 7,000 in the next year a price increase of 200% would be $ 7,000.

Yeah price rise so far this year has been nearly a 700% increase at the ATH from a week ago. Might get as high as $10k this year (900% increase). Obviously the rate of increase will go down in future years but I could see a tripling (200%) next year which will make this year's less than $10k price rise look like nothing. If it hits 10k this year, and triples next year and then triples once more over the next two years after that, that'd give a price of $90k in 3 years, and that seems like very reasonable growth.

Yes I agree, It is really unpredictable. The price is great and other people didn't expect it. For me, for the coming years, bitcoin price I guess will goes higher as now,  because the price of bitcoin last year was too high and in the other year people didn't really expect this to happened that bitcoin price will much big as the price before. Quickly like its happening now or quicker, question is now. Joke on a side bitcoin community is growing and bitcoin is getting more popular on global scale and that reflects on price. Upcoming years will be good for bitcoin, I see that countries are more open to bitcoin then before, legalizing bitcoin across the world will be the next big task, getting in in more legal channels. Market needs to open its doors for bitcoin and the best for that would be Amazon. If they start to accept bitcoin as one of the biggest, small ones will follow and that are good reasons for bitcoin to grow up more and cost more.
Its hard to talk about any price in next 3 months, for 3 years many things can happen, but I can bet that price will be 4 digits and maybe first digit can be 2 or 3.

I think that the price will crash a bit at first, as an adjustment to the crazy pumps that we've witnessed this year. However by 2020 we can definitely expect further pumps coming in. The price will definitely be above the $10k range though.

Anyways lots of your predictions are gonna be passed in the next 6-12 months. I don't know how anyone could see the rise from $1000 to almost $8000 in 10.5 months and think in another three years it's only gonna be $20k haha. $20k is a low ball estimate for next year, let alone 3 years!
