I played both of these game. And i really loved game like that. I played dota 1 too, HON and the others game. If you asked me to compare about dota 2 or LOL i think dota 2 better that LOL. No offense, but dota 2 had better graphics than LOL. And i think LOL heroes like a childish than dota2.
And in my country if you played dota 2 and you have skilled in this game, you will looks like a GOD of gamers and all gamers will adored you.

I prefer Dota 2 because you can deny creeps which makes it more strategic and challenging at the same time. Furthermore, the OG platform of the game was warcraft wherein Dota 1 was created. LoL was just created similarly to Dota.

for me I like LOL better, people saying it's "easy" didn't really try to play it. it LOOKS "easy" but it isn't, because it's gameplay is much faster than dota 2,
I played dota 2 for like a considerable amount of time. I dont think there's a "better" between them, it's both good.
I also think that there's a "better" between these games. it's both good in it's own way and it really differs per player.
