Airdrops are designed to give Users coins or tokens for free - similar to Bounties.
Just keep hold of your account passwords, and never share that!!! Thats rule no1 of the entire universe btw!!!

I think there's no have to worry about because the donation is not mandatory that you donate by force, Airdrop is made of group that want to help beginners and other members to earn some coins.

The only risk that i can think is they will know your email address, but you can prevent this by using other email and if the airdrop is limited to a few participants, there's a high chance that you'll enter your private key instead of the address if you are in hurry and don't recheck what you type in the form. Other than that, there's no risk because it's free, you don't need to pay anything to join.

You have to create an account in some airdrops on their website, make sure you will not use the password which is used somewhere else. Because you still can be tracked, your address>your bitcointalk account>your email. After that they may be able to access your exchange accounts. Same thing happened with my friend and he had 1btc stolen from an exchange.

I have learned new things about airdrop thank you on your advice sir. I'm glad I'm not more being active on airdrop now! Well, answering your question, I can't see any risk on airdrop rather than giving data that shouldn't be given that's all. Just be careful and always take a look on community feedback's because maybe it can help.

You're already on the right track here. Of course you don't give your private key, and airdrops that require you to send eth for "transaction fees" are almost always a scam.
If you're too paranoid on your email address, then just create one for airdrops. Besides, most people use gmail, thats really not easy to hack.

I think airdrops using an ETH address is pretty safe if you are only giving your address to them, if an airdrop is for a good old fashioned altcoin this is where you can come unstuck by downloading a wallet which is new and unknown, as always just be vigilant and like you already have said, never give out private keys to anyone.

There is no risk on joining any airdrop unless they're trying to ask your sensitive information like private keys but that would not happen. If an ICO will distribute as many coins as they can then free airdrop is the best solution. They want to circulate their coins as soon as possible and start making money out of it.

Just practice basic opsec and you'll be fine, don't use the same username/password combination on every website.
It's also a good idea to create an e-mail address specifically for registering on these ICO websites.

People are trying to gain access to your accounts, I have tons of 'Lost password' emails because my data got leaked from when certain services were hacked

Airdrop program is a program to give coin for free to the user. when the implementation of this program, you found  something that less reasonable such as:
1. giving the  private key.
2. giving your  personal data.
I advise you to stay away from that airdrop program. because I am worried that the program is a scam.  i think that is a potential risk in joining an airdrop program.

I dont think airdrop has any risk about your accounts. You just be careful about giving ETH Address. Dont give your private key.
Also some airdrop coins wants to manage your twitter accounts or something. You should think twice before this twitter agreement.

There are no risks involved if you don't do anything stupid like give your private key or password. But can anyone explain what is the benefit of the airdrop for developer? If there is a benefit is it that much considerable for developer to bother and spend time and money to send tokens to many airdrop participants?

There is no potential risk  associated with airdrops. You are strictly advice never to give your private keys out on any airdrop.Airdrops are means of giving out newly created coins or promoting the use of old and existing coins for free. Don't join any that ask for your private keys they are out to scam you if they do ask for the keys.

Almost all advice had been given to avoid the risk so I think we don't need to worry about airdrop. But we should think carefully to buy any altcoin that distributed via airdrop
