I looked at the charts just now, it doesn't look like it would be worth investing in because the price has already pumped.

I think w'eve missed this train.

The price now is too high because I don't think that SmartCash have the potential to cross the Billions dollar cap. Without crossing it, the price will fail.

the devs confirmed that, but they tried to hide it from the public

Was Smartcash stolen due to an exploit in the Smartcash blockchain ?
Was the purpose of th blockchain rollback was done back to block 266765 8th Jan 2018 09:08:40 to recover funds ?
 In a rollback  transactions after this block have reverted back to their previous wallets .
How many users, exchanges and miners have lost funds without their consent ?
How much smartcash was taken ? How much smartcash was affected by the rollback ?
Will they be compensated for their losses ? How are you going to compensate them for their losses ?

some news regarding whats happened exactly:

Smartcash is based on Zerocoin. Zerocoin had an exploit that was discovered. Extra coins were able to be created due to a Zerocoin code exploit, because the Zerocoin code wasn't fully disabled.
Zerocoin allows the creation of new coins without any transaction history.   A hacker exploited that flaw, managed to create and spend coins that didn't exist previously.
The exloit was properly disabled in 0.8.7 but Zerocoin code exploit was accidentally re-introduced in 1.0.

A rollback was done to cancel the extra coins. This means that transactions after  block 266765 8th Jan 2018 09:08:40 are cancelled. This would have resulted in loss of some user funds and
cancelled mined blocks.

The miners will be compensated and balances are being settled on exchanges. This will be paid from the hive treasury.

The historical data of this coin does not look encouraging. It has pumped so much, but now surging. The pump even too much to believe it is not a pump and dump coin. Although i am not trying to discourage the interest of those who are willing to invest into it, but i will say that caution has to be taken. So that it does not look like a deserted coin.

They have 70% of funds reserved for the realization of the project. It is in the hands of their community. I guess it makes the coin too centralized and easy to manipulate. The project is also not very strong. It's private, safe and cheap, but I don't think it is enough. Oh, and I bet the miners are not really motivated if they have only 30% of coins and 15% of rewards are taken for holders of the coins. Not to mention that the price is now 10x down from the maximum.
I would not invest in such a coin, even though it might be not a bad one in general.

I'm a true believer in SmartCash. Yes there are some technical issues, but these are being fixed. Conceptually, the coin is way ahead of any cryptocurrency in top 5 list. I mean cryptocurrencies, not smart-contract platforms. The governance system is vital for independent decentralized asset.

There were no pumps or dumps, just limited supply on exchanges when they were closing deposits/withdrawals during software updates. Currently there is an inconsistency with node payments and this should be fixed in about 2 months time when InstantPay technology introduced.
