Now my balance is ~60 ETH, waiting price up Roll Eyes
So how much eth u have, and what comment about MEW.com? Safety wallet or not?
Thanks
Just an advice, do not tell anyone how much ETH, BTC or money you have, it is like you are announcing your bank balance on the internet, would you do that? Because I know I wont, any hacker that sees that is going to target you in order to steal your coins, especially since you are using my ether wallet which is one of the sites with the most copy sites, hackers are only waiting for you to make a mistake in order to steal your coins.

Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

I stopped using myetherwallet the day that i was hacked without any reason, i dont know how someone stoled my private key or my password, it was very crazy.
I was just receiving 0.25 ethereums to my wallet, and it dissapeared and it was moved to another eth address, and then i knew that i was hacked and there was no way to recover those funds without having to pray a bit.
Probably it was my fault, but yes, MEW can be easily hacked, and this is why it is not the best eth wallet at the moment.

What wallet do you use now for ETH purposes then?

I heard about hardware wallets, one friend suggested me keepkey and ledger nano s, but I don't understand how we can trust those hardware companies. they can steal our funds like hackers or inside job.

That is a good investment you have there, mate. Ethereum will be flying high late 2017 until early 2018. For me, myetherwallet.com is a safe wallet for Ethereum and other tokens or coins that are based on the platform of Ethereum. Just make sure that your JSON file, your password, your private keys, and your wallet address are stored in a very safe place somewhere far from the access of anybody.

I use it and I can say that this is not totally safe because your money can be stolen when you open mew from other site like emails or some forum but it has a private key that makes it secure like the others.

I am using Myetherwallet But i didn't hold any amount yet. I have just 1,500 eBCH on Myetherwallet right now. But i will hold a huge amount of Eth very soon. I hope ether price will be up within next few months. I am very much excited about that. Hopefully i will hold in myetherwallet within next few days.

Mew is not a wallet. I see a lots of poster calling mew a wallet. Mew is a UI on the client side that enable you to interact with blockchain of ethereum. Mew do not hold your private key or your password neither can they offer any service for you. e.g recovering your stolen ether etc.. If you follow strictly the safe use of mew with ethereum platform, you should have no problem at all.

many friends have already mentioned security concerns and suggestions. we can not say much about it in this regard. Your account has a really good amount of eth. so I think it should be kept in a safer way. If you are not thinking about change it to the dollars or the euro in the near future, I think you can definitely buy a trezor-style offline hardware. For the hacking of mew wallets, it is enough to be distracted  mood. clicking on a wrong link or simply typing in a different address and sending information is enough to free your wallet by thieves. Think well and take care of yourself.

Most of my friends also use myetherwallet and i also use it. It is a very popular wallet you can also collect eth based coins so that is a nice ability from this wallet.

It is not that difficult to make this wallet you get the private key and you get the files so this means you are the real owner.

Where is the download link for MEW?

You can download latest release from here: https://github.com/kvhnuke/etherwallet/releases/tag/v3.10.7.0 (choose etherwallet-vx.xx.x.x.zip file). Move it to offline computer, unzip it and run it by double-clicking on index.html file. You can then generate your private keys.

And I send the generated data to a MEW online field and just send it, without inserting my private key?

Yes, pretty much. Here's a link to MEW documentation pertaining to offline usage with more detailed description of the entire process: https://myetherwallet.github.io/knowledge-base/offline/

Thanks a lot! I am going to try that one out, so I can be safe for sure and not get hacked Smiley

I think you d better use a hardware wallet for this big amount ETH. Myetherwallet is good for small amount operation because it's convenient. But it will store the private key in the browser's cookies, which is quite dangerous.

MEW is a thrustworty platform. You keep your wallet offline actually, it provides a paper wallet. So holding much money is not risky, just be sure not to share your private key anywhere.

I've around hundreds of ether and i keep them all in the eidoo wallet. For some reasons to keep my amount in mew wallet looks very risky and why? it caused by the hackers can steal your private key anytime. i've seen a lot of people are losing their amount caused by their private key already leaked by the hacker. I can't say if that was a safe wallet. But eidoo was better in my opinion especially about the security measures. You can try to download it and use it.

A great wallet, I always use it and there are no problems, although I keep on it different tokens, any except the self-contained etherium. Grin
