In both cases it's their choice.

People have a right to end their life if they chose too.  It's a no brainer imho.

It is a no brainer to many, but you would be surprised how many will quickly give up their own liberties because of things like fear. Or rather think it's ok to force people into making the same failing decisions they made themselves because they fear admitting their own failure.

It's a classic statist's appeal to utilitarianism. Utilitarianism is used to justify fascism and general totalitarianism.

Utilitarianism is only useful for determining how to apply principles. It's not a replacement for them.
