Account Hacked! - mazzaneo

Hi All,

My account 'mazzaneo' has been compromised for the past month or so, i only realised because the hacker tried to change the email address, i was sent an email to verify the change and subsequently froze the account.

I do not recall putting a digital signature on my account so therefore cannot verify it.

I have been on the forum for years and do not want to lose all the trust and hard work I have put into it.

The question, how can I get my account back without signing a digital signature?

Can this be done with my old email address?

You have been on this forum for years but you still didnt make a signed message for the security of your account? now that you account have compromised so what will you expect? Since signed message from this thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=996318.0 is the strong evidence to prove that you're the real owner of the account. I dont think you can recover your account without the signed message, anyway just wait for the response of some mods.

No, Emails can be hacked too so they aren't a reliable source to tell if the owner is indeed the real owner. http://www.bctalkaccountpricer.info/ is currently down right now, So i can't tell if someone has quoted a message which contained your bitcoin address. if someone has, only then you have the chance of recovering this account, else considered it gone forever.

You're right, I stupidly never considered the security on the forum probably thinking it would have been a straight forward process to recover the account. I see a transaction was recently made using the signed message address which would suggest that the hacker is in control of this. (0x9F0a4cc13098b99cD8c06943e7D0047EA11b5123)

If i cannot recover this account i wonder if I can permanently get it banned so as to not have an imposter pretending to be me.

No, there is no other way except you can sign message with old/staked address.

Nope, the first mod will ask you about sign message then if you can do it, the mod will send link to reset your password

Try checking your posts, maybe you might have put an address in one of those posts.  You can use that to recover your account.

The link mentioned below guides the user to a facebook page which i and my wife control. I can send a pm to an admin from there to prove it is mine.
